Men are sceptical whenever allegations like this are made because women lie about abuse a lot - take the GeorgeNotFound situation from only a few months ago. If you want this perception to change, go after the women who lie about abuse. With the evidence that Alice has, no one is defending ImAlexxx he's clearly a domestic abuser. I haven't seen anyone defending him, but then again, I'm not on Twitter.

@@elriano1you know false accusations are like really rare. Sure quite often when it is reported to the police or even goes to court, the abuser will not be persecuted. Not being able to gatver enough solid evidence, and being believed not blamed etc. Doesn't mean it didn't happen.
it's crazy how easily a lot of people forget this kind of stuff. it's like as soon as "youtuber drama" isn't a hot topic anymore or whatever it might as well have not happened in the eyes of a lot of people and they go back to supporting them, and no consequences actually happen. i just hope people actually care this time, even after videos stop being made about it.
@@jasperjazzie I've literally seen so many people defend his friends like memeulous, saying they "just didn't know!" As they weren't the ones that were goading and advising Slazo's ex to get him cancelled
"they don't seem like the type of guy" lol Ah, yes, every person who's dated an abuser met their partner and thought "this guy seems like the type to abuse me" and that's what sealed the deal, right? If abusers "seemed like the type", no abuser would have a partner to abuse.
that's also why it's so hard for a lot of abuse victims to come out and talk about it, because abusers are so good at keeping up their façade that to everyone else it often comes as a surprise. or, even if it isn't totally a surprise, there's always some rationalisation; "but he was nice to ME?"
My ex bragged how charming he was. And he was a social butterfly. He said nice things about me to acquiantances without me present, nothing if I was present and awful shit when we were alone. And nice things to my face after break-up because he was scared of my brothers finding out.

The whole clout chasing argument has always been so absurd to me. I can’t image anyone seeking the type of “clout” one earns from coming forward with abuse allegations aka a bombardment of harassment, victim blaming, and people calling you a liar. (to be clear I agree with you, not trying to come across as combative I just wanted to point out flaws in the whole clout chasing argument)
Yeah allllllll the videos, voice recordings, etc proving that he was abusive(he admits to it and verbally abuses/threatens her), is enough to say he’s a piece of shit.
What I’ve learned, as an abuse survivor myself, is that people are sympathetic to the idea of an abuse victim, but they don’t always embrace the actual women who come forward. I understand why I was so quiet. People think that having a good coping mechanisms is lying. What about how fake he is in public? Some can’t win. Hopefully this can get better.
Absolutely, this is a huge issue that has been raised in the last few years, and it’s because you can imagine a perfect victim but there are no perfect victims in real life.
I agree but you also have to understand there is a reason as to why people don't always embrace it. Sexual assault and emotional abuse allegations have been weaponized. These type of allegations are life destroying whether they are true or not. However I do believe that when someone comes forward you should assume it is the truth and then work from there.
@@izur020false accusations are extremely rare and yet they're all anyone wants to focus on, sometimes proof isn't enough for people who don't wanna see the truth 🙄 saying "but some people lie!" isn't at all productive because most of us do not
I don't understand how anyone can say this is "clout chasing"? Victims arent paraded around getting success. They are shunned. Frankly this is the opposite of clout chasing
"You should lie down like a good dog" gave me goosebumps. That's what my abuser told me, albeit with different words, with the silent threat of "If you don't, I'll get much worse". I actually watched that guy's videos, but I won't be doing that going forward. What he did is unforgivable.
The matter-of-fact way he said it too, threw me off at first. Like that's how it's normal for him to speak. I wasn't computing how serious he was being until just before he started yelling. The whole thing was very chilling. (For context, I've never watched this person before)
Tells you what kinda person he is. He can act like a tough guy to ppl he’s brainwashed into it because in the real world, he’d get hit right in the mouth for talking to ppl like that and he’s a twig. When 99% of ppl could snap you like a twig, they’re sure to come down on that 1% to make them feel big.
Yeah that was rough huh? My ex of 7 years who basically over time brainwashed me, did a similar but worse thing. He’d come home very late, drunk, and start a stupid fight with me. And I’d tell him to just go to sleep, let’s just lay down and we could talk in the morning, blah blah all that bullshit we say to try to chill them out. Then after a while, I’d think he passed out, but he’d kick me right it the lower back (he had a whole head of height and 100 lbs of muscle and mass on me) out of bed and say “get on the floor with the dogs where you belong”. wtf is with them equating the women they “love” with dogs?! I’m sorry that happened to you. But look how strong we are, and I bet your ex is living a shitty life, he deserves to. And this new one? I used to watch him, he’s 2 totally different personalities….. and He’s a slimy little shit isn’t he? Much Love, friend. 💪🏽💜✌🏽
I'm sure plenty of us have heard that even when we don't have famous exes. Like clout from whom? Your tiny little friend group? A lot of people claim you're doing it for attention like there are tons of people around to give you such attention, like we stand to lose everything and gain nothing, it sucks On a bigger level like this, she stands to face the wrath of fans and have her entire story picked apart and herself insulted, people who think that's at all desirable need to take a hard look at themselves
They're the type who believe ANY sort of attention, especially if you already have some internet presence, is you wanting "clout" (people paying attention to them) of course then if its just a random person with nothing but the internet presence of the regular person its "they're trying to jump start a career" or some other nasty comment
82 pages of documentation is horrifying. To not only think about what she had to emotionally process while compiling that, but also what she must have left out…I can’t imagine such a doubly harrowing experience.
The fact she needed to compile any document in the first place is horrifying. People are still writing her off and blaming her even _with_ the evidence
This is a really good point. I think so many abuse victims dissociate and the abuse becomes so normalized amd such a blur that we forget half of the abuse that actually occurred. What we are seeing is probably only the half of it

