Thanks for the video, i got it last week and was kinda scared when i first turned it on. Fortunatly the fan noise at the startup is normal. Have a great day !
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! And the loud noise on startup is actually the disc drive. If you don't have a disc in the disc drive, it shouldn't make that loud noise.
@@kikokris5527 do you tried Fortnite already? I just got my brand new ps5 slim and I think when u play Fortnite, the fan noise its a little bit louder just wanna make sure isn't happening only with my ps5
@jakeusaf9401 Make sure that you aren't blocking the vents at the back or the bottom of the ps5. Try putting it on a hard open surface in its horizontal position. If those don't work, try exchanging it for a new one. If it's really hot in your room and there is no air flow, that can cause it to overheat too.
I just bought a PS5 slim a week ago and I felt the same thing when I played using a disc (GTA V), the sound of the rotation felt very loud. but on the other hand, without a disc, the sound is very quiet. and I think that is a natural and normal thing. but I did feel that the temperature was hotter than the FAT version. Thanks for being a subscriber, man! And yeah, that's what I've heard from many other owners of the OG ps5 and other ps5 slim owners. Nothing to worry about for sure
Yeah, someone had also mentioned that earlier in the comments, and I believe you guys! I'll change the title to the disc tray and fan noise since it still displays how loud it gets.
Yeah, the ps5 slim noise isn't bad and doesn't stop me from enjoying it, too. Also, yeah, I've heard the series x is a very quiet console! Both are really solid consoles!

@hirammendoza698 The noise in this video is basically what my ps5 sounds like playing all my games, including fortnite. If your fan noise gets louder, it's probably spinning faster to keep it cool, which is normal.

