Not a religious person. But I have been listening to this song when I found it after my Hubby’s Mother passed in 2022 and have been listening to this because it has helped ease the pain that is always going to be there because it’s never going to get easier or be non existent.

Such a good song! So true. Do you feel like your relationship with God is hit and miss? I did. For 26 years. Know what changed everything? Honesty. I finally got blatantly, awkwardly, flagrantly honest with Him. Since then my life has never been the same, and He's never felt distant, or hard to reach, or unresponsive in 15 years. The key.. the absolute key to real relationship (with both God and man ... But especially God) .... Being honest. 😄

I attend Celebrate Recovery, a Christian-themed 12-Step program. Step 1 of the program says "We admitted we were powerless over our addictions and compulsive behaviors, that our lives had become unmanageable. ." That's pretty much what this song says. Claiming that we thought we had things under control, when in reality our lives were out of control and unmanageable. There is a reason why this was chosen as the first step of the 12 steps, because it *is* the first step. Until we admit that, we are going nowhere.
Is there a celebrate recovery program in Utah. I currently attend regular a.a. and n.a. but the only religious based 12 step in Utah is the LDS 12 step and if like something different

I just can’t get enough of this song. I have Mental Illness, with suicidal ideations, but I focus on the damage it would do to so many people. But as a nurse, and a director of music at a church, no one could find out! I kept the secret hidden so that I wouldn’t be found out. So when I attempted suicide and was taken to the small hospital where I worked, everyone was so surprised. But when my church found out, and I was out of the hospital, people would tell their stories of family members who were depressed or who suffered from some kind of mental illness. Matthew, you are helping to break the stigma. Thank you.

i was hypnotized by music and ever since, ive been getting fevers, and getting other harmful sicknesses. Is God there? My family are christians and we are missionaries in Danang Vietnam. Moved here almost 3 years ago, just turned 13, my mom doesn't believe that I'm sick. My dad doesnt relly show he cares very much. Not sure what to do. My cat is my only....like....friend.

This is me! Always the encourager...never encouraged. Lately though I am depleted! Not much left but still pouring out from my sparceness. My own tank is empty, running on E...but I will roll until there is nothing left, nothing! I know who I am. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and that will never change. The Bible says encourage yourself in the Lord. So that's what I do. Here at the fill-up station, The Word of God! That the word dwell in us richly (that means a lot!!!) and then weild the word of God back in the enemys face when he( all those allowing themselves to used for his purposes, which are never good!) Walk in power and authority. It's been given to us as believers to do devastation to the kingdom of darkness. BAM

Tell the right people you’re hurting. I use to be everyone’s encourager and wondered the same thing. But I wasn’t allowing anyone in through vulnerability in the moment. I pray god shows you who you can talk to honestly. When we are honest with ourselves and others people step up, they just need to be told the truth through vulnerability

This song expresses all of my feelings I had when my brother died from a heroin overdose and people said he MADE a choice. To those that knew him he never wanted this. Forever 23 years old LOVE YOU JACK always remembered never forgotten.
I'm so sorry that you lost your brother, Jack, to an overdose. People can say such harsh things to people suffering grief and the loss of a loved one. It's like kicking someone when they are already down on the ground! Jesus never left your brother's side during his life, and through his addiction, Hebrews 5:2 says of Jesus, our High Priest,
"He is able to deal gently with the spiritually ignorant and misguided, since he is also subject to human weakness.". He will never leave your side either, and Jesus can handle all our raw brokenness, "..Because God has said,' Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.' So we can say with confidence, 'The LORD is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" Hebrews 13: 5b-6

Hannah, I also feel your pain. My 29 year old brother died of a drug overdose a month ago. He never wanted this. He was in a center detoxing when he had a seizure and did not revive. He was down and depressed and fighting a battle none of us ever understood. God bless you in your grief. I understand.

I hope 2020 broke some of these lies. We need to check on our brothers and sisters more often! I’ve lost 3 people I love so very, very much to suicide. The last loss was h the e hardest because he had SO much light and made such a huge difference in my life!
We’re here to love and to be authentic and real. It’s okay to ask for help! I know our Heavenly Father understands mental illness. I’ve been in that darkness before too. I’m grateful for His grace. I know they’re whole but I miss them so much!

Church is not a hospital. It's not for sinners. Church is for those who have repented and stopped their wickedness and now live for God.
Yes we all have sin, but we are no longer sin factories, producing sin by the truck load.
We have come to the healer, Jesus. And now we are healed.
If u teach that church is for sinners, you get what we have today. A bunch of fake churches filled with fake Christians who think that we can do as we please, since jesus died for our sin.
They claim they don't teach that, but that sure is how the people in church behave.
As if they don't know jesus, because they don't.
I just lost my husband this week in a tragic accident on the turnpike. We were separated for a little bit because I let my alcoholism get the best of me let's just put it at that..He got in my car one day and I played this song for him and it literally led him to Jesus. He said it was the rawest song he ever heard and it reminded him of me and how Jesus worked in my life.. he was saved right before he died I truly believe it's because of this song ...believe me when I tell you why I'm listening to this song over and over again.. it soothes my soul bc I know he is in heaven with our Lord and savior