The night I went to request an arrest warrant for my ex for physical and s*xual assault, the magistrate looked me right in the eye and told me I was lying because I waited more than 24 hrs to report it. It’s so disheartening when even the cops who are supposed to “protect and serve” make you feel like garbage.
I was searching online trying to find how many abuse reports are fake and somehow came across the website of the MET police (who already have an awful reputation, Sarah Everard RIP) and they say right there "Officers should bear in mind the possibility that the relationship is a mutually abusive one". Makes my blood boil. Treating reactive abuse like it's just as severe as the abuse that got the victim to that point is vile. But it makes sense given the horrendously high amount of police that are violent abusers themselves; the statistics speak volumes. I'm sorry this happened to you and I hope you're in a better place now

And when I point out how violent he was, he ALWAYS said "but you hit a wall too". He used it as a tactic to keep me quiet (I was scared of him when he was raging), I did it as a reaction to all of it. It makes me SO angry that an abuser will take your breaking point as equal to months and months of abuse. 😔😔
@icravedeath.1200 I'm not sure self-awareness could help someone who is a compulsive liar, a thief and an abuser. But I do believe men need to be taught/learn how to effectively resolve their anger and trauma so they don't traumatise others.
@@gilbej91 my point exactly, and making sure they develop stuff like self-awareness, self-compassion and humility are important steps to achieving that, as well as not being afraid to recognise and express signs of remorse. That's why I'm an advocate for deconstructing patriarchal strangleholds over emotion, it's a regressive idea that benefits no one and hurts everyone. Having to do all that while still living with the people who traumatised you is a bitch tho lol (can say from experience). When men make a claim against a woman, social media usually says “I always knew she was like that” and “This is what women are like,” whereas when women make a claim against a man they get “Are you sure you weren’t leading him on with your clothes?” and “Let’s hear both sides before we come to any conclusions.”
I've seen more cases of when the man is accused people believe the victim even when they are a big UA-camr. I can give a few examples such as Slazo, Kwite, Dream, and Inquisitor (who sadly took his own life).
@@Milo-it1tf I never said he was guilty but when he was accused everyone believed his accuser. I used it as an example of everyone believing accusations about a man.
That's not true. I hate it when people make it a competition of who has it harder when I know first-hand that men are not believed when they come forward. I knew a guy who was assaulted by a girl at a party and didn't believe it because women can't assault men. That's not to take away from female victims. There are also countless stories of students being assaulted by female teachers who don't get taken seriously. i have heard "he actually enjoyed it" or "he should be lucky to score with an older hotter woman" or "he's a man he can overpower her".
I don't like the term "reactive abuse" either because it not only blames the victim, but validates the abuser. One of the common ways abusers gaslight their victims is by finding away under their skin until they snap. If the victim doesn't react quickly or dramatically enough, the abuser will continue to poke, prod, push, and pull at the victim until they get the reaction that they want (i.e. anger) so they can use that reaction as fodder to frame themselves as the victim and the *real* victim as the abuser. So, instead of calling it "reactive abuse," I'd rather just call it what it is: a reaction to gaslighting.
One thing that bothers me in situations like this is the public reaction “go to the police” and some say “file a restraining order”, but we live in society that always jumps to victim blaming, the police barely do anything, and a restraining order is not a force field. Victims of abuse live in fear and going to the police, filing a restraining order can and often does make the abuser angrier, many end up killing their victims because of it. Leaving an abusive situation is not easy and can lead to a life threatening situation. Anyone who thinks it’s as easy as filing a police report has no empathy or has never been abused in their lives or never seen first hand what abuse can do. It’s not that easy and speaking up about it, especially against someone with a following, takes an enormous amount of courage.
@20ish min PERIOD. I'm so tired of people saying "well, in most abusive relationships, both people are abusing each other" as though it somehow excused the actual abuser. Reactive abuse really shouldn't be considered abuse when the victim never would have behaved that way outside of self-defense.
Anyone who says "most" are like that is a grade A moron. True mutual abuse does exist but it is *extremely* rare, and reactive "abuse" (really don't even consider it abuse) is *not* a form of it.
Exactly this. I was watching a livestream yesterday where someone was both-sidesing it by coming up with more and more imaginary scenarios where she could have been just as bad. It was absolutely infuriating. Waiting for the full story is one thing, victim blaming and scrabbling for excuses is another.
That clip of him telling her to lay down like a good dog!? My jaw dropped. I watched him casually a few years ago and never would have guessed. That's what abusers do best though.
@Milo-it1tf Occums razor bud. That's a leap in logic. She's sniffling and gently correcting him to treat her nicer. I would not give the benefit of the doubt that it's kink.
@frozenraspberries1552 I’m just saying that as wired enough as he is I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a kink thing, mind you I said if, I know what he did, I have eyes and ears
Reactive abuse is such a dumb word for that honestly. Like what do you expect would happen? You don't corner a scared animal and then blame it when it bites you - getting in the face of someone will obviously make them defend themself??
When I hear 'reactive abuse' I imagine the initial victim actually... doing abuse, not just repeatedly lashing out. Like, fully turning the dynamic around. Those things are very different, yet the term conflates them. Verbal abuse isn't the same as fighting words from someone chased into a corner, but I hear reactive abuse used as a term applied to just... anyone that lashes out at their abuser. Throw the whole term out, honestly
That's the best example for people who ask "how could you not notice they were abusive?" He portrayed himself as such a sympathetic guy and "believe the victims" type of person. Abusers don't act like villians, they act like "nice people" until the door is closed
Yeah. My dad was a cryer, very performative emotionally at any kind of public event. People thought he was so soft and gentle for that. But he never let us cry, or emote much at all, so whenever we tried to tell anyone, he would just turn on the waterworks and people would rush to make excuses for him. "He feels so deeply, especially for a man" kind of thing. While his wife and children had been trained to be stoic on punishment of mockery or pain. Abusers always present themselves as either righteous or sympathetic or gentle. And they tend to believe those lies too