Man i gotta say this video is really helpful for me bro i was searching on this topic for weeks. Thanks a lot you cleared every doubt on my mind . Thanks a lot 😊
Sony themselves have stated the fan is supposed to get louder when working harder to keep the system cool. So many people just freak out and instantly think they have a defective system. It’s not supposed to be mouse fart quiet people
This is a good answer! People just need to not worry about fan and disc drive noise and have fun with their consoles. It's just the console doing it's thing and the sound doesn't last forever
I'm a PC guy primarily, but I got my wife a series S to play some lighter games on. I just got a PS5 slim, and I have to say I was very surprised at how loud it is in gameplay compared to my PC and the series S
Yeah, it can be loud. I think for me, it's just the initial disc drive startup that's loud. While gaming, I don't hear it. My steam deck sounds louder than it. Also, yeah, I heard the xbox series consoles were quiet.
@@kikokris5527Im so happy i stayed with my PS4 Pro. But in all honesty, in beginning it sounded similarly, bit like a blow drier once it was New. Now finally after many years updates, it is quiet as a mouse, even running games like Witcher 3, fan almost cannot be heard much. So juwt wait until more updates come. But if updates cannot fix it. I'd say it unacceptable.
I sold my launch OG PS5 to a friend to get a new slim. The Slim made noise like a hand dryer when running heavy games like GoW Ragnarog. I couldn’t stand it and sold it at a cheap and asked my friend to buy back the OG ps5 which is quiet as dead. Now I swear I will never buy a PlayStation console if I cannot test the fan first.
That sucks that you had a bad experience. I haven't experienced that on mine while playing heavy titles, though. The only time it sounds like a hair dryer for me is when I start it up or the beginning of a download, and ONLY when there is a disc in the disc drive. My slim actually sounds like my bro-in-laws og ps5, and he has a disc one too, so I'm assuming you have the og digital ps5. I have another video where it's completely quiet if you don't put a disc in the disc drive.
I have the PS5 fat digital in my hands and I love how it behaves when the fan is silent, but I intend to get the digital version because it is lighter and smaller for transport, and takes up less space on the table, but after some comments I'm super I'm worried about the fan noise, because I don't like noisy things.
You could always purchase the ps5 slim from Best Buy and test it out for a few weeks. If you don't like the sound, return it and stay with the og ps5. You do still have to go through the whole fan lottery with the ps5 slim, though, since not all slims have the same fan. But the digital version should be quieter than the one I have, especially since it doesn't have the disc drive noise. But yeah, do what you want to do. Experience it for yourself because although helpful, the comments can also be sometimes biased. It's always nice to test it out yourself. Hope this helps!
Thanks, man! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Perfect time to get one too now that they're easier to find. It's a really great console like the xbox. I don't think you'll regret the purchase.
I think it depends on the game you play as well. I play the Last of Us 2 Remastered on my new Slim and the fans get pretty much loud even if I have the console in a good ventilated area. I guess this is normal since TLOU2 is a very demanding game
@@kikokris5527While you were playing, it sounded really quiet indeed. 👍🏻 I'm about to buy a PS5 Slim myself soon, upgrading from a PS4 Slim... so I'm collecting user experiences at the moment. 😉
@svenharlacher8995 ayo! I upgraded mine from the ps4 slim as well. If you do end up getting it, man, it's a blast, honestly! Hope you enjoy your ps5 slim!
You should have waited for the pro because there lil differents between the 2020 model in fact the 2020 model is a lil better on differents is memory & missing parts to make slim design. But the pro will have new everything comes out later this year Dec or January
Every source I went to stated that even with the changes they made they both still loaded games at the same speed and performed the same and that if there were any differences between the two that they would be negligible. Also, I got this for free as a gift so I can't complain. But I do agree that if I hadn't gotten this as a gift, I would have waited for the pro even though the release date hasn't been confirmed. But hey, man, for people without a ps5 that want one now, I'd still recommend the ps5 slim over the og ps5 unless you can get a really good deal on the og ps5 or just prefer it over the slim because of aesthetics.
It’s the way the series X is made it has giant vents and holes on top and bottom it sucks the air under and pulls to the top thats why it’s so quiet the main issue with the design is it’s b*tch to clean I had to put screens on the back sides little vents because all the dust and keep in mind I clean this thing out once a month but I live in San Diego where we get a lot of dust ps5 I noisier but hella easier to clean
Imo the Series X is easier to clean, I'm not too worried about the warranty since I usually clean my entertainment area clean but I was curious to see how it would be to clean the system compared to the PS5 and you just have to take the screws off the back located on the black labels on the back case, unscrew them, use a pry tool kit or something else to pry it open and boom you have access to clean everything. PS5 you have to take apart so much to get to the heat sink, but you can clean the fans. Although the dust filters are helpful for both consoles.
Yeah, a couple of people mentioned this earlier, so I put a little message in the video's description box of it. Helped ease a lot of viewers and my own mind on it. Thanks!
@@mrdavis6816 No it's false we can see when games it blows loudly something that the Original PS5 does not do and there are other videos which show it since this console was released after 1 or 2 years if you cleans and removes dust from the inside it will make an airplane engine noise like the ps4
