so, fun little music thing: the reason the “cray-cray-crazy in love” part is such an earworm is because it is the simplest idea ever. it’s literally the basis of the song, and of every music piece literally ever: the scale.
if you speak music, the real notes and etc are in brackets ! if you don’t speak music, ignore those !
it’s copy-pasted and sped up from the guitar, which is just the first 4 notes of the scale they’re using [f natural minor for those of you keeping track].
this melodic progression, then, is the 1-2-3-(a note that sounds like both the 4 and the 5 note)-5-4 [or f-g-a flat-(a note that could be interpreted as b flat or c)-c-b flat] for each syllable of cray-cray-crazy in love. which, it’s so simple, but who would think of using that ???
That is actually SUPER fascinating :O I don't have a music background at all, but looking deeper into it, that's so cool how such a simple idea could work so tremendously!!! LOVE THIS.
