Zach Carlson Lucic is an ass and deserves nothing less than being cheap-shoted. Who cares if Wotson gave him a little shuve. Letting Lucic know that he better watch out
theONEandONLY What part of clean hit don't you understand? No head contact whatsoever, therefore it's a clean hit. That's what's wrong with the league today. The fact that players overreact over clean hits and end up causing more problems.
As a Bruins fan, I miss having him in Boston. This clip is a perfect example of the kind of energy he can bring to a game. Something the bruins have certainly missed since he's been gone. Makes the big hit, gets the crowd into it. Draws the penalty, and puts in the tying goal. Glad he's doing well in Edmonton.
Don't let this fool you, Lucic is a goon, you know he wanted to retaliate like he always does but he knew he was giving his team too big of an opportunity so his self-control was tested
This man was the best Bruin playoff performer in recent years, dumb idea to trade him. WATCH THE PLAYOFFS FROM 2011-2014 HE PRETTY MUCH SCORED EVERY GAME!!
Lucic knew watson would be after him so he probably didnt put up much resistance to the cheap shot after a clean hit. Smart play by a player i love to hate.
It's funny, because if he were still playing here in Boston, I bet this hit would cause some huge controversy about it somehow being dirty.. Haha, but yeah I love seeing him succeed wherever he's at.. Dude will always be a Boston Bruin.
joseph leocadio but he's not in the same type of environment. Boston is a team full of cheap shot artists and douchebag players, taking lucic to Edmonton, a team filled with young stars, gives lucic a chance to play bigger role which makes him more favourable to the fans as a whole and not just the fans of team he's playing for
Biscuits Full of cheap shot artists and douchebags? So you've got Brad Marchand and Zdeno Chara. That's 2 guys. It's a bit unfair to say that when guys like Bergeron, Krejci, Backes, Pastrnak, etc. don't fit that bill at all. I swear people who throw hate at the Bruins and their fans just do it for fun and ignore that there are dirty players all over the league.
Keenan Rayne Bruins traded him to LA for a pick, Martin Jones, and Colin Miller (who was a prospect at the time). Then traded Jones to the Sharks. Then Colin was picked by the Golden Knights and the Bruins pick pick was Jakub Zbořil who hasn't played a single game for the Bruins. That opened up the door for him to go to a different team instead of staying with the Bruins and Milan signed with the Oilers because of quote "97".
People saying it was a dive don't realize skating on ice isn't like walking. Watson pushed him over when he wasn't expecting it. Lucic knew the hit was clean so expected no retaliation from a butthurt player. I don't mind either team but really Watson made a bad move and got his team a penalty for it.
right before this happened he bobbled the puck n missed a fairly decent opportunity, fans gave him a few boo's and he went down the ice n made that awesome hit..was great seeing him react to it that way...somebody is waking up n it just gets me stoked
See what happens when you don't retaliate, Lucic? He's coming around, I'll give him that, and Edmonton is starting to come back to life which is nice to see!
F*ckin' wow, it takes a big/strong individual to be able to stay standing in that little pocket above the slot. 3-4 players giving him good checks from all directions and Lucic keeps that stick down and shovels the puck home. And that sequence of events before hand man. That'll get everybody fired right up! WOO!! Rick Flare - style!
The only difference between this being deemed a clean hit vs. a "malicious hit to a defenseless player" is Watson having his head up and recognizing the hit is coming. If you pause at 0:50 you can see that if Watson maintains this position he's going to get cranked, possibly with contact to the head. But at 0:51 he turns and braces for contact properly. More kids need to learn how to prepare for a hit like Watson did here. I'm tired of seeing guys suspended for dangerous hits that are the responsibility of the player who was hit.
This is almost identical to what tkachuk did.. oilers fans seem to love it when it’s them getting the power play 😂 kassian just went absolute nutso so it was different I guess.
Lucic had a great game, nice hit and clutch goal. I feel like he went down a little easy for the penalty but Watson was being a bonehead. Excited for my flames to play them tonight!
Anyone else surprised to see Milan control himself for once? Something he never did at Boston, he would've gone after Watson and gotten a matching penalty.
Intergalactic Interviews the plays dead he didn't brace himself for the impact when a 6'4 guy 200pounds plus skates into anybody who isn't prepared for a collision will get knocked over
Not a fan of lucic but damn that was a great hit
Matt Edwards
Jjjjj
Matt Edwards man he had a Nice hit pow Xd
Wow Lucic really changed since he was with the bruins, taking his team over himself, he got the oilers a point right there!
sam93931 about time this is his first great game as an Oiler. Hopefully I'm wrong about him and this will be the Lucic down the stretch.
Cody Cooper hey I think we both agree now that Lucic is a beast lol
Mitchell Moan Yeah he's great now but if his cap hit ends up costing them Maroon, Nurse or JP I'll probably go back to hating the contract.
wait until you see him in the playoff ;)
very true
Clean hit. Watson is an idiot for going after him for it.
Zach Carlson it's been happening all year. Why are people still surprised ?