Xbox series x must have a quality build! I don't own one, though, since I play all my xbox games through pc. Would love to get one, and maybe I'll get one in the future.
@@kikokris5527 I also use Xbox on PC as well. I think that’s what makes it great, you don’t need the system to play the games. I’m playing flight sim mouse & keyboard, yoke and throttle set up. Having so many options only add to the ecosystem. Gamertag: Smacks PhD
Yeah, that's normal, and the loud noise at the beginning is actually the disc drive. If you empty it before start-up, it won't make that loud noise anymore.
If I have a disk in it boots up loud then quiets down and when I boot the disk game it’s loud but then quiets down. Im assuming it’s just reading the disk to validate the game and then stops and sounds quite like any other digital game.
Mine makes this humming/UFO sound. I’m glad I got a year warranty. Gonna get a replacement. Not sure if it’s normal or if it’s fault. Also debating when to replace it because like I said idk if its all of them.
Is the humming similar to any of the sounds my ps5 makes, and is it happening constantly through the duration of you playing? You can try replacing it and seeing if the second one still has the sound. If it does, it's probably normal
@@kikokris5527 your doesn’t seem to have it. Yours has the normal fan sound to me. Some people say they get a replacement and then it’s silent some say they get a replacement and the noise is just a little quieter but still there.
@Hooppy582 oh damn. Well, it's probably nothing to worry about. If it's really bothering you, exchange it. Sorry I'm not much help also HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Yeah, it can be like that for mine too. It happens when I turn the console on, when I start a game, or when I start downloading something, and it's usually lasts for a minute, then goes away.
Same, the only thing that's loud for me is the initial disc drive startup sound, but that only lasts for a minute and can be completely removed if I don't put a disc in the ps5 and just play digital.
That’s odd. For me the fan ramps up as soon as I open a game. It’s whisper quite in the menu but when I open Spider-man the fan gets loud, I was surprised how quite yours was when you opened spiderman. I think I might have a defective one
Your noise could just be the disc drive if you have a disc inside of your ps5. Also, i don't think you should worry about it too much as long as it works and it doesn't bother you.
omg i just got my ps5 slim today and i was absolutely terrified because my ps5 makes the EXACT same sound upon startup, initial disc reads, initial installation, opening games, etc. if you're knowledgeable on the topic, is this actually normal? is your PS5 okay? (edit: checked, mine is a CFI 2015 like yours)
It's normal nothing to worry about. It's just the disc drive doing its thing. If it bothers you, leave the disc drive empty, and it shouldn't make that loud noise on startup anymore. I have another video showing how quiet it gets if there's no disc in the disc drive. If you're curious. A lot of people have told me their disc version ps5's, both OG and Slim, sound similar, so I don't think we have to worry. As long as it isn't randomly shutting down on you during long gaming sessions, then you have nothing to worry about.
Hey, that's good as long as you enjoy it and it doesnt bother you. And yeah, I've heard xbox series consoles were really quiet compared to ps5 consoles from other xbox owners as well
When you turned it on, the loud noise sounds like the disc drive spinning (not the fan)? My fat PS5 does that when it’s reading/copying disc, but when booting up it’s silent. Probably it’s just a different mechanism since on the slim it’s detachable. Edit: oh I didn’t read the caption, my bad.
It doesn't bother me. I honestly can't hear the fan noise over the speaker volume even at night. The only thing i find loud is the start-up disc drive noise. My suggestion is to try it out at a friend's house or something.
Is this video a troll? Or not? I have an Og Ps5 and when I turn it on, it doesn't make a single sound but I found this video about the Slim starting up and it made some noises. So, is this video just a troll about the slim or is it just like that?
I’m not gonna lie my PS five sounds better when starting up then the slim that’s surprising and my PS five is the digital and it makes like literally no noise at all when starting up
Yeah, the digital ps5's don't have a disc drive, that's why. If I were to start up the ps5 slim without a disc in the disc drive, the moving parts in the disc wouldn't make that loud noise in the beginning. I have another video up testing startup without the disc.
@dares56950 it's normal, nothing to worry about. The Ps5 will automatically shut itself down if it gets too hot. This keeps it from getting damaged. If you aren't experiencing frequent shutdowns, then you're good.
Mate I don’t know my PS5 is on if it wasn’t for the light, literally not a sound, only sound ever is when I have a Blu-ray in the drive and then you will here the drive engage but even then minimal
Are you blocking the air vents at the bottom and back of the ps5? I'd return it if that overheat message happens a lot for you. I've never experienced overheating on mine before. The loud noise at the beginning is the disc drive.
Mine is noticeably louder than the og ps5 I had . It has that vibrate noise from the plates , when I squish the plates the noise is gone , don’t know what to do about it .
The plates are on loose, so they're vibrating? Try checking that the plates are snapped on correctly. One of the clamps inside might not be fully pressed in. Identify the clamps location and apply enough pressure to snap it back in. You could try taping the plates down or you can try exchanging it for a new one. If the bottom ps5 is vibrating on the surface it's placed on, there are these netted rubber mesh, usually used for cooking supplies, that you can buy that keep your ps5 from moving and get rid of the bottom vibrating noise.
