The best way to “move” sand is compressed air from underneath. Water only makes it harder because you have to saturate before it has the same effect.
Air lifts and in to people's eyes. Water carries it down to the belt. Also cleans the barge for the next product.
Air compressors are heavy and expensive. The water no doubt comes from right under the barge.
Get a couple of 500lb plate tampers on each side and vibrate the sand down.

This is amazing however you didn’t show the barge completely empty. You’re only showing 2/3 of the video if you don’t get to see the barge empty
There is a full video over one hour long that shows the whole thing. I do not chose to sit for 1 hour to watch sand fall.🤣🤣🤣 So I am here.
Traducion
Interesting but not that exciting.
I saw a couple other videos...they are not completely emptying the containers. They put the blocks back in. Is it part of the contract they keep a percentage? Or skimming? I don't know.
nice, you just spoiled the ending. Thanks a lot
What have I just got addicted to? This is the 3rd video in a row I've watched
It would seem like there's a better way to do this
This is probably my 10th video LOL I want this job hahaha
Me too. I'm trying to figure out why it's necessary to ship boatloads of dirt around the world. WTF are they transporting?
@@jx14aby
What, should be obvious
Why? That's obvious if you've ever been to the landscaping section of a home improvement store.
Rock, pebbles, sand, ore, all are sellable product to the right buyer.
Perhaps some educational videos on construction techniques, starting with "clearing the space"
@@jx14aby you seriously don't understand?
If these guys would use a square shovel instead of water they could get the sides to slide in alot easier
Dust suppression is important.
Washed clean for the next commodity
There is nothing I would want to wear more than a pair of flip flops on a wet 40 degree slope! The only thing that might make this more dangerous if the the belt was replaced with a screw auger! Yikes.
I'm quite sure that hanging off a swinging rope (one handed) while prodding a pile of loose dry sand with the other would not go down well with any Safety Inspector
Please show us the emptying of the barge all the way to the end. Your videos end way too early. Also, why is there a cut in the film every time a huge portion of the hill comes down? I've noticed this on quite a few of your titles. Please stop editing the vids and let us see the action from start to finish. Love your vids as they are hypnotizing. Thank you.
I agree raw video from start to finish....you always miss the money shot....
I mean... at least these guys aren't worrying about massive rocks shattering their ankles, and the noise of the sand is pretty quiet.
I think the water is meant to keep the sand moving horizontally along the canal.
Looks like an easy way to lose a limb or two.
It's OK he has his safety flip flops on x
Not really clear what the hosepipe guys are contributing, other than making the sand flow really slowly and making it really slippery for the main man.
Possibly keeping dust to a minimum?
Where do I have to move to so I can have this job? ☺️
RIGHT
Since when did playing in the sandbox become a job?😊
😮Siete graaaaandi😅
Опасная работа😵
Why is the video not 30 minutes or until the end of the work?
That looks safe
till he ruins his back, the other ship used a cable to pull the blocks out...work smarter not hard
They are using a cable
What with all the wood that's being taken out off the conveyor under the sand??
That's how they meter the flow. If all the sand was on the conveyor at the same time, it would put too much pressure on the belt and it could not move. The wood keeps the sand off the belt until he pulls another board to allow more sand to flow.
@@maximussparkus6933 thank you for letting me know
I think the boards cover the conveyor so the material doesn’t lay on it. The conveyor wouldn’t be able to move with all that weight on it.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉yes OK ✔️
Vodu tam striekajú úplne zbytočne, iba mu to sťažujú. Lepšie by to išlo suché. Vodu by som použil až na koniec
That is soo dangerous..how many workers have mangled there feet falling onto the conveyor? Has to be a better way,,,
no safety harness?>......where OSHA be at??
I could have watched that another 9 mins
Why do I get the feeling that their employer doesn’t carry worker’s compensation insurance?
There’s not a better way to do this?
Guys, this video is 100% genuine.
Evidently someone is doing something somewhere.
Imagine yourself, doing this work 6-7 days a week., for years. Even after 1 year, you would look like you're 70, just from the stress alone.
Stolen video
I don't think "Health" and "Safety" translate into Mandarin
1000 maneras de morir
Purple shirt guy sure is passionate about piles of sand
Yeah right, red bandana guy is in all the videos! He's the best
This is scary. There are no safety provisions for these workers.... one could easily fall in the flue..... can't they at least have a harness attached to a wall so they are safer.... especially the guy in the middle (doing most of the work.) Also masks might be in order .... I don't think sand is good for the lungs...but I could be mistaken. 😳
Longer videos are worth watching. See the whole job.
I can't understand why these barges don't have air opperated vibrators that would make the product flow to the conveyor better. Only need them in short bursts.
You need to show from the beginning how they start to unload the ship instead of halfway through it
That is the beginning , that's all the load ...3500 tons....7 million pounds, probably all the barge can carry
The video is ending to early ! Try recording it to the boat is almost empty .
I've seen one where they clear to the end.
It was .... aaaaaaaaaaaaah.
Why not show the whole video? Can't watch half of a video. We want the whole video. So please keep this in mind for the next one's. If not I will unsubscribe immediately..
Where is the sand transported to?
Wow, that guy's wearing a high-vis vest! That's taking worker safety a bit far, isn't it?
Yet wearing a pair of sliders! The guy on the other side is the same 🙄
This would be a nice job doing this all day every day in nice warm weather and it’s probably a decent paying job
Show complete job not 1/2 done,it's A very strenuous dedicated job 👍, shoveling from the sides will speed up the job
They are clearly using the water for the sides. No point shoveling, when you can put the hose in and at some point the sand just slides on the water to the belt.