I dont even think the whole seperate the art from the artist arguement applies here, the art IS the artist. Commentary/reaction content on youtube is built largely on the creators personality, especially the kind of videos Alex makes. His entire channel relies on his audience finding him likable and I don't think it's a hot take to say abusing your girlfriend makes you pretty unlikable, though to be fair Alex has never been very likable anyway so maybe some of his audience just doesnt care.
Totally agree, when the artist IS the art so to speak, it's very hard to separate them. To me that only works with art you can enjoy while hardly being aware of the artist (like you can read a book, watch a movie, view a painting, listen to a song etc and hardly be aware of the artist besides knowing their name), but personality-based creators are intrinsically part of their creation.
Wait, wasn’t this guy outted years ago? Did he not stay outted or something? Edit: Yup, Rachel brings it up about two minutes in. Turns out he was, at best, projecting his own issues, or actively obfuscating.

I also think theres a huge difference between still liking an award winning artists work but not giving them money, and being loyal to a random drama channel where the same topics are covered by dozens of other drama youtubers
Agreed. Enjoying Alex's content is literally enjoying his personality, whereas an artist usually has a team of people who make the art good... and the art usually isn't the artist itself. With Alex, the "art" is the “artist“.

I don’t like the idea of censoring or deplatforming anyone, but when they’re using their position to do harm, that’s when it becomes a legitimate option.
The fact that there’s apparently MORE things that Alice hasn’t included is so scary. Who knows what this man could have done to her if she didn’t leave him.
It’s really sad and angering to see people have more compassion for a hypothetical falsely accused man over actual survivors. I understand wanting to wait for evidence to come out, but I don’t think that has to lead to the automatic assumption that the victim is lying when they are most likely not.
Yeah, at the end of the day (and this doesn't even apply in this situation there's way too much evidence to just call them allegations at this point), I'd rather support a potential liar than a potential rapist.
it's especially wild since alex himself made false accusations. so like it's okay when alex is known to have done that, but it's not okay when they just _think_ his ex did it when there's no reason for her to be lying or even evidence she is? it's crazy.
there's a huge Venn Diagram overlap between people who think only men can be funny, women are only valued for their appearance, abusers should be forgiven due to being funny, and victims should be doubted due to being attractive.
It's sad though because when women are "unattractive" they're also discredited because "who'd want to f her or R her she's so gross" women can't win no matter what we do and it's just so disheartening
The thing I'll never understand about the "clout chaser" argument is... what clout? There's nothing to be gained from making these accusations. The concept is absurd. Believe women. It's not hard.
People said that in response to Surviving R Kelly, because many of those women wrote books about their experiences or were invited to speak at some event or another. But that's... literally the most "clout" I've ever seen a survivor accrue, and getting a book deal is hardly worth the horrors they experienced. I'm not going to say that those women never wanted to be in the spotlight - many were targeted because they wanted to be famous singers and R Kelly used that to get into their lives - but most of them now just want their stories to be heard. They just want to be believed. And that is, I think, what most victims and survivors want: just to be believed and supported. And it's horrible that we live in a society that won't even give them that
You know, the clout of having everything about you question to oblivion. The clout of being hated by the huge following your abuser has. The clout of having to defend yourself over and over again. It's a dream come true, of course that's what people wish for... Am being majorly sarcastic, in case it's not clear.
19:10 do they not know that people with bpd flock to abusive people in high numbers? Her having BPD almost backs up the liklihood of her story, not discredit it!?
These incidents always expose how little the average person knows about DV and victims. Yet they still want to comment on it as if they do know. It's like they're brainrotted to talk about all this as if its "drama" and "tea."
I was looking if somebody made this comment! Every time I see people talk about BPD online, it's always "they're the worst, they're abusive, unstable, they'll fuck you over, avoid them like a plague!" and while sure, people with BPD can be awful and abusive, they are also prime targets for abusive relationships, just like you pointed out. Having BPD doesn't automatically make you an awful person.