Thanks mate I will give it a try . I am waiting for the dbrand dark plates for the slim , they look awesome , hopefully they also will eliminate the air humming vibration . Cheers
I'm glad you enjoyed it, man! And you're right. That's what it is, actually. It's the ps5 slim's horizontal stand pegs. I guess you can call it. It comes with the ps5. I'll make a video later tonight showing close ups of it and how to put it in.
If you're certain it's the fan noise and not the hard drive, then you could try keeping cooler by placing it horizontally in an open area with lots of air flow and or turning on the A.C. It'll work harder and louder the hotter the system gets. I'm not too sure about the fan thing, but you can try. Sorry I don't have many solutions
I have the slim version after my fat model. Quit working and I can tell you that. Yes, the slim model fan does kick up when playing a game. My co-worker and I got ours around the same time, and I asked him if his system was doing the same thing, He said yes, so it seems like the slim version of the PS5, it is normal for that to happen and a lot of it could be the type of fan that is used in the PS5 slim. I counted mine For the blades and DID some investigating. And it's the Delta fan with 19 blades. So the less blades, the fan has the louder. It is, i'm hoping that they make a twenty three blade variant slim so I can swap it out. It could also have to do with the way that the heat sinks are placed could be the. Reason why it's louder as well. Because if you look at teared on videos, there's a heat sink that is fairly small that is laid comic in the middle of the system. And then it's got heat transfer pipes that go to the larger heat sink laid along the back of the console where the air is expelled. So that could be the reason for the noise is because of the way the system is designed. The way I see it as long as it works. It's not over heating. There's nothing to worry about. I know what I did with my fat model. Is that I would take off the plates? And vacuum the inside out. Getting all the loose dust I could get to. And when I was not actively using the console, I would cover it up keeping dust out.
This never happened to me before. It could be overheating. Are you blocking any of the vents on the back or bottom of the ps5? Also, try keeping it in an open space on a hard surface.
@BicycleMeta if it happens often on a daily basis, I would exchange it for a new one. But try to cool it down, maybe keep it horizontal instead of vertical if you have it vertical. Make sure that all necessary ports are not loosely plugged in. Make sure your ps5 is up to date.
@@kikokris5527 i know that if it will keep working i'll be ok but if it will not and i didn't exchange the new one i will regret this so hope for me to do the right thing. by the way have a good year
NMB Fans are the quietest ones. Delta fans are in the middle, Nidec fans are the worst - not sure about Foxxcon fans. Only way to tell is to take off the plates and inspect the fan closely
@@x12flare73true for the regular ps5 however nmb fan design changed and now makes a high pitch noise though not a ufo noise, you can find a bunch of people complaining about it. It’s actually the worst one now imo.
@@x12flare73Foxconn fans have an awful UFO effect, but thankfully that can be easily fixed with couple of o-rings and it becomes as quiet as a Delta fan.
As loud as the startup disc drive noise and on every cutscene? Your ps5 could've been doing other processes in the background like updating or something, and that extra load could have made it work harder. I'm not 100% sure. I'm not really a tech channel. It's probably nothing to worry about.
@@kikokris5527 Nah, not as loud as that, but it's pretty loud for almost new. At soon as the cinematic ends, its quiet again, but ig it's not a big deal
@@vzx_lexyoOH, haha. For some reason when you said louder I thought you meant disc drive loud. Yeah, mines will occasionally get a bit louder on some cutscenes as well then quickly die down. Not all the time but it does happen to me as well. I don't think it's anything we have to worry about.
I sold my PS5 becuase of how loud it was. But I had the 12xx model with the Nidec fan, which is the worst fan model available. Maybe I'll be able to get Slim next year with a quiet fan.
Yeah, try it out man! If the ps5 slim sound is still too loud for you, you could always return it and get something else. I heard the xbox is quiet, and I think it's on sale for $399 with diablo 4.
Was that a question? If it was, then I don't think the digital would be as loud as my ps5. The loud noise at the beginning was the disc drive. I tested this by turning on the ps5 without a disc in the disc drive, and it was quiet from start up until I finished playing.
Like it completely turns off? The loud noise at the beginning is normal if you have a disc in the disc drive. If it's shutting off, make sure that you don't have anything blocking the vents at the bottom and the back of the ps5 and have it on a hard surface in an open area. Might be overheating. I can't be too sure, though.
@Cris-to3zc the loud noise at the beginning? It's the disk drive. It has moving parts so it'll make noise. If you want to avoid the noise, go digital and don't have a disc in the disc drive
@iloveliverpool100 my bad bro, this was like one of my first videos in a while. But i feel this is still a good example of how quiet the ps5 can be when around external noises.
Does yours or antbody else’s have like a little white dot on the edge of the black plastic in the front? Like an inch to the right of the split in the plastic faceplate
I don't see a white dot on mine. It's probably just a minor scuff. You shouldn't worry about it. If it really bothers you, slap a tiny sticker on it. That's what I did when I scratched my nintendo Switch, lol
@@kikokris5527 thanks for responding. Iv seen a lot of other ones that have it, it almost looks like a light on the actual console. Not the white faceplates. I literally just used a black sharpie to cover it up, it’s small but my ocd wouldn’t let me get over it lol
Mine was not loud but kinda quieter when I turn it on when it showed the PlayStation symbol and the users thingy and then for 1 or 3 seconds it became silent as a tomb is it Norma l for it to be like that
