    Nu när jag lyssnar flera gånger tycker jag fortfarande att de kritiker som tycker att detta går för fort har fel. Visserligen är jag ingen expert, men jag har en musikalisk känsla som jag tyr mig till. Jag tror att de olika uppfattningarna ofta har att göra med vilka inspelningar man lyssnar på och som påverkat en mest.
    När jag lyssnar på denna inspelning faller allt på sin plats, och jag tycker varken att det går för långsamt eller för snabbt. Jag tänker inte på tempot alls. Jag bara njuter av musiken. Hälsningar från norra Sverige!

    And I have to admit, the first time I heard this music was in Kubricks 2001: a space odessy. Since then this music has grown in popularity.

      Kubrick auditioned every version of the work that was available. He chose the version by the Vienna Philharmonic with Karajan conducting.
      The performers aren't mentioned in the film's credits because Decca didn't want to be associated with what they assumed would be a silly science fiction film.

    I'm just going to say it.... Tarmo Peltokoski is a record company created " young star" but I don't think he should be doing Strauss at 24.

    • @TheStockwell
      @TheStockwell 5 місяців тому +3

      True, but he has a gift for burning through a score and shaving minutes off any music. If you prefer speed and precision over interpretation, this is your dream conductor! 😏

      What age can you do Strauss? I am 78, maybe I am qualified?

    • @williamsu5552

      Yes, before age 36, R.Strauss has never interested me. But now, his music is what I cannot live without. R.Strauss is a true guardian of Austrian-German late romantic music against the attack of modernism. To understand that, one has to at least go through the previous 400 years of music making since Baroque.

    Some very nice solo work from the concertmaster and other principals, but the performance as a whole is rushed and at times sloppy, which is the responsibility of the direction. Things completely fell apart in Von den Hinterweltlern.

      There is no conductor who can ruin R.Strauss' music. It's inherently and deeply beautiful, however being conducted.

    Very impressive performance by a mature orchestra and very young conductor. Strauss said he was a first rate second rate composer! No, like Mahler, he was a first rate composer and conductor.

    A very shallow performance, I must say. Many young conductors these days, including Peltokoski, seem to be rather embarrassed when confronted with late-romantic music that is dripping with expressiveness and beauty, and so they conduct it in this cool, swift and superficial way. Sad! I just hope he doesn’t touch any Tchaikovsky anytime soon.

      Exímio maestro. O que há de errado com a interpretação dele? Em absoluto não notei nada que desabone primorosa apresentação. O tempo está correto. Não tem nada de corrido, como alegaram.
