Brother the hardest thing about this job is getting the silver cover off that black sealant is a bitch persist with a hot sharp small knife for hobbys just use existing broken wires clean sand clean flux and solder too easy i did my own on the first go and saved 1200 dollar's 😅

It's electronic gel and what you take out won't effect anything ok bro
what are you using for the wires ?is just regular flux wire ?
It's a little harder than the normal stuff but any good silver solder would be fine
