After decades of continuous growth of the travel and tourism sector, with a primary focus on economic development, concern for the environment has risen to unprecedented levels over the last two years - and this is unlikely to change in the foreseeable future.
With this in mind, we recently convened a webinar to examine the key challenges we face creating a more environmentally sustainable travel industry - and how we might overcome them. From key partners and industry experts, CHOOOSE, Caphenia and Travalyst, we heard that measuring the environmental impact of travel is a challenge in its own right, while scant supplies of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) were highlighted. Carbon offsetting was also explored by our panel, shedding light on significant change in the area.
