Stay in Scottish forests over winter for £7 a night in a motorhome or campervan without any hassle

- In this vlog we return to Scotland to try out 4 more 'Stay the Night' forest parkups from Forestry and Land Scotland. As official overnight stops we like these as we know we are welcomed and contribute to the upkeep of the forests. This scheme usually runs March to Oct, but is now on trial over the winter- we hope it is made permanent! There are many more forests that are open in March.

We know this area well, but usually in the summer when the kids were young. This is a great option, winter park-up in the forest! Raiders road and otters pool is fantastic in the summer for a dip! Really enjoyed the video.
@@edwardmacrury5376 hi Edward, thanks for your feedback 👍 it’s a stunning area, we always look forward to visiting, especially when it’s quiet, although that usually means wet and cold 😂
Cheers 🍻 for watching 👀

Don’t watch too much Tom, you’ll end up grumpy with a Lancashire accent 😂😂
🍻🍻
Good scheme, thanks for sharing 👍
You’re very welcome 👍

Hi Andy, thank you, much appreciated. 👍

Went to that goat park a few years back with my mum. So as you brought a pleasant memory back, I'll be refraining from taking the Mick about the drone (for now) 😘
😂 sure you’ll not refrain for long 🍻
I just love the countryside as you are driving. So beautiful. Glad you got the drone working. Good job on fixing it. Sure hope your feeling better. I love the way you explain your whereabouts. So informative. Love you both. Great video as always.
Glad you feel like you’re coming along with us❤️
Another great informative video.
I hope your colds improve soon, thankyou for sharing 😊
Thanks David, Happy New Year to you. Andrew is battling through the cold like a hero 😂😂
First time we’ve heard of that scheme, thank you for sharing and really enjoyed your vlog..🚍🏍🌏👍
You’re very welcome, thanks for the feedback. If you look back over our other vlogs we made a similar video with some other really good ones in the area. You could easily make a circuit that would last a week or more 👍
I've stayed in the Balbeatie parkup a couple of nights. I found the parking machine a little temperamental - because it's (or was) powered by a small solar panel and when I went to pay there battery was flat. However by later on in the day it had recovered and was fine. But it's a great place, nice walks to exercise the dog etc.
If you go and it's full - alternatives would be Caerlaverock and in the ruined Sweetheat Abbey carpark (!!!) in New Abbey.
Some good advice there Brian, thanks 👍 The Caerlaverock one is great, one of our favourites, will try and check out the Sweatheart one next time. 🍻
Have a go at the Northumberland 250,Kielder has overnight park ups, also takes in the coast Bamburgh and Berwick.
Happy New Year Peter and thanks, it’s on our radar having already explored some parts of it (although not by motorhome)
We trust you are well and having a peaceful 2024 so far. 👍
Happy new year. We love that area and thank you for highlighting a few new spots for us to take the mountain bikes. We have never stayed the night in the car parks so that needs to be a New Years resolution.
Thanks Paul, defo go, there’s miles of good mountain bike trails 🚲 you feel dead safe of the car parks too 👍
Great video, I did think you were going to demonstrate the first air to submarine drone
Thanks….maybe next time!!!! 👍
I can’t find the app you are talking about? Hope your colds are better. 😂
Hi Patricia, thanks for watching, and yes, we are better 😂
If you mean the app for paying for the parking, it’s the “Ring Go” parking app. If you don’t have it, or can’t get mobile web, there is a tel number on sign you can call instead. Also, you can pay up to 72 hours after you leave👍
Just watching your vlog just now 11.30pm. Wish we had known you were coming north of the border. You've encouraged us to visit the forestry commission park ups. Helen
They are all well worth a visit 👍 thanks for watching 👀
Across the country you mean across Scotland ,the uk isn't a country it's four.
An error on our part, glad you enjoyed the vlog and watched to the end, thank you 👍
Andrew, Jane & Buddy