I've been watching ImAllexx for years. He definitely *"snaps"* (best word I can use) to the point where you can tell he's not longer in control of his emotions and his emotions are in control of him. And his emotions aren't based on reality, but very fluid notions of irrelevant morales that he can bend to his will depending on how much he wants to destroy someone. Lots of red flags, but I never thought he would be this bad in real life. I always thought "he criticises other people, so surely he'd be able to catch himself and avoid doing any damage to someone in real life, even if he has emotional issues". The ironic thing is, after making videos criticising hundreds of people for almost a decade. Alex ended up being way worse than almost anyone he's criticised, and there's much more proof of it than with the people he's been criticising. My admiration goes out to his former girlfriend. She keeps a level head and seemingly mostly just uses his own behaviour against him during arguments without actually engaging in any cruelty towards him -basically just holding up a mirror to him, and it's incredibly effective. He cannot cope with her describing his true self as an ab*ser, so he immaturely just tries to ab*se her into stopping her honest interpretation of his behaviour, but it doesn't work so he ab*ses her even more. The cycle never ended. Many of us that have had narcissistic ab*sers recognise his behaviour instantly in those leaks. Wish I'd realised it earlier.
He always seemed off to me. After the Slazo situation, I stayed away from his content. If he truly has emotional regulation problems, he is absolutely the type of person to hurl insults and threats to the closest person to him. His fans are something else. Degrading that poor woman while she provided so much evidence is insane to me. It's quite interesting how his fans screech about "false allegations" and "clout chasing" as if Alex wasn't the one to participate in falsely accusing Slazo to eliminate the competition.
omg i ALSO had an experience with an officer who kept saying "are you sure this isnt your fault? are you sure that you didnt want it? what did you do to provoke him" etc and dropped the charges. im so glad you had people who were kind and understood and went back to you to apologize for that.
i occasionally watched alex' videos on topics i knew but i never followed him, and hadn't heard of these accusations until now, and my heart hurts. listening to recordings of him threatening her was so upsetting, i got really choked up. people *still* supporting him is so absurd...
I used to watch Alex 5 years ago, but stopped after the Slazo situation- most of his youtube friends left him, so I took note. Now I'm really not surprised that he turned out to be an awful person. It sickens me and saddens me deeply to see what he has become.
I've seen some of Alex's friends put out statements and particularly inabber kept reiterating to support Alice which I give props to. It seems they were left in the dark on what happened. I wonder if Alex ever threatened them the way he did to Alice.
Glad to hear that, the only reason that I have even heard of him is because Alex has a podcast with iNabber and it showed up in my recommended one day.
I'm surprised they were friends with him in the first place after what he did years ago. I can't say that I'm surprised that he is this horrible of a person. My heart goes out for the survivor of his abuse.
Yeah, I’ve been talked to like this before. He tried to make me feel like everything was on me, but thankfully I cut him off. So much anger in people like this, it’s scary.
As a 43 year old narcissistic abuse survivor (I am male, my abuser is female) with BPD. I can 100% say the "reactive abuse" is a misnomer. Narcissists seek out people with emotional reactivity to gain plausible deniability. After my ex left (she abandoned our kids with me too), she had me convinced it was my fault. It took a LOT of therapy for me to see what had really happened. I wish you well in your recovery and I am glad to see you doing better.
As a survivor i went to the police, i did the rape kit, i tried to press charges, hell i even had voice recordings of my abuser admitting all these terrible things he did. Not only did this not go anywhere, many people in my life did not believe it happened at all. Believe all victims, you don't know how much they have gone through to find the courage to speak out
God so much of what he said and did to her is so reminiscent of my own ex whos a famous artist, and I just..know no one will ever believe how I was treated, so i'm so glad shes being heard
I can’t help but to feel like this vile attitude towards DV on the internet really revealed itself during Depp v Heard. I remember watching all the commentary and seeing the comments on that situation at the time, and as a survivor, all I could think was, ‘this is why I didn’t go through with the trial [with my ex].’ Even the prosecution, the people who were supposed to be on my side, told me he would drag my name and character through the mud- was I sure I could handle that? They actively pushed me to let him take a plea deal. I wound up deciding against the trial and trying to move on with my life with my new partner. I just learned about a week ago that one of the injuries from my ex resulted in a TBI that went undiagnosed for almost seven years. I regret not going to trial. So much of recovery from DV is learning to deal with the regret and desire to do things differently if you could, if you could have only seen the signs sooner. And acceptance of what life will be going forward, now that this person has affected and hurt you so fundamentally and deeply. These attitudes towards abuse- things like the myth of “mutual abuse”- are pervasive, invading everything from the internet to the justice system. I will never judge or blame someone for not speaking up or pursuing charges, it’s no wonder they don’t when this is the treatment they get. It takes a miraculous act of courage to speak up about this at all.
Mutual abuse isn't a myth, it's just *extremely* rare and the term is wrongfully applied to things like reactive "abuse" (quotes because it's really not even abuse, honestly). True mutual abuse is an extreme form of a toxic relationship. It could be argued that it's not truly abuse if you go by the definition that abuse requires a definite victim, but it certainly exists.
@@Keznen the term “mutual abuse” is referred to as a myth because it is typically used as a manipulation and victim blaming tactic. True mutual abuse is not technically DV. Per a National DV shelter organization: “…a type of mutual abuse exists. It’s often called situational couple violence. But it isn’t part of domestic violence. It happens between people who have poor conflict resolution skills and don’t know how to communicate. So, when they are talking about things like whether to go on vacation or buy a car, they may engage in mutual, low-level violence...Unlike DV, it’s not driven by the need to exert power and control over another person.”
Honestly the Depp V Heard scenario cemented in my mind the fact that victims aren’t clout-chasers, because what Amber received wasn’t “clout”, it was harassment and violence.