Yeah, usually, if you have a disc in the disc drive, it'll ramp up on startup for a couple of seconds, and then the loud noise will go quiet. The disc drive has moving parts, so it will make noise when it's working. If you have no disc in the disc drive or the digital ps5, it shouldn't make the loud startup disc drive noise for obvious reasons. Tested this on the og fat disc version ps5, and it seemed the same as the slim. So yeah, it's normal, my man. Depending on the scenario you have, it'll either be a quiet startup or a loud startup.
Ya when I turn the power on it made a noise from the fan but it was quieter from the fan and then 2 or couple seconds it went quiet as a tomb I guess cause of the game disk was inside right?
I bought a ps5 slim a month ago and i put my red dead redemption 2 disc in it and it makes so much noise its really annoying is there some way to make it more quiet or should i try cleaning it?
Are you talking about the fan noise the disk drive noise or the console interacting with the surface it's on? If it's the console interacting with the surface it's on, then try placing it horizontally on a rubber mesh mat to keep it from vibrating on top of the hard surface it's on. The level of the fan noise can depend on how hot your system is running, to the type of fan that is in the system, to how l fan was installed into your system. Sorry, it's pretty difficult for me to assess what is causing your loud noise without having it in front of me to open up and test where the sound is coming from. That and I'm not a full-out tech channel. You can try cleaning it. If anything, get a good pair of comfortable earphones
If you're talking about the loud noise in the beginning, that's the disc drive, it's normal and only lasts for a minute. The quieter noise you hear during the spider man gameplay is the fan noise. If you turn on the ps5 without a disc in the disc drive, you won't hear the loud noise when you turn on your ps5. It's just noise it's nothing to worry about. Honestly, in this video, I had the mic touching cheeks with my ps5. From where I was sitting, I couldn't hear the fan noise.
@@kikokris5527 NO. When I talk about coil whine, I mean the sound that comes from the power supply when the console is under load (while playing). The characteristic "bzzzz" sound, the more FPS in the game, the stronger it is.
@Gabriel-tm8hn Alright I turned it on and have a game running and I do hear the "buzzing" noise but it's faint and I have to have my head up to the ps5 to hear it. The fan sounds louder than it. So to answer your question yes there is coil whine on my ps5. I don't think it's something you should worry about though. I can't hesr any of the noise when I have the monitor volume on
Which part? the loud noise in the beginning? That was the disc drive. If you have the digital ps5 or you have the disc drive version but no disc in the disc drive, then it won't make that noise. I've never seen a ps5 disc drive version that doesn't make that noise if it has a disc in the disc drive. I won't say that I can't be proven wrong, though, because I haven't listened to every ps5 disc drive start up in the world, haha.
@ickilla oh haha, that's how mines is, too. With a disc in, it sounds like a hair dryer for a minute before quieting down, but when it's empty, it is quiet the whole way through.
Bro is it important to place ps5 slim on vertical stand that comes with ps5 fat, shoud I buy it or can keep ps5 slip vertical without a stand, was confused that there were some open vents below too
It's not important to have your ps5 slim set up vertically. Having it vertical or horizontal is basically just for personal preference, aesthetic reasons , or space limitations. You can go either or. It should be fine with the vertical stand since most of the heat is pushed out of the back vents.
I bought 2, the one is so quiet you can't tell its on, my 2nd one I returned it was loud and annoying just like yours, Its a hit or miss thing as of now
@@svenharlacher8995just a heads up I tested the start up without a disc in and it didn't make any loud noises like in this video. The loud noise was the disc drive like you and another said earlier. I was worried my ps5 was broken apparently its normal for it to do that. I loaded up a game and as it was loading it got loud then went completely slient so i didnt know if that was normal
Yeah, it's normal it's just the disc drive. If you don't want to hear that loud noise in the beginning, get digital games and leave the disc drive empty.
Are you talking about the loud noise on startup? That's the disc drive noise. All the ps5 slims sound like that UNLESS you have a digital or your disc drive has no disc in it. I've never seen a video where someone puts a disc in their ps5 slim, and it doesn't make that noise on startup, but if you find one, you can prove me wrong. If you're talking about the quieter fan noise, then nice bro, someone else mentioned there are different fan variants. You probably got the really quiet one!
It looks just as bad as the standard model. That fan noise is atrocious. Sony knows that you’ll eat a turd as long as they label it slim, and you are. The standard model doesn’t make a sound.
Thanks for the view 😂😂😂 Also, that's not the fan noise that's the disc drive noise on startup. All disc version ps5's even the OG ones make that noise at the beginning UNLESS the disc tray is empty. If you have a digital ps5 then it won't make the disc drive noise. BUT all disc version ps5's have the potential to be just as quiet as the digital ps5's. I have another video showing that if your curious.
Yeah, it's pretty loud, but it only lasts for a minute on start-up and doesn't occur while playing. If you can't stand 1 minute of the noise, go for the digital version because the loud noise is the disc tray. Also, keeping the disc tray empty will get rid of the loud noise on start-up.
It's making the noise because of the disc tray. I tested this by turning it on with the disc tray empty in another video, and it didn't make the loud noise in the beginning. If you have a digital ps5 it shouldn't make the noise

