Love this show especially Eli was my favourite character especially for example talking a sheep dog for a walk then later on hes walking the sheep not the dog so brilliant done and so sadly missed amongst the rest of this great cast great actors from other sit coms From Are you being served to George and Mildred etc...
I had these vague memories from when I was a child of an old British show with three guys walking around the English countryside (it would come on PBS - I'm from the US). When I was older I decided to use those memories to track it down online and when I found it, I watched about 30 seasons over the course of a few months. It was glorious. I also loved Absolutely Fabulous and Keeping up Appearances. I don't know why, but I've always found British TV, film, and literature to be so comforting.
I can watch "last of the summer wine" all day, I wish that I would have been able to meet them, they put a lot of joy in my spare time, I don't get out much, being 70 is not something that I like to show others about what a 70-Year-old man looks like, it's not fun getting old is what we do while getting to 70, never knew that I would ever get to be 70, but it has happened, to this Puerto Rican from New York City bye
Victor Nieves Hi, Victor! My Gosh, you`re 70, not dead!!! There is only 1 excuse for not going out and meeting with people and that is when sickness is involved. My dad is 77 and even after surviving leukemia 4 yrs ago, he is fit again, going out and mixing with people. I have MS and am bed driven most of the time, so that`s a different story. Honey, don`t wait until it`s too late. Go out, meet people, make an effort in making yourself presentable and stop worrying about the fact that you`re not a 20-year-old stud anymore. Age is no crime but not living while you still can is! I wish you strength to make the first step, however small, just DO IT. I would but I can`t! Cheers :)))
Who cares, I am 72 and deserve my wrinkles. I surrounded myself with laughter, lovely country, warm bed, food and fun. Who cares that I am old, I am me and the rest can stuff it! I deserve my age! Many of my friends have already died!
I remember the asian gentleman (Burt Kwouk). He played the role of majordomo in the inspector cloussou, pink panther movies along side of Peter Sellers. They were so hilarious together.😅
Me too , in a little Irish town , they walked the length of the town every night , sat on window sills & smoked & commented on passing people , the were nick named Compo & Co until one of them got struck on the ear by a safety belt of a passing lorry , he lost his ear and they were promptly renamed Ear to Ground Boys , ear to the ground was a program about the Country Side . They gave us years of entertainment with their strolls and window sill chats.Such Simplicity.
Elizabeth!!! Would you like your tea in my Royal Doulton hand painted periwinkle China or a beaker? I grew up on Keeping Up Appearances in the US. I've only recently found this show and I'm loving it!! Edit: and Captain Peacock!!!!! I'm just thrilled!!!
I loved Josephine Tewson on keeping up, and this series as well. she played a nanny in a 30-second commercial for Nabisco Fruit Newtons, widely aired in 1997 in the United States. they might have aired it in the UK as well.
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view!" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
and the best bit is when Basil , Sybil, and Mrs. Richards were in the Hotel office, and Mrs Richards was giving Basil what fore about 60 Lbs stolen from her room. and Basil moved his mouth but made no sound, and Mrs Richards turned her hearing Aid up a the way, and then Basil shouts at her and she bumps her head on a shelf. and Bail picks something up from the floor and asks Mrs Richards" Is this a piece of your brain!?" 🤣
R.I.P. to Her!, as for Her Character well why would She hang about with a Wet Wilf like Howard? She was okay for Her age & I would probably have been able to get Mine in Gear if You know what I mean!.i.
I like the new series where Hobbo and Alvin are trying to restore relations between the men and the women. They're getting the men to appreciate their wives and are working to soften up the women. Why don't the women surprise their husbands by giving in romantically? Marina, Glenda and Alvin are great characters because they haven't lost their 'joie de vivre'. At this juncture, senior abuse within the community is not funny. Where is the love, writer(s)?
Old women are the best gossipers there’s no doubt about that. All women are the same around the world, whether they are white black blue, yellow, green red, the same old gossip, nothing but gossiping all day, talking on the phone and making jam. That’s what they do all day long oh, I forgot and spend the whole day at the mall like a cafeteria at the mall
Howard & Marina were always going for bike rides and boat trips and pretending not to know each other if anyone saw them , enjoy all the episodes, Great old fashioned Yorkshire fun .
My late mother and I loved watching this show together. A beautiful, genuinely funny show.
THE WORLD WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE IF WE ALL HAD FRIENDS LIKE THESE !
Be that friend, the others will come.

