Honestly I would pick a bar that’s closer to what I would be using in a competition. So probably a Texas Power Bar or a Kabuki depending on which federation I planned on competing in. But my wife and I currently have the original Rogue Power Bar which we use as a beater bar, the Crandall Fitness Women’s Weightlifting Bar, Rogue Castro Bar and the Bells of Steel Barenaked Power Bar. I plan on replacing the BoS with a Texas Power Bar and replacing the Castro Bar with the Texas Deadlift Bar. I usually give away my older bars because as you said I don’t need a ton of bars and I will continue to do so because as you said, there’s no reason to have a bunch of bars that you don’t use.
So REP says the scuffing on the Duracoat is actually junk from the collar on the plate not scuffing on the Duracoat that you should be able to wipe off. Did you find this to be true?
Hey Jonathan! I know you answered this in the video but I have a follow up question. I am between REP’s Colorado bar and the double black diamond bar. I plan on lifting the big three but I want to flexibility to do some Olympic lifts. If I choose the Colorado bar am I really missing out on any major benefits from the big three that the black diamond would give me?
For me use I don't notice much difference. I think if you plan to almost exclusively do the big three go do me black diamond. How often do you Olympic lift
@@NoFate247 Thanks For The Response! I like to do power cleans probably once week! I think the safe bet is the Colorado as I know the aggressive knurling from the black diamond is a benefit but can’t imagine it would hurt my big three to be without it! I appreciate the help!

In the video you mentioned that you pretty much only need one barbell these days and have gained an appreciation for speciality bars. I think it would make for an awesome video to rank your bars in terms of the usefulness and utility for you personally-perhaps you could track your top 5 to 10?
Yeah one bar is is all you need. You certainly don’t need as many as I have but I think every home gym should at least have two barbells so you can set up multiple stations or have your wife lifting etc.

REP has some cool bars. I just have a hard time spending the $$$ for a REP bar that cost almost the same as a time proven rogue bar. And nice pool property haha.
I have a Rep Excalibur bar, which I bought after having done zero research at all. It's pretty ok, but it does have the grooved sleeves and I do not love those. I don't know that I hate the grooves enough to buy a new bar, but this would probably be the one I'd get. I just need the one decent all around bar.
Yeah, I can see how people get the thrill of that ZIP of putting plates on, but yeah not for me. I don't have an ego in my home gym and I want a place that's quiet. If I wake the monsters sleeping upstairs it'll hinder my workout!
I have the Rogue stainless Ohio bar. The knurling is good, but it is more on the mild side to me. I use three bars. Ohio Bar for rows, military press, front squats and anything that isn’t the big 3 lifts. The stainless Ohio Power Bar is my squat and bench bar. The Texas Deadlift Cerakote bar is my deadlift bar. It is my most aggressive knurled barbell as Buddy Caps did a fabulous job with the coating.
200 strokes and didn't bust, that's impressive lol I'm not in the market for another 28.5 bar but this is definitely one of your best videos! My next bar is gonna be the Rogue Stump Bar, wish it were smooth sleeves but perfect size for my weak a$$ 😅
@@NoFate247 Just one Ohio Bar that I use for bench and deadlifts but am wanting a power bar for bench that way I can keep my Ohio Bar strictly for deadlifts so I'm not constantly taking it in and out of the rack. I have my Rep SSB for squats.
Thanks for the great review. I have been rocking the Colorado bar in white Cerakote for the past 2 weeks and I love it. I am preferential to a medium knurling because i like to use straps for all my pulling exercises. The med knurl makes for a great experience when using straps. Overall I am super pleased with the bar. I have the double black diamond bar on pre-order. Looking forward to its arrival. Thanks again for the great review. V/R Shane
I got a look at the white on IG and it looks GREAT! I also have a double black diamond on order but need to think of how I'm going to hide this one from the wife. They are adding up quite quickly
Final to my door cost for the two bars in FL: Rep Colorado Bar $329, Rogue Ohio Bar $390. Considering most folks have said the Colorado is as good or better than the Ohio $60 was too much to overcome.
I hope they make the black diamond in full SS. I don't want the aggressive knurl of the double black diamond. My hands hurt on the rep open trap bar when I go heavy. And that knurl isn't that aggressive
Good one! Thx for comparing it to the rogue ohio. I use a rogue ohio in cerakote red at my work gym sometimes. it actually inspired me to get the Red cerakote Colorado and personally I like the REP better too. If you could only have 1 home gym barbell, which would you pick?
Rep Fitness Colorado Barbell: www.repfitness.com/#5f3b28f9517b0

Automatic like for the Top Gun NES theme.
also I noticed you changed your cera-cot to cera-coat. 😅
Don't say that too loud or UA-cam will try to demonetize me.
Enough people complained that I figured it was time to say it right after 3 years 🤷♂️
Excited to see our new lineup of bars get in more hands!

So REP says the scuffing on the Duracoat is actually junk from the collar on the plate not scuffing on the Duracoat that you should be able to wipe off. Did you find this to be true?
No. I found the duracoat is very durable but it does show wear over time
Enjoyed this one. The bar looks like a great option. That bar don’t lie goes nicely with the cerakote I’d say 😉 great review bro!
Thanks for being here and I'm sure Brandon is furious his shirt was included in a cerakote coated barbell :)
Ribbed for your pleasure. I got a great FB marketplace rogue bar. Bars are overall to fancy these days.
Market place is a great option if you can snag it before the good deals are gone.

Yeah the groves just irritated me so much. Agree with you on one decent bar often times trumps a bunch of rando budget barbells.
Can you tell a difference in benching with a 28.5mm bar vs a 29mm power bar?
For new not at all. I have medium size hands and my weight range is 225 ish. If you have bigger hands you may be able to tell
I also HATE ribbed sleeves. When you're dead tired trying to take plates off the sleeve. Pain in the ass