@@kikokris5527 no problem man you deserve it .
For me it gets noticeable the moment I boot up ANY game
Bro don't worry, it's just the disk that's spinning 😂
Yeah, a few people have mentioned that earlier, and that's why the title is fan noise and disc drive noise
Disc don't spin while playing tho

@sam9439 This is a good tip man thanks!
Original PS5 way less noise. Original the best
That Dark Souls 2 wallpaper. 🔥
@@anonisnoone6125 it is. Too bad they don't have themed backgrounds for the ps5 like the ps4 did.
My phat pa5 same. Disc drive super loud when loading but quiet after
Thanks, this is good to know! People should know that this is normal and not something to be concerned about.
Great video! I’m actually looking to buy a PS5 for the first time being that I am an xBox gamer. Thanks for the video & info! 🙏
Yeah, I noticed this with my pc as well. When I play hogwarts legacy, it gets like 10°C higher than when I play older games like left 4 dead 2.
Mine does the same, glad that it’s not faulty

Yeah, nothing to worry about. The disc drive is just loud haha
This really is the fan noise on startup? Somehow sounds like the disc drive spinning up, when the disc is still in while starting. 🤔
Actually, you could be right. I'm not too sure, haha. If it is, then at least the fans are still quiet?

This is good to know! Great points that people can consider when choosing to purchase either an xbox or playstation as their next console.
It’s only the disc drive btw
Yeah, a couple of people mentioned this earlier, so I put a little message in the video's description box of it. Helped ease a lot of viewers and my own mind on it. Thanks!
It's hard drive reading normal
That sounds exactly like my old ps4
But the ps4 always do that sound don't matter if ur playing or not but the pss5 just do it for like 1 min after it read the disc 💀 and gets quiet
@@mrdavis6816 No it's false we can see when games it blows loudly something that the Original PS5 does not do and there are other videos which show it since this console was released after 1 or 2 years if you cleans and removes dust from the inside it will make an airplane engine noise like the ps4