Zach Carlson Lucic is an ass and deserves nothing less than being cheap-shoted. Who cares if Wotson gave him a little shuve. Letting Lucic know that he better watch out
theONEandONLY What part of clean hit don't you understand? No head contact whatsoever, therefore it's a clean hit. That's what's wrong with the league today. The fact that players overreact over clean hits and end up causing more problems.
Zach Carlson Never said it wasnt a clean hit
theONEandONLY how is he an ass

Makes the big hit, gets the crowd into it. Draws the penalty, and puts in the tying goal. Glad he's doing well in Edmonton.
what a stupid penalty by watson after the definition of a solid, clean hit
Lucic did the same thing to Logan Couture
That's not really relevant, now is it?
I used to agree, but Lucic has changed into a really good, hard working player.
Don't let this fool you, Lucic is a goon, you know he wanted to retaliate like he always does but he knew he was giving his team too big of an opportunity so his self-control was tested
i dont get it lucic is dirty usaly but now he is clean
and sub yo my friend spice mania plz
the thing that surprised me is that after Watson hit him back, he didn't react. I'm so used to the Boston Lucic
he fell down so easily too.....definitely sold it to the ref
@@dmullz100 well it was after the whistle
He gives you very much from many things. A completly and hard - tough guy!!! I like him and the way he plays. #GoMilan👊
man absolute props to Lucic for having patience and discipline not retaliating. He knows what he's doing.
He is the man!
ran from Laraque
What a sequence for Lucic great pickup for the Oil
Lucic is a beast. We need this type of hockey back! #27 keep hitting keep fighting in hockey!! 🇨🇦
This man was the best Bruin playoff performer in recent years, dumb idea to trade him. WATCH THE PLAYOFFS FROM 2011-2014 HE PRETTY MUCH SCORED EVERY GAME!!
ummmm no he didnt score almost everygame there....u on crack man
I miss Milan in Boston but I’m so happy that he’s succeeding in Edmonton by hammering people, scoring, and being named an alternate captain. Atta boy
He had a fight that game as well
Pool Party LMAO pool party
ran from Laraque
Lucic really sold that penalty
Watson is as big or bigger than Looch so not as much as you think
rivahkillah lucheap took a dive right there lol
SliceofBread123 lucic has like 20 pounds on him but yeah watsons still a big guy
i hate lucic, but clearly he just lost his footing. Especially when he wasnt expecting to get hit
Lucic knew watson would be after him so he probably didnt put up much resistance to the cheap shot after a clean hit. Smart play by a player i love to hate.
Atta boy, LOOOCH
Dustin Brown Yes!!
AJAX BEATZ glad to see Lucic doing good in Edmonton!
AJAX BEATZ i miss him :(
HockeyStuffGuy ohh so much
It's funny, because if he were still playing here in Boston, I bet this hit would cause some huge controversy about it somehow being dirty.. Haha, but yeah I love seeing him succeed wherever he's at.. Dude will always be a Boston Bruin.
Always wanted Lucic here in Detroit, the Red Wings need a guy like him in the lineup again.
excellent hit and embellishment by Lucic
CaseyNiestat Go take a walk. Watson checked him after the whistle.
jiji speak he sure did, and Lucic made it look worse than it was by falling on is bootay
CaseyNiestat stfu
Not as much as you think, Watson is huge
CaseyNiestat lucic lost his balance
Man I like Milan lucic so much more now that he is in Edmonton rather than Boston
Biscuits ya he used to be such a douche
He's exactly the same...
joseph leocadio but he's not in the same type of environment. Boston is a team full of cheap shot artists and douchebag players, taking lucic to Edmonton, a team filled with young stars, gives lucic a chance to play bigger role which makes him more favourable to the fans as a whole and not just the fans of team he's playing for

joseph leocadio yeah but those two were a really big influence on him and since he came to Edmonton there are more respectful players
he's really matured. my hats off to u Milan
I guess Lucic learned thing or two from the action performance of Suban earlier
MSGBlueshirts Subban* everyone gets it wrong :(
Its bad getting scored on after taking a bad penalty, but this is a slap in the face. The Oilers have really stepped it up this season.
Everybody watch out, the big bad Oilers are coming to town!
Lol
The Bruins lost so much from trading him. He gives you a little of everything.
Tru dat
This is why bruins fans are the worst fans in hockey ^
10 goals & 34 points last season, with 6 mil cap hit until 2022/2023. That's not too much....
eazy not all of them
Ooohhh man!! Then he ties it up!! Hoohooooo! That was a friggin' beauty!
Wow Lucic stayed calm and didn't respond to Watson, coming from Lucic that's pretty impressive ! Well done !
People saying it was a dive don't realize skating on ice isn't like walking. Watson pushed him over when he wasn't expecting it. Lucic knew the hit was clean so expected no retaliation from a butthurt player. I don't mind either team but really Watson made a bad move and got his team a penalty for it.
*GUESS WHO! MIAAAN LUUCIC!* I just got goose bumps :)
right before this happened he bobbled the puck n missed a fairly decent opportunity, fans gave him a few boo's and he went down the ice n made that awesome hit..was great seeing him react to it that way...somebody is waking up n it just gets me stoked
Don't mess with big lucic
Watson knows he'd get his ass kicked
nice to see that Lucic has learned to keep his compuser and not loss his cool!
