- I get a lot of questions about options for Australian Permanent Residency over the age of 45. This video discusses pathways to Permanent Residency for people close to, at or above 45.

I was in Australia on work visa 482 in 2014-15 for 9 moths, now i am 48 and again on work visa from past 2 months, my 482 is valid for next two years. Can i get a PR if my company sponsors me ? Please reply.
Hi Chioma, my question is about going to Australia with my mom. I enrolled in a business and trade diploma but want to study psychology, social work is also on the table. If possible I’d want to apply for PR but the issue is that I want to take my mom with me. She’s 63 years old, she’s a taxi driver and not incapable at all. She wants to keep working but I think i’ll be able to support her if she doesn’t find a job. Is it possible for her to go and apply for a PR with me or after (if) I get it?

Thanks for watching. Unfortunately I can't give any expert answer regarding the situation with your mum. Given her age, I am unsure if the usual pathways for PR will be appropriate for her. On the other hand, it may be possible to include her in your PR visa if you can prove she is your dependant (but this is only a wild guess!) Please seek advice from a qualified migration lawyer

Hi chioma, I have a question and it's not about being over 45 I am studying diploma in mental health in Sydney and I scored a 7 in each band in my IELTS exam..I did this course because of the fees..I would like to know what should I do next so that I can start my journey to pr...should I change my course and apply for bachelor's in social work after I complete my course using my English test..or what can I do to pursue a course which can give me pr..Moreover my visa is temporary which is only two years..please advice me
Hi Vie, check if your Diploma is listed as an accredited and accepted qualification for any of the PR eligible occupations that are assessed through ACWA. If it is, then you can explore PR after your current studies; otherwise, you may consider getting the Bachelor of Social Work after your studies.

He might stand chance through regional employment sponsorship. I will recommend that you look at opportunities in Northern Territory, also considering what I shared in tjis video and the one after it. Thanks

Well, you can give it a shot through the Dama Labour Agreement. The 482 visa also does not have age restrictions and though it is a temporary visa, it may lead to PR through the 186 visa

Hi, thanks for watching. Unfortunately I don't know much about requirements for specific occupations including Technical Sales. Please read up on the skills assessment requirements for your occupation.

Yes, you can apply for PR as long as you can return a positive skills assessment through the AASW (you don't need work experience for that). Also you must be able to reach the cut off of 65 points for PR to be eligible to apply.

Thanks for the info. However, I have a question pls. I am an aged care registered nurse working in sydney for nearly 3 yrs. If I am turning 55 in 2 months time, am I still eligible for DAMA visa? Pls. advise. I would really appreciate it.
Age concessions on DAMA labour agreements cap at 55 years, so except you are able to find an eligible employer on the DAMA agreement who is willing to sponsor you before you turn 56, the chances are slim to be honest.
@@lifewithchioma Thank you but I am quite confused since some migration agents are telling me that I must be below 55, meaning I should not yet have turned 55 when I apply coz I still need to find an employer, pass the english test which I think would not be an issue for me since I was able to score 7 in PTE.
