Thanks for the thorough details man. I just ordered this for my 12" RCI bed rack. Also ordered the RCI awning mounts and I think the extensions you removed are meant for this rack. This will be paired with an OVS RTT. Looking forward to camping this year!

I'm getting the same track but the 18". I'm wanting to buy this awning, but some other videos and yours looks like its not really 270 degree. Does it actually fold out enough to butt up against a rooftop tent over the tail gate end?
Yes indeed mine is right up against the end of my rooftop tent. All you have to do is slide the awning forward or back to where the pivot point is in line with the end of your tent.
I live local to RCI and was able to stop into the shop. Great place and great folks! I also picked up one of their aluminum racks and the same tonneau adapter. Did you bolt yours down? I’m worried wind could possibly pull the clamps off that hold the rails on.
Just installed this on my 17 Silverado Z71. Mounted over bed passenger side straight to cross bars. Fits like a glove