You have excellent taste.😊
No crazy car chases, no guns, no crudeness, just lots of old fashioned plays on words humor. First class all the way.
Think is the rich oral tradition that is exhibited and the keen understanding of human nature with all its quirks and funnies.
It's like visiting my greataunts and uncles when I was very young in a small northern town in Minnesota.
One Foot in the Grave and As Time Goes By. also great show. Bucket, B,U,C,K,E,T
These guys are like a moment of comic relief during days of hibernation during spring break all alone..🎈

Love this show and characters. Watching it right now on you tube. Also love On The Buses, and Are You Being Served. ❤
I remember the asian gentleman (Burt Kwouk). He played the role of majordomo in the inspector cloussou, pink panther movies along side of Peter Sellers. They were so hilarious together.😅
RIP Robert Fyfe who played Howard.
Oh no😢
My 2 fav British shows, ARE YOU BEING SERVED, and LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE!!😍
This is one of my favorite episodes. Too funny 😂
Heartbreaking to hear the news of Roberts death today RIP Howard a true legend xxxxx
My great aunt met peter sallis many years ago while on holiday.
great show...lovely town to walk around in....
What’s it like now??
There are many episodes over the years and the BBC have them in archives!! they need to allow the license paying public to watch them!!
I knew three men in my town who would often walk around town and go into cafes, and chat away to you. Sadly all passed on now.
RIP Robert last of the old guard gone now male wise.
😢
Marina, The best ole tart in the business. Hands down!
!!
My daughter and I never miss the above shown it's too good for sure
I get so caught up in this ,can’t stop laughing 😆 I love ❤️ this 🥰😘😍
The guy polishing in the shop is Compo's mystery (as was) son. He was also Bill Owen's (Compo) real son. Their mannerisms are similar, too.
Love this show and the theme music. Also love are you being served? and keeping up appearances.
keeping up appearances was a work of art
Have you seen One Foot in the Grave, and Waiting for God?
Have you seen "Open All Hours"? Terrific!
Mrs Slocombe! (Are you being served?) She's always been quiet a lively lass! ❤😂
Always great for a laugh but I do miss Compo
I love that Marina finally has a female friend. I hope when I get old I can find a few friends like Cleggy, Truly and Compo.
Me too , im 62 .
Great series.
R.I.P Howard 😔
Thank you, Thomas,
Elizabeth!!! Would you like your tea in my Royal Doulton hand painted periwinkle China or a beaker?

@@GothGuy885 I'm going to have to look for it! Thanks! 😊
Alvin being cheeky to Nora, he needs some brush!
I would have loved to live there
Even if Howard had no Pearl to suppress him, I’m convinced that Marina would ultimately be more than he could handle!
I absolutely love this comedy. Love Alvin, Howard and sexy Marina. 😀
Barry and Glenda having fun priceless
Entwhistle learned how to give pain ,by being with peter sellers,,,,,🤣🤣🤣🤣
Absolutely superb!
Brian Murphy is 87 years old he has been in many programmes .
Also check out to the manor born and as time goes by
The most soporific show on TV.
Loved Marina haha
Me too. She was fantastic.
Howard my hero.❤️
All ways Great to watch 🙂
Nelly's husband Travis must be the most helpless person on earth.
Poor Howard would be scuppered with the cocooning social distance and isolation he could never sneak around and meet Marina..lol
I'm waiting till I'm 70 to watch this show. A couple of years to go. 💎
Nora and Wally Batty always remind me of Andy and Flo Capp
the best laughs.ever👍😷
Ann Ring,Gotti
How come that Pearl arrived at the Fox and Duck wearing a different hat from the one she was wearing when she left the house.
Was that a continuity slip? The hat on Pearl getting into taxi, seems a different one she was wearing in the pub.
I think Marina and Rose on keeping up Appearances could have been the best of friends.
.... or come to think of it, the worst of enemies !
I can't imagine UK traffic laws allowed riding in the back of pickup trucks in 2007.
Just like us Yorkshire Folk LOL

@@GothGuy885 THESE EGGS LOOK LIKE YOU LAID THEM !
That crazy Glenda.
Marina ❤🎉
Poor old Howard
This episode kind of reminds me of Jimmy Walker. It's DYNOMITE!!!!!
Marina was the best.
soothing
R.I.P. to Her!,
as for Her Character well why would She hang about with a Wet Wilf like Howard? She was okay for Her age & I would probably have been able to get Mine in Gear if You know what I mean!.i.
Rip shoe string.
Glenda learned to be as mean and nasty as the old women!!
Its not the same with out compo
Has anyone noticed that Pearl left the house wearing her beret but in the pub she is now wearing a green hat.??
Funny.

This is my 1st time watching this show. So, the married man is asking another woman out for dinner? Hmm.
Howard & Marina were always going for bike rides and boat trips and pretending not to know each other if anyone saw them , enjoy all the episodes, Great old fashioned Yorkshire fun .