@@babyvia6712True. I was so baby brained while watching the whole thing. Despite being raised in a DV household, or maybe because of it, I sort of wanted to believe the idea of reactive abuse (which I falsely considered mutual abuse back then) mostly cuz I wanted to justify my parents still being together despite hating each other's guts. I wanted to think that my mom might be engaging back in some form of toxicity because she cant leave things behind. It took me about a week to realise the amount of slander and hatred Amber was getting cuz people had found someone whom they could prop up as the face of 'woman abusing man'. The lengths people went to falsify her statements and proofs, all the while maintaining plausible deniability. The bias was clear from the beginning. It's such a shame that we pick apart victims of trauma like this and punish them for coming out with their accounts. Depp got it all back despite being a wife beater and abuser and Amber came out tarnished as a toxic manipulator for some reason when his literal messages prove how much of a despicable person he is. These tactics are so familiar to me that I wonder why I was so blind back then.
I can’t imagine gaining the courage to come out online against your abuser, just to immediately be told the same things they told you by all of their supporters
She probably slowly released her statement to test the waters. But then sometimes you have to release what you can so that the abuser won’t potentially take advantage of the situation
this also reminds me of the wilbur soot situation. it was so heart warming to see so many people believe shelby but also there were and still are so many cruel people disregarding hee abuse and as a survivor myself, it was so hard to read or see those at all.
I love how supportive Kyra was being, coming up and wanting to nuzzle when she saw your distress. I know she's done that before, but it was really noticeable here. What a good girl.
Thank you for your sharing your story and supporting Alice. After Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, people have been terrible to victims of abuse who are public. It is good to see the support.
"These are just Alice's experiences". My man, my dude. He threatened to bash her head in with a brick. That's pretty fecked, no matter how you look at it.
People really don't understand that coming out with stories like this gets you INTENSE backlash, it's unreasonable to assume it's for "clout" when you're more than likely to get death threats at a minimum.
They were only together for a year. Imagine having a page worth of evidence every 4 and a bit days of your relationship (on average), and that’s not including the stuff she didn’t manage to capture. As a survivor my heart breaks for her.
What I find interesting about the "innocent until proven guilty" defence people throw out to undermine victim allegations is that they're essentially only applying that mantra to the person accused of abuse and not the alleged victim who they are thereby accusing of defamation. What about innocent until proven guilty status? Basically they're denying that the victim went through anything at all, which we wouldn't do with almost any other crime. We don't immediately jump to disbelieving people in our lives who claim to have been burgled or gotten into a car crash accidentally just on the small chance they could be insurance scammers. But for some reason people are quick to do that with victims of abuse.
Personally, I’ve said for the longest time that a woman coming forward against her abuser has nothing to gain in a society that treats abusers better than victims.
I am a domestic violence survivor, and I did go ahead and press charges - my ex was charged with 15 serious charges, some violence (assault with a weapon, aggravated assault etc) some s. assault charges - (S assault, aggravated S assault, S assault with a weapon), also unlawful confinement and counselling suicide (he told me to kill myself repeatedly - I had screenshots of some of them!) - that last one is a really rare charge because many people don't survive to contact the police. It was a 10 day trial, and I was on the witness stand for five of those days. The most stressful time of my life, especially because he kept trying to contact me in the courthouse - he would be waiting at the entrance for me to arrive. I had to be escorted to the courtroom by the sheriffs! And at the end of it all he was acquitted on a technicality... That was a real gut punch! The judge actually said that she was convinced that he did the things I was claiming but that she had no choice to acquit, and then she looked right at me and apologised for having to do so! The Bstard got away with everything that he did to me over the 15 years that we were together! He is now saying that I lied about the whole thing and he was found "innocent" - he was not. The judge acquitted hi on a technicality that is a HUGE difference! Basically, the police F.ed up on some of their evidence. Even now, 10 years after the trial, I still live in fear - he has stalked me online to the point I had to change my name, he is constantly trying to find me. He has made false claims of S. assault to the police about me (he got the dates wrong - it could not have happened at those dates and I was able to prove it). I had to move away from where I was living. I have lost jobs and friends and people I care about because of this. He has made my life totally awful because I dared to report him to the police!
I've seen that Memeulous has released a statement completely condemning Alex's behaviour which is great. Kurtis Connor I don't know at all but as for James Marriott, I have personal reasons for not liking him and he's stayed silent so far so I don't have high hopes.
I don’t think it’s fair to include Kurtis in this considering the full extent of their interaction was a couple of tweet exchanges 2 years ago, and it’s likely he doesn’t even know about the allegations considering it came out yesterday
@fawnieee That happened in 2019. Kurtis likely didn't even know about Alex's involvement in that drama either as he isn't involved in the drama scene on UA-cam. Knowing the kind of guy that Kurtis is, I seriously can't imagine he would support anyone involved in issues like these ones as someone who has shown strong condemnation of abusers and support for victims. The guy barely knew Alex and just had a few interactions with him on Twitter in 2022. It could be that he learned about the allegations after the few times they communicated and cut ties since we've seen no interactions between them since then.
Its so nice to finally hear a women speaking about this, I have nothing but respect and admiration for Alice. Absolutely hideous that people still try to justify Alex's actions when the evidence is so clear.
@@dagbeet i was really young and the fact he was openly bisexual made his channel and community a safe space for me but yeah i ve got quit bored of his content for a while now
God, it's really jarring seeing those clips of Alex behaving that way! I used to watch him some years ago, and although he could make some kinda rude jokes he mostly gave me the impression of someone who'd be kind of awkward and timid in person - I'd have much more easily expected him to be a victim of domestic abuse than a perpetrator! Really goes to show you don't truly know who a person is.
I haven't heard or seen anything about him for years and honestly, this type of behavior is sickening. I hope she has support and protection in her corner because speaking out about against people like Alex on the Internet can be damaging mentally and scary. I remembered what happened with the woman who came out about Jake Paul and she got so much harassment for it.
