Moved from the 13PM to the 15PM. So glad I did! As a photographer/filmmaker I am bowled over by the advances now available to me.

Da stimme ich zu, aber ProRes ist Spielerei, da die Datenmenge zu gigantisch ist und man entsprechende Hardware benötigt um es zu schneiden. Für ein Handy ist das grundsätzlich zu viel Aufwand. Eine Panasonic S5 kostet gebraucht unter 1.000€ und kann 4K‘60‘fps, die ist dem iPhone locker überlegen. Noch fragen?.
Really good in depth review you touched so many points no other reviews did! I saw how much of a big upgrade it was when I upgraded from my 14 pro but a lot of this I didn’t know even though I think I watched most reviews and comparisons on UA-cam! Good job!

_what I love about this camera especially the 48 megapixels is that I can take a picture of a very large scene and cropping pieces of art out of the very large scene that I like and still keep the details with no digital over sharpening, this is perfect for raw photo photography_

Great video, Zy! I was always wondering why, if I shot in PHOTO mode, sometimes it came out in PORTRAIT and sometimes, in a regular photo whether there was a face or animal or none. You made it very clear by saying that if you tap to focus and you’re in the right lens, it comes out as a PORTRAIT. Thanks.

Great Video! I looked a lot of iPhone 15 Pro Max reviews. But this is by a large margin the best camera 15 Pro Max review! Doesn't only stays on the surface a reads the spec list, but really makes a deep dive into the features and benefits.... Apple should hire you to present the new camera features 😀. Awesome camera review!. Finally someone covered the 5x camera switching when a close object is introduced… I was very confused about that. Would be nice if they added a toggle to not switch like with macro.
A toggle similar to the one for Macro would be great!

Great insights about the latest iPhone cameras. I’m have the 13 pro max and can’t wait for next year iPhone 16 so I can get this one for a cheaper price. iPhones are getting so much better I even started shooting video on the 13 pro max instead of my full-frame mirrorless camera.
EDIT: I just realized why I couldn't convert my Photos into Portrait mode. You have to be far away enough for the iPhone to capture depth information. When I'm far away enough, I tap on the object. A small case "f" will appear in the bottom left area of the screen, telling me that depth information is being captured. I tap to take the picture. Then in edit mode, the Portrait choice will appear.
By the way, I upgraded from the iPhone 12 Pro Max to the 15 Pro. I am impressed with the clean footage I get from using Apple Log. I never expected that. Now, I can see people using the iPhone 15 Pro for filmmaking now more than ever.

The 120mm telephoto lens is the main reason I want to upgrade lol
why my 15pm photos look grainy in moderately lit room? and the resolution is worse than any 10y old phone.
The 15 pro max would be zooming in on the main sensor for anything in between 1x and 5x - making the 3x on the pro better than the 3x on the max. Do you think this is a good reason to buy the pro rather than the pro max?

I don’t really understand what the HEIF and RAW 12 mean.
I really wish they would give us a “pro” photo and video mode like Samsung has. I know Apple would do it perfectly and it would be nice to not need third party apps.
4K 60 Cinematic would be a welcome addition as well.

You should try the Blackmagic camera apps for the iPhone. Pretty good Pro modes for iPhones IMO.
Still ill wait for the regular Pro to have a 5x before buying an iPhone. It's definitely a better size phone for the occasion.

I upgraded from the 14PM mainly for the titanium being a lighter weight form last year and man that really makes this phone great holding the hand as someone who doesn’t really use cases anymore. I have to admit though, while I wouldn’t upgrade just for the 5x zoom, I find myself really using this feature and oddly found myself in more situations that really benefited from this upgrade. The 15PM is a great phone.

I despise big phones which need two hands to operate (got small hands) so I wish the optics were identical in the 15 Pro.
It's a pity they have to differentiate them like that. This has to stop from the next iteration. Period.

Hey, thanks for sharing. I upgrade iPhone usually is for the camera feature, but however I noticed that the standard camera isn't that fantastic as when I tried to shoot a close up photo without the macro lens, I didn't get the bokeh effect, which I managed to do that with iPhone 13 pro max. And now I always have to remember to switch to Portrait mode and always have to "move further away". Kinda disappointed actually or perhaps that I still learning about the new phone hidden features.
How to access macro lens and when to use?

However, software improvements are one thing, while hardware improvements are on the different league.
I prefer to wait for the next iPhone to enjoy the benefits of both improved hardware and improved software at the same time.
I had an Iphone 11 pro for four years so it was time for a change. I opted for an 15 pro max. I've had it for a few days now. I have set the phone up to take ProRAW max and edit them on an imac using Adobe Photoshop 2024. I have taken a few shots in all sorts of conditions, sun, shade, dull weather etc. I an underwhelmed with the image quality in fact I'm disappointed. If you are seriously considering one...Try before you buy !!!

most people dont care about that. 8 out of 10 best selling smartphone model globally are all iPhones...1 from Samsung worth 199USD. None from Vivo. Not worth his time and effort. There are other vloggers who may review that though
Hi :) You make such great videos. I bought a mint condition 512GB iPhone 14 Pro Max a couple of months ago. And it's a great phone. But when I thought about transferring Apple ProRes videos off it it's too slow with the lightning port and thought it doesn't have enough storage. So I sold it and bought an actually new 1TB iPhone 14 Pro Max replacement phone a couple of weeks ago. And that was even better. But a week ago my ISP had a $500 off offer for new iPhone 15s, all the different models, if you sign up for their mobile service. And this was on a $15 monthly contract you can opt out of and have the phone unlocked after 60 days. So how could I pass that up? :) So I bought a 512GB iPhone 15 Pro Max for $899. I'll sell the 1TB 14 Pro Max. It was out for delivery today but somehow didn't get delivered. So I'll get it tomorrow. Looking forward to all the great new features you've described here and some others you couldn't get to in one video. Off to watch the log video next. Thanks. 👍🙂📱

Quite a good camera on the phone. However, it is too expensive for such characteristics.
Amazed at all these reviews, a real photographer never uses a mobile phone, no matter how many gimmicks they come with they are small sensor cameras, a real photographer uses full frame sensors in dSLR's which are light years ahead in quality and capabilities.
Why in the world would you zoom 5x in 60p in the first place? 60p is for slow motion

Effing ridiculous to buy a new MAX iPhone every year for well over $1000 a pop. He's right about the 15 MAX features being more than evolutionary, but enthusiasts already have another primary camera and those scraping buy will do best to make the most of what they already own. This is from someone who would have held onto their 7 for another year for the 15 MAX if he knew it would have still been supported w/updates, but oh well...
There is no phone that I’m aware of that takes worse low light photos than iPhone 15 Pro Max, particularly indoors. I like going to museums and art galleries a lot, I don’t expect the pics to professional, but at least, usable. They are not! I have worked with the settings, have watched dozens of tutorials, nothing helps. I’ve given up trying and take a $199 camera with me to get half decent pics at events, galleries and parties etc. It’s really disappointing as the iPhone takes fabulous pics outside in natural light.
