One of the tricks I picked up from my power boating days was using white vinegar and car wash (with wax) soap to clean my gear. The white vinegar dissolves salt and the car wash will leave a very light protective coating. I just add to a garden hose sprayer and drench everything in it.
Yeah, that paddle actually still gave me problems the next time i paddled, but on that paddle I got it wet a couple of times and it worked itself out .
Sponge. They work great on all boats to remove that little excess water that is so hard to get to. A good sponge will remove a lot of water with a single squeeze. 303 UV Protectant, or some other brand of protectant. Sunlight damages all boats, they need sunscreen too.
Great questions. I use regular household cleaners, but for mold I specifically use anything with a little bleach. Be careful using on cloth, seats, spray skirts, things like that. It can discolor those items.
This is great! I just started paddling saltwater so great timing with the video! Definitely takes more post paddle care. Thanks!
Glad to hear it Rob! Love your instagram feed!

That's actually a really good idea. Ill try it! thanks!
Amazing how quickly salt water can set up. This is a whole new skill set for me.

Totally agree on both. Though I tend to use the 303 more on my drysuit…
Do you drive down the highway with cockpit cover on?
Always. Keeps it dry, protects the inside from UV in bright sun. Keeps critters from making a home.