My heart hurts for both you and Alice. The abuse you two went through was shitty and never should have happened to begin with. It's bad enough to attack a partner, but to use their pets as leverage is a whole different level of scumbag behavior on the part of the abusers. I'd be in tears forever if someone did that to my cat Piper. Let the healing begin. It's a painful process, but healing is the only answer. Thank you for soldiering through this video, Rachel. You're fantastic.
This is the perspective I was waiting to hear. Thanks for speaking out and providing a survivor's view of this. Also, the docs are utterly damning. There is no context he could give that'd clear his name.
There is no justification for the videos. He’s got some sort of mental issue, and I would be terrified to be around him. I’ve seen comments talking about how unintimidating he is. When you are dealing with a person that flies off the handle at the littlest thing, it is scary. It doesn’t matter if he’s a weak looking British guy when he’s threatening violence.
On the topic of "clout chasing" - I once read, "Do you know the names of any of the Cosby accusers? What about Kevin Spacey's?" and never forgot it. For all that victims are accused of just "seeking attention" with accusations, it never actually earns them fame - the names of victims are rarely remembered, just the accusation itself. Of all the ways to get clout, to get remembered, it seems like speaking about abuse does not seem to be very successful. Also, the idea that women just want clout and attention and that the way they choose to do that would involve cribbing off a powerful / popular man reeks of sexism; like a woman can't POSSIBLY get attention any other way except by getting via a man. it's just very silly. There's so many risks that come with an abuse accusation especially of someone with a following - including cops and the legal system, the stigma of being a victim, harassment, being targeted by fans and doxxed, so on. Nowadays if you want clout, you can just, yknow, start a drama channel like everyone else. Even reprehensible methods like saying slurs or insane conspiracy theories work to get attention if someone believes "even negative press is good press" - but abuse accusations actually have a legal weight to them, and often result in genuine death threats and harassment by fans, so a lot of people motivated for attention do not touch them. It's just not worth it. It kinda implies another underlying assumption that women will not only lie to get fame, they also do so *completely irrationally* - lying despite the immense amount of legal and physical danger it could put them in and the many, many other safer and more effective ways to get attention, money and fame.
I'm so sorry to hear of your experience with the police. I had a slightly similar situation where after being harassed all summer they gave my abusive ex a warning to not contact me, and he still tried so I let the police know and the officer on the phone kept saying "oh it sounds like he just misses you, I don't think he means any harm" I started crying on the phone and hyperventilating and my mum just took the phone off me and went off on the officer. When even the people who are supposed to protect you refuse to see what you're telling them it's such a gut-wrenching feeling.
@@gillfreddie4100She admitted that herself, felt remorse over that, and even expressef with this situation believeing first but still looking at the whole situation. She admitted she was wrong for believing Slazo's accuser, while ImAlex has not done that, so it's more important to focus your attention there.
@@gillfreddie4100Don't worry. We know no amount of hard proof would ever be enough for the likes of you anyway. Also, she never specified women. She said that her default is to believe VICTIMS which includes men who come forward. Same way men can be victims of abuse, they can also lie about it
I am also a survivor. Thankfully, not to the extent that you and Alice went through, but I have been made to feel like everything was my fault. I was called names, I was insulted, I was HEAVILY manipulated, and I was controlled. I’ve felt the powerlessness before. I’ve been made to feel like it would kill them if I tried to leave. I’ve begged for forgiveness before. It’s a terrible feeling. ALL survivors, men women and children, DESERVE for their stories to be heard. They deserve to scream it if they want to. You and Alice are inspiring me to never, EVER allow myself to be treated like that again. I hope Alice knows so many survivors have her back and are with her, and I hope justice will be served with this one.
I get so easily confused on that part of the Internet thanks for this. I never wanna end up supporting abusers and it gets so hard to sort actual shit from the weird fake allegations like Slazo and Kwite.
Its so so so angering why people like about abuse like that. It not only hurts someone's reputation for years even if its proven false. It'll still be "wasnt that the guy who got accused of abuse years ago,I mean I'm 98% sure he proven innocent" unless they're huge stars who get TV specials about it.
I recently was recommended him from the algorithm and began to watch his content. I knew nothing of his life before. After what I know now, I can't in good conscious continue to watch him.
Enablers will refuse to see any proof, no amount of evidence will satisfy them. I'm also a survivor of domestic abuse, I remember being attacked in public bleeding from my face from an unprovoked attack. The people around just refused to see me, I could see their eyes slide off, that my existence made them uncomfortable. Yes I tried going to the police, they made things actively worse. If someone shows me that they lack the character to see and support victims? I can't make them see, but enablers are complicit with abusers and I'm grouping them together. I'm glad you're free and clear for the most part now wishing you health healing and happiness going forward.
From an occasional long-time viewer who's also been through emotional abuse, I'm always so impressed and proud (if that's appropriate) how you're handling videos about abuse. I'm really glad that you've been able to build this platform, and that you're using it so responsibly and effectively with great consistency over the years. This is what we need: more victims/survivors speaking out in from an informed and empathetic perspective to stand with other people who are going through it just now.
Not surprising at all after what he did to Slazo. One who does something like that to someone they call a friend is one who has no qualms doing horrible things to someone they claim to love.
I’m not on UA-cam enough anymore to see what this platform has become. That poor girl. He speaks just like my father did to my mother. I will not support any of that group, and I’m disappointed I didn’t know all of this years ago when I bought merch. Very upsetting and I’m so glad you brought this to light. I never would’ve known…
I love how much you talk about this issue, thank you for being such a pillar of strength for all victims of DV and always standing up for what you believe in
I'm still pissed off he got away with what he did to Slazo. I didn't care for Alex before that, but I still watched collab videos he was in before that, but that was it. I refused to watch even collab videos from channels I used to like. I ended unsubbing from everyone who still publicly supported him after that. There were more that happened that were shady than the Slazo thing, too. I'm glad people are talking about this!
Men can LITERALLY be caught in 4k, and people still don't believe her or vict blame.
I haven't seen anyone defending him, but then again, I'm not on Twitter.