1:02 Preds #19 is like "Oh no the refs definitely saw that... yeah that will cost us."
Eman C. lol
XD
Worth every penny.
LOOOCH.
Man, it was a pretty nice hit.
What a fantastic, clean hit!
0:59 hammers??
1:02 girl flipping off Watson
THERE WE GO LOOCH!!!
Luchicken ran from Laraque
bob ultraman when?
@@dustinbrown8003 youtube
bob ultraman nah when did I ask
awesome composure!
If he can do more of that, Edmonton will have a huge plus on their team
Nice clean hockey hit my Lucic!
Lucic squad!!!!!!
See what happens when you don't retaliate, Lucic? He's coming around, I'll give him that, and Edmonton is starting to come back to life which is nice to see!
jrc01718 he's got a new job protecting McDavid and I think he enjoys the challenge because a lot of people go for 97
This was such a mint game!
WOO!! Rick Flare - style!
that guy ha some strength doing that from a shoulder on shoulder hit
Miss him playing for the best team in hockey… Let’s go Bruins
Used to hate Lucic. But now I love him (hand fan btw)
I love the oilers commentators
We miss you, Looch.
I miss Lucic in LA.
:(
The only difference between this being deemed a clean hit vs. a "malicious hit to a defenseless player" is Watson having his head up and recognizing the hit is coming.

Man do I miss this guy on Boston sometimes
0:19 old guy clapping for dirty hit.
This is a lesson to never lose your cool in hockey. You never want to be “that guy” who takes a dumb penalty to send the game to overtime
At his best, Looch defines the power-forward position
NHL WATCH OUT!! BEAST HAS AWOKE!! OILERS 2017 STANLEY CUP CHAMPS!!!
MorrisonHershfield nope caps
Lol
This is almost identical to what tkachuk did.. oilers fans seem to love it when it’s them getting the power play 😂 kassian just went absolute nutso so it was different I guess.
0:34 lol the girl say ow ow ow ow!
Ah man, watching this really makes me miss Looch over in Boston. Still stupid we let him go.
I miss him in Boston
Anybody that plays forward in hockey should see this.
What is the date on this game
Wow, kind of respect lucic. He Doesn't really play dirty anymore
XILENTKNIVES he does , he just knows not to take stupid penalties especially after a clean hit
Mitchell Moan he plays physical not dirty
Wonder what will the oilers do when looch lays out nurse like that when oilers play flames
what a hit!
Clean hit
I love these old comments about how good the oilers are
Oilers being good? Lel my sides are in full eruption
If this was the Lucic 4 or 5 years ago he'd probably drop the gloves
Meanwhile Jarnkrok's like wtf
emotions run high duringa hockey game its ok watson. but thats how the hockey gods work
I love hockey
Lucic had a great game, nice hit and clutch goal. I feel like he went down a little easy for the penalty but Watson was being a bonehead. Excited for my flames to play them tonight!
screeechbud how did the game go ?
Chris P. Bacon cooked like bacon.
screeechbud extra cripsy
Watson getting a talking to after that.
Did they end up winning? I hope so
Looooch miss ya in bean town
lucic always looks like a madman, but his hits are interesting...
Guess who's back Malian Lucic
That is a Milan Lucic hat trick
Was that even offside?
Clean hit. Watson should be counting his lucky stars, that hit could have been 10X's worse.
Probably the best sequence Lucic had on the Oilers. When he was on, he was a beast. Unfortunately he could not make an impact on a consistent basis.
Well that is the only positive thing his going to contribute for this year
He needs to come back to the Kings.
Donnie Reed Bruins could use him again as well.
Donnie Reed then he probs wouldnt be in the playoffs
Tyson Seafoot smh 😂
Anyone else surprised to see Milan control himself for once? Something he never did at Boston, he would've gone after Watson and gotten a matching penalty.
"Hammers Milan Lucic" announcer I guess doesn't know one does not simply hammer Lucic
Welcome to Calary!
I like lucic
That goal brought them into a shootout (which they lost) but they definitely wouldn't have left that game with any points if not for that hit
Watson gave him a little bump, back then it wouldn't be a penalty
Back then it'd be called as unsportsmanlike conduct.
thats like saying a ditch is a little bump
Am I the only one who spotted Jim Carey at 1:41 ??
Yes, since that's not him! Lol actually though, I remember watching this game and mentioning how Jim Carey doppelgänger is behind our bench lol
If Watson did that when Lucic was still in Boston there would have been a 5v5 on the ice
I LOL'd...
Gordy Howe Hatrick
Lucic getting into playoff form maybe?
TheKisj i think so thats what he said in his interview
@0:35👀👀 girl with the black hair
If only the Oilers won this game
Lucic went down preeeeeeeetty easy after the whistle. Ryan Miller was right: "gutless".
Intergalactic Interviews the plays dead he didn't brace himself for the impact when a 6'4 guy 200pounds plus skates into anybody who isn't prepared for a collision will get knocked over
Skating into him is like skating into a brick wall... Too bad you can't be as slow as brick wall in today's game
Hammers?
