  • The TOPS Knives Operator 7 is a monster blade (.31 inches thick) and with the help of the Little Bugger, this (I think) is a solid large knife/small knife system for the outdoors. Check out the video and tell me what you think about them.

    I've had my Operator 7 for awhile now and I absolutely love it. I've retired a couple of my knives because of it. Tops nailed this knife to the T beautiful blade. It goes well with my Tops skullcrusher and Tops police interceptor. Highly recommend any of those knives. My police interceptor is my edc for several years now with zero complaints.

    • @chuckbergman4855
      @chuckbergman4855 4 роки тому +2

      @@brent_2862 sorry I missed your reply, it honestly depends on what your doing. For practical useage outdoors, the Operator7 will cover everything for me. The Skullcrusher is something else, it's an all out beast! I've made firewood with both, but the Skullcrusher is more effort to use especially it you are already low energy or tired. They are both outstanding knives. If you have any other questions feel free to ask, again sorry I missed your reply.

    Glad to see you review this one. I've been eying it up for awhile now, but honestly I really don't need another fixed blade. I have 12 or 13 of them now..but....that doesn't mean I won't buy it, lol. It really is a big bad ass knife, and I do just LOVE tactical looking knives, regardless of the fact that I do not do the whole knife fighting thing...I just like the looks of them.
    Funny you mentioned cleaning fish with the small Lil Bugger..I saw a vid that Matt Graham put out, (I think it was on WIngman's channel) that showed him using it, cleaning fish..lol. Love that kydex system, and REALLY like the look of that leather over kydex sheath. No question kydex is better over all, but I love leather..combining the two is just pure genius! Thank you for another well done review!

      Without having this blade in hand I could see if it’s real thick and heavy to stick with the regular Ka bar which is still a great military knife maybe a thinner option with the same one piece blade handle and guard construction I’d rather 1095 but I can see an operator wanting an even easier steel to sharpen than 1095 I prefer a tough 5160 with a 54-55 Rockwell tough steel and easy to sharpen in the field unless your a navy seal than cpm154 or AEB-L which are my favorite stainless or u could go super stainless with a full tang spyderco in H1 which I like except H1 steel will scratch super easy u clean it with a cloth that’s not silky smooth you can scratch H1 really annoying yo me but for a battle it’s probably gonna get scratched anyway sorry I think of knives and can talk forever I’d sure love a job in knives if anyones listening a the best employee is the one who loves his job 😉 😉

      @@barrybueler3356 No need to apologize- I could also speak in knife for considerable amounts of time.

      I never knew about H1 scratching- all of my stainless knives are well over a decade old so I pay little attention to the finish. Was looking at a Tops bob in the cpm154 but wasn't sure how easy it was to beat on and then clean up to work with.
      With the stainless blades do you find they have a higher rate of getting those little chips on the edge?
      May I ask what you sharpen with?

      Apradavra yeah I only have one knife in H1 after seeing how it scratched it might be 154cm on the stainless bob which is a good stainless but cpm154 is better probably my second favorite outdoor steel behind AEB-L both are very close to a stainless O1 or A2 in my opinion AEB-L is a little easier to sharpen but cpm154 probably holds an edge a little longer I have the bob in1095 great blade I’ve heard people say the grind doesn’t get sharp enough but I haven’t had a problem especially for a woods knife it’s not like The KABAR BK2 which is a giant fat grind took me an hr on the grinder for the bk2 to be acceptable the utube channel Dutch bushcraft knives has a great video on the stainless BOB and they really put it through its paces really took a beating well if u are interested before any purchase

      To me, without any belly, you'd have a tough job not ruining the pelt, but to just get the hair/ fur off your meat, perhaps. This shape to me is the best profile shape if one is NOT skinning game. Yoyr milage varies apparently

    Could become my perfect girl substituting my a1 pro but that upper guard is walking on my nerves. And nan, thank you, your reviews are great.

    You really need to ditch that Kizer relationship and forge one with an American Manufacturer or Distributor...

    I like everything about this knife except the curve in the blade. looks nice however, not needed. straight edge with drop point is much better in the field. Tops operator 7 is nice but I will skip this one.