that's also why it's so hard for a lot of abuse victims to come out and talk about it, because abusers are so good at keeping up their façade that to everyone else it often comes as a surprise. or, even if it isn't totally a surprise, there's always some rationalisation; "but he was nice to ME?"

What I’ve learned, as an abuse survivor myself, is that people are sympathetic to the idea of an abuse victim, but they don’t always embrace the actual women who come forward.
Some groups call it "reactive violence" now, instead of "reactive abuse", to avoid exactly the BS narrative that abusers try to push
Or self-defense. DARVO is very real, and it's often the abusers claim to be the real victims. Or gaslight/guilt the victim into actually believing it.
Yes.
Not your baby noticing how upset you are at the 12-13 minute mark and coming to check on you. She is an angel in a fur suit.
It’s probably a weird kink thing for him, some people are in to treating their significant other as a dog, but I could be wrong
@frozenraspberries1552 I don’t even know what Occums razor is, so that flew over my head
@@Milo-it1tf respectfully you seem a bit young for something this serious are you okay at home
Reactive abuse is such a dumb word for that honestly. Like what do you expect would happen? You don't corner a scared animal and then blame it when it bites you - getting in the face of someone will obviously make them defend themself??
It feels like a victim blame-y term.
I feel like it means both sides are abusive, I could be way off though
@Milo-it1tf that's what the term mutual abuse is for though, or mutually toxic relationship.
@Theleafcuter oh, sorry I guess I might’ve mixed the two up
When I hear 'reactive abuse' I imagine the initial victim actually... doing abuse, not just repeatedly lashing out.
And they tend to believe those lies too
How can you not see he’s a lying liar who lies, a sexual abuser, felon, fraudster, conman, and traitor to his country. The evidence is all around you, girl. Wait, who are we talking about again?