I love the feeling of sand in my toes.
Water will make it stickier, using a showel will be a better choice
Does that seem a bit sketchy? What happens if the blue shirt guy loses his footing and falls into the chute?
I don't think safety is high on their corporate agenda. But at least they water down the load to keep the dust down.
There's one of these videos of just that happening one guy in the back has a kill switch for the belt and the guy who fell just got back up. Only took a second and really wasn't all that much the guy was even laughing about it.
@@jx14aby The sand is watered not so that there is no dust. It is wetted so that it is heavier and slides down the slope of the barge.
That guy on the left with the hat is lazy and also hasn’t a clue what he’s doing.
Looks like a mini Mt. St. Helens
Excellent video 👌
Trabajo muy mal ejecutado en ningún lugar del mundo minero está permitido sin las medidas de seguridad que corresponde falta de supervisión de parte de un Prevencionista de riesgos ,la ropa adecuada y arnés
I like how everyone has an opinion on how they're doing it wrong. Lol
I made a suggestion because I've worked in an industry where we had huge hoppers filled with sand and gravel that fed conveyors. Go to your local concrete plant.
i think you guys would do better without the water,, dry flows better than wet
Such videos are not useful and only posted for earning money
one slip and my guy is like one of them Pidgeon's in the grain
For safety he was told not to get sucked in. thats about it.
Keep the sand moving. It seems like a satisfying job, if not interesting in the long term.
The things you watch while you preheat the oven...
go wood man go
How to use water to make the situation worse.
Those hose guys aren't needed
How do you get the first board out?
Here before the title gets corrected from "unloding" to "unloading".
pingpongpung.... I am embarrassed that I didn't notice the spelling .... it is still "unloding" in Oct 2022
Maybe we could change the spelling so people don't have to buy a vowel?
Bargeons4/11/2022
OSHA approved
Safe work.....😱
Where does the sand go, what do you do with it?
Concrete??? Play sand??
The sand is harder to move when you wet it.
Actually other way round.
The water makes the sand heavier, but also acts as a lubricant helping it to flow.

More like TERRA!
Look's a "Little" dangerous!
Your other videos that claim to be "satisfying" is really quite creepy.
This seems horrible. Isn't there a better way?
опять не до конца показали, Дерьмо.
Not 3500 but 350 tons...
а зачем эти клоуны воду льют??