You're right That's basically what it is. I took the disc out and turned it on to test it, and it didn't make the loud noise

Is the humming similar to any of the sounds my ps5 makes, and is it happening constantly through the duration of you playing? You can try replacing it and seeing if the second one still has the sound. If it does, it's probably normal

if you're knowledgeable on the topic, is this actually normal? is your PS5 okay?
(edit: checked, mine is a CFI 2015 like yours)
It's normal nothing to worry about. It's just the disc drive doing its thing. If it bothers you, leave the disc drive empty, and it shouldn't make that loud noise on startup anymore. I have another video showing how quiet it gets if there's no disc in the disc drive. If you're curious. A lot of people have told me their disc version ps5's, both OG and Slim, sound similar, so I don't think we have to worry. As long as it isn't randomly shutting down on you during long gaming sessions, then you have nothing to worry about.
Had a series x traded it in for this one but I like the ps5 slim but noise wise Xbox has them x 10 with no noise at all

@@kikokris5527 definitely getting used to it .. I slick. Like Sony better gameplay wise but Xbox was not bad either thoe
Does the sound of the fan bother you when playing at night?
It doesn't bother me. I honestly can't hear the fan noise over the speaker volume even at night. The only thing i find loud is the start-up disc drive noise. My suggestion is to try it out at a friend's house or something.
Is this video a troll? Or not? I have an Og Ps5 and when I turn it on, it doesn't make a single sound but I found this video about the Slim starting up and it made some noises. So, is this video just a troll about the slim or is it just like that?
I have an OG PS5 too, mine is the same as this video but it is a lot quieter and it boots up faster, so it sounds like ours are the same/similar.
It’s really like that for a second
It's a real video, not a troll one. I may do a comparison between this one and the OG ps5. I just need to go to my sister's place to borrow
@@kikokris5527bro I have a question is normal on ps5 panel center when play games to be hot?
@dares56950 it's normal, nothing to worry about. The Ps5 will automatically shut itself down if it gets too hot. This keeps it from getting damaged. If you aren't experiencing frequent shutdowns, then you're good.

Cheers

Thank you bro this video calmed me down allot lol thought it was just super loud for no reason
hey kikomayn thanks for the reviw. What is that clear object beneath the ps5 looks like a stand of somesort? Can you explain I would love to buy that
I'm glad you enjoyed it, man! And you're right. That's what it is, actually. It's the ps5 slim's horizontal stand pegs. I guess you can call it. It comes with the ps5. I'll make a video later tonight showing close ups of it and how to put it in.
I had the slim one, it made a lot of fan noise, I changed it with a slim one which made the same noise. How to resolve this noise? Change a fan?
And when I was not actively using the console, I would cover it up keeping dust out.
i bought it yesterday and one time it shout down by herself now i start play and it shout down again two times in a row did this ever happen to you?
This never happened to me before. It could be overheating. Are you blocking any of the vents on the back or bottom of the ps5? Also, try keeping it in an open space on a hard surface.