Yeah, at the end of the day (and this doesn't even apply in this situation there's way too much evidence to just call them allegations at this point), I'd rather support a potential liar than a potential rapist.
it's especially wild since alex himself made false accusations. so like it's okay when alex is known to have done that, but it's not okay when they just _think_ his ex did it when there's no reason for her to be lying or even evidence she is? it's crazy.
no really, like this man has not done a single defensible thing in his life
Self report to empathize w an abuser imo
" hypothetical falsely accused man": It's not hypothetical and it's not alleged, either. We have video and audio evidence.
there's a huge Venn Diagram overlap between people who think only men can be funny, women are only valued for their appearance, abusers should be forgiven due to being funny, and victims should be doubted due to being attractive.

It makes me want to be more vulnerable with my art, like why protect the privacy of the ab*ser ya know
You're right about not being able to tell. My late Mum used to say, you never know what's going on behind closed doors, in privacy. The nicest chap can be a brute when the door closes. I'm shocked! I hope Alice is healing and I hope those dear kittens are safe.
DISGUSTING!!! OMG To threaten to bash her head in??? I’m so thankful she came out about this.

Yeah same, I was looking at the thumbnail for ages trying to work where I knew him from.
I used to watch Alex 5 years ago, but stopped after the Slazo situation- most of his youtube friends left him, so I took note. Now I'm really not surprised that he turned out to be an awful person. It sickens me and saddens me deeply to see what he has become.
Really ironic considering he slandered slazzo for false allegations. Sounds like it was projection.

I remember watching all the commentary and seeing the comments on that situation at the time, and as a survivor, all I could think was, ‘this is why I didn’t go through with the trial [with my ex].’
Even the prosecution, the people who were supposed to be on my side, told me he would drag my name and character through the mud- was I sure I could handle that?
But the court proved that heard actually abused depp… she had not a lick of evidence except the same picture she used twice with a different filter.
It's scary how openly he abused her. He did this shit in front of people, no shame, no hesitation. Imagine the horrors behind closed doors.
I can’t imagine gaining the courage to come out online against your abuser, just to immediately be told the same things they told you by all of their supporters
This is exactly what happens to victims pretty much every damn time.

I lost respect for him when he slandered Slazo. I didn’t expect this shit to come out.
@gillfreddie4100 At least she admits she was wrong to do so in that situation and she believed Slazo after he proved his innocence.
@@gillfreddie4100She admitted that herself, felt remorse over that, and even expressef with this situation believeing first but still looking at the whole situation. I don't recall her saying she believed the victim because she was a woman, she just said it was because she tends to believe the victim, not specifically a woman. She admitted she was wrong for believing Slazo's accuser, while ImAlex has not done that, so it's more important to focus your attention there.
@@gillfreddie4100 shows you didn't watch the video 👀
@@gillfreddie4100Don't worry. We know no amount of hard proof would ever be enough for the likes of you anyway. Also, she never specified women. She said that her default is to believe VICTIMS which includes men who come forward. If you need proof of that she fully stood behind Johnny Depp until it came out that HE was the one making false alligations. Funny isn't it?
Thank you for speaking about this, I had no idea! Hope his girlfriend gets out safe ❤
I'm glad you're free and clear for the most part now wishing you health healing and happiness going forward.
iirc, "Literally Who" is GamerGate jargon, which tells you everything you need to know about that commenter.
Im glad that you do this kind of video, Rachel. Evil thrives in silence and calling it out helps purge it from the world.
