Question: Wouldn’t it be MUCH less expensive, to find a complete Land Cruiser Front solid Axle. Swap the steering knuckles side to side for the correct drop. And cut the front hangars, shock mounts off a donor truck (or make them). And then the Crossover kit. Check out Zuk’s SAS build. Zuk is a well known Differential Builder from Arizona. I’m pretty certain I could do the leaf-spring SAS for a fraction of this expensive build.

the reason you think its cheaper for you to do leafs is because it is, but only if you do not factor in labor costs and assume a lot of used/free parts and only use cheapo shocks. also the labor involved in flipping an 80 housing to drivers drop is a lot, pre built housings are cheap comparatively. cost difference if you buy mostly new/nice parts ends up being coilovers vs whatever shocks youd run with leafs

That drop axle shyt is for the birds! I wish I knew that the quality of the TG front springs was also complete garbage 🗑 I just ordered replacement ALCAN from springs that I had custom made, I'm sure it will improve my front suspension, can't wait, they'll be here in a few days and out will go the TG crap that broke the first time out, on the shake down offroad trip to Rausch Creek PA offroad park, she's also my daily driver, and has to deal with the tuff streets of NYC/Long Island, and I'm sure my new springs will do just that! Great video, you guys tell the truth, it ain't cheap, but totally worth every penny!

Yeah man there are some things that aren't great about the TG kit for sure... the air shocks that were on this build originally aren't on it anymore because they really can't handle the stress that they take. We're going to notch the frame and switched him to double stacks in the meantime.

No static to your hustle. However $25 THOUSAND!?! I guess ol boy bought a brand new front axle and all brand new parts to surround it? But if your dropping off an ifs and a week later picking up your sas yota. Roi you could have just bought a rig built and saved $10k. God speed. Thanks for the video.

It's a SAS with all new everything up there (deleted a drop bracket kit) and a rear shock relocate with a regear... You can go buy a shitbox and spend that much just chasing down issues if you don't fabricate things yourself.

I am solid axle swapping a Ford ranger. I originally wanted to do 2.0 air shocks but have had a bunch of people tell me it would be to heavy and ride funky with them. I feel like a 4 door tacoma would weigh more than an ext cab ranger. Any insight on air shocks over coils?

Toyota tax is a real fkin thing. My entire XJ build cost less than just the SAS on this tacoma. And id bet any amount of money my XJ will go all the same places this taco will

lol what do you suggest he get ? Name something u can get this capable and reliable for 25 grand. These guys definetly have a really high labor cost though and trail gear stuff isn’t cheap. You can get this work done cheaper and a lot cheaper doing urself

@@natebath5522our labor rate is the average shop rate in Colorado… most fabricators and specialty shops charge 25% more than us too.