@BicycleMeta if it happens often on a daily basis, I would exchange it for a new one. But try to cool it down, maybe keep it horizontal instead of vertical if you have it vertical. Make sure that all necessary ports are not loosely plugged in. Make sure your ps5 is up to date.

Why does it do that noise it’s very annoying I wanna know bc mine does that too
@Cris-to3zc the loud noise at the beginning? It's the disk drive. It has moving parts so it'll make noise. If you want to avoid the noise, go digital and don't have a disc in the disc drive

Yeah I got the spiderman 2 bundle ps5 slim and when I started the game its loud should I exchange it?
Did you end up exchanging it?

What do you have Coil Whine? It is present in my PS5 slim.
I can't hesr any of the noise when I have the monitor volume on
Mine foesnt sound like that 😂 I play like but I do have noise from the fan
Which part? the loud noise in the beginning? That was the disc drive. If you have the digital ps5 or you have the disc drive version but no disc in the disc drive, then it won't make that noise. I've never seen a ps5 disc drive version that doesn't make that noise if it has a disc in the disc drive. I won't say that I can't be proven wrong, though, because I haven't listened to every ps5 disc drive start up in the world, haha.
@@kikokris5527 I don't use disc unless it's movies loll
@PovElijah oh, haha. I'm going to have to test movies on mine and see if it still makes that loud noise on startup. Thanks, man!
💯💯
Glad you enjoyed the video!
My ps5 slim doesn't make that loud sound at all
Nice man, you the ps5 digital one? Also, i apologize for the late response
@@kikokris5527 I got the disc version and it's all good man
@@kikokris5527 with a game disc in its pretty loud but normal no game its pretty silent lol
My ps5 slim makes no sound at all
I'm guessing you got a digital ps5? Also, I apologize for the late response
Playstationbus a380
I bought 2, the one is so quiet you can't tell its on, my 2nd one I returned it was loud and annoying just like yours, Its a hit or miss thing as of now
Sony's fan lottery... 🙄
This is good to know! I'm ok with mines though, since it only gets loud when I start it up and at the beginning of a download.
@@svenharlacher8995just a heads up I tested the start up without a disc in and it didn't make any loud noises like in this video. The loud noise was the disc drive like you and another said earlier. So if that loud noise in the beginning bothers you you can just play digital games and you shouldn't hear it
I was worried my ps5 was broken apparently its normal for it to do that. I loaded up a game and as it was loading it got loud then went completely slient so i didnt know if that was normal
Yeah, it's normal it's just the disc drive. If you don't want to hear that loud noise in the beginning, get digital games and leave the disc drive empty.
just mute the fking tv dude lol
I did once the game started. The sound was coming from the controller, and at the time, I couldn't figure out how to turn it off, haha
Wanna play some games? lol
send me your psn, and we'll game some time, man
My don’t make no sound that bad
Are you talking about the loud noise on startup? That's the disc drive noise. All the ps5 slims sound like that UNLESS you have a digital or your disc drive has no disc in it. I've never seen a video where someone puts a disc in their ps5 slim, and it doesn't make that noise on startup, but if you find one, you can prove me wrong. If you're talking about the quieter fan noise, then nice bro, someone else mentioned there are different fan variants. You probably got the really quiet one!
@@kikokris5527on start up it make this weird Noise
@@kikokris5527 I think I broke my fan not as loud
When I Close a game It makes this weird rattle sound
@@kikokris5527 Does yours do it too
I don,t no if it is normal
So anoying shi is worse then my ps4
Yeah, it's pretty loud, but it only lasts for a minute on start-up and doesn't occur while playing. If you can't stand 1 minute of the noise, go for the digital version because the loud noise is the disc tray. Also, keeping the disc tray empty will get rid of the loud noise on start-up.
🤣🤣😂🤣🤣😂😂😂
I’m sure reason why it makes that noise is cause you have it laid down
It's making the noise because of the disc tray. I tested this by turning it on with the disc tray empty in another video, and it didn't make the loud noise in the beginning. If you have a digital ps5 it shouldn't make the noise
