Great vid! I know this was aimed towards the younger goalie but also good to note for adults either brand new or changing from one brand to another.. sizing is key in the performance on the ice 🤙
Just ordered my first pair of Vaughn pads this morning so perfect timing! Very nervous, but definitely excited for something that might fit a bit better than my current setup.
@@goalietrainingwill do! I’ve had Warrior G6’s for a year and I like them, but they’ve always felt just a little big and clunky so I wanted to try a different system in a slightly smaller size.
@@goalietrainingI actually bookmarked this to report back! I’ve used the SLR4 Pro pads for several games and a few open skates and I REALLY like them! I was surprised at first because the Vaughn 32s are the same size or even slightly bigger than my Warrior 33s. They’re just so comfy though! I don’t even know what it is exactly, but I love them. They also slide really well. Better than the Warriors without the plates but not as much as the Warriors with the plates, and that’s the perfect sweet spot for me. I actually just got the SLR4 glove today, so I need to see if that can be opened up a bit. Thanks again for all the in depth guidance!
@@tombuck Thanks for coming back with your update, I really appreciate that. I agree with you on the sliding surface - - they hit the sweet spot nicely. And for sizing I have a 30+2 in my SLR4s and a 31+1" in my G6's and they both feel like the right size - so same as you on that one too. I am so glad you like them! A very happy holidays to you and your family!
Hello, Maria, could you also make a video about how to get your hand "in shape" to be able to close the glove fast enough and last the whole practise? It would be most helpful. Especially for women with small hands. Thank you for your videos it's helping me a lot on my journey...greetings from Czechia 🍻
My solution for this is spending time working on breaking in your glove - it should close easily in your hand - - here's how to do it - ua-cam.com/video/Wyt-o4to83M/v-deo.htmlsi=IsfB4WmKtND0wgZU
Hi Cassie - I am wearing the Warrior G4 Senior glove with the removable palm and the 75 degree break... BUT I had some major modifications to it because it was janky from the get go... here's a video I did about it - ua-cam.com/video/QqFJjHzj6J4/v-deo.htmlsi=2h5eB68oWVoA-MQN I love it now though.
@goalietraining Thank you! I am having the worst time finding a glove. I have long skinny fingers so technically I fit into a senior glove but everything I've tried has been really hard or awkward to close. It was just suggested that I try something with a 60 degree break since I come from a softball background. I was told it would feel more natural. Off I go to order a few more gloves to try!
@@cassielahey Same - long skinny fingers - - used to be able to palm a basketball back in the day :) I like the Vaughn glove in this video, I can get it nice and snug, but it feels a little stiffer in the wrist - - probably because it's new. I would also love to get one of the Brians gloves with the BOA strap thing - when I try those on in the store they feel good! But my Warrior is broken in so nicely, it is hard to switch.
I have small hands and have always used Vaughn senior gloves based on the assumption the protection is better. Is the protection the same for intermediate and senior gloves? EDIT: Nevermind it was addressed...
Any suggestions? I'm a strength coach... not a 'UA-camr' ha ha. But always open to suggestions. I don't really see 'blue', but I maybe I'm just not that observant.

Getting the right fit doesn't get less important with age, that's for sure.

It's always a personal preference, but I've really liked the Vaughn gear when I've worn it. Let me know how you like it when it arrives.

Thanks for letting me know - glad you got the answer to your question.
Are you able to fix the lighting it seems every video has a blue hue over it.
