Lucy has shown so much growth as a character.
I praise Melissa O'Neil for taking timid Lucy to the GIRL POWER she is. But I also want to credit the writers who have brought her along slowly, episode by episode. That is a great relationship. A hearty round of applause for both of them.
She went from being tentative and hesitant to One of the best female cops on their streets! She can give it as well as take it. Her independence is unyielding! This is such a beautiful edit depicting her beginnings to her success and with Tim all the way!
She had a wonderful teacher!

Tim dislike from Chen become UC , deep inside Branford don't want to lose Lucy same way he lost his ex-wife...
Herper lost her first marriage because she went deep in UC JOBS TOO but she didn't got high on the drug but she turn bad ass officer and got her life around in good way because she wants her daughter in her life again...
Hope Chenford are strong, hope their jobs don't break them up.

I agree, but for one minor but important edit: she is one of the best cops, regardless of gender. That bar doesn't need to be set artificially low, especially when the female cops in this particular precinct are at least as stellar as any of their colleagues on the force.
Lucy Chen is an amazing woman. No wonder Tim is head over heels for her. The real package, intelligent, brave, insightful, loyal, kind, funny, sweet, a fighter, unstoppable, generous, caring. All that and more wrap in a beautiful human being who has become the bravest cop ever. So proud of her. Being that Tim is another amazing human being there is no doubt in my mind that they belong together. I seen that love, admiration and respect for one another slowly grow in to what I hope will be the most epic love story ever. ❤️ I love this video!!!

YEA...I couldn't hve said it any better myself either!!! But I do give credit 2 Harper 4 a few reasons, in the fighting department & the part she plays in training Lucy & also her BELIEF in Lucy!!! Harper told her "Tim might be a great a TO, but u need 2 learn how 2 fight like a girl." At 1pt, says"U need 2 learn what these boys can't teach u as a 5' 6" woman & woman of color no less." By the end of the ep. Harper can c that she wz wrong abt Lucy & tells her "U've got what it takes, Not Nolan." Lucy chimes in "I know u know my name, I heard u say it at the house." BUT Lucy does c that there r things H can teach her, that Tim can't & wants 2 learn from her. Tim at 1st doubts that she'd be good as a UC cop. But he slowly realizes she's really good at!!! And slowly Lucy & Harper's rel'ship grew & she prepared Lucy in 1 day what would normally have taken mths when Lucy went uc again as the Chemist. Harper believes in Lucy. I loved when u watch "Day of Death." When they realize, Caleb is Rosalind's prodigy &:has taken Lucy, they also know how few hrs they have 2 save her. Armstrong says "Or she's already dead." Harper immediately spoke up & said "I know I haven't known Lucy as long as the rest of u, BUT I know she is a fighter. & she's going 2 do everything she can, til we get 2 her." Gosh, even Rosalind Dyer wz impressed w/ Lucy, that she deprived Caleb from seeing fear. When Caleb asks, any last words, Lucy is DEFIANT & tells him, "Yea, u're gonna be dead long b4 I am." At what wz supposed 2b Lopez & Wesley's wedding, Grey compliments Harper on training Nolan & now Lucy. Of course Harper & then H brings Lopez in2 helping Lucy after everything w/ Caleb. But even this season, the ep, when both Tim & now Grey is in the hospital, Grey sends Lucy bk 2 take over as "Watch Commander." Tim says w/ both of us here, Smitty based on Seniority wz & Grey wants her 2 take over. Of course, Smitty wz letting them all leave early 4 the day. Lucy dozn't think they will listen 2 her & asks Harper 2 speak 2 then. Harper tells her, isn't that why u were sent bk & says "Don't u think u've proven urself, again & again." Basically telling Lucy, that they will listen b/c she's earned their respect. I've started 2 think inadvertently, Lucy is ACTUALLY the protagonist of the show!!! The writer let it slip suddenly in a panel interview on zoom, that Lucy was his favorite character. I thot it wz interesting that the writer himself ended up confessing this.
How Lucy has advanced in her training to becoming a desired candidate for Under Cover work shows how really determined she has been from day one. Luckily, Tim was her TO and then Nyla really opened her eyes up to being a lady cop and the vast differences it comes with the lack of intimidation and strength at time's against a suspect. Great video showing all this!💕
Herper is other TO for Lucy in women way to fight hard.. Herper will be best maid honor for Lucy and Lopez for Tim future wedding if HOPE MORE SEASON IN FUTURE.. 🙏

This is beautiful! It shows her strength and growth and also what great of a TO Tim truly was. He knew what she needed since the beginning! And I love her with Nyla, aside from Captain Anderson, Nyla help Lucy see all she could become in her field.
She's just awesome was so unsure of herself in the beginning. Now she's a bad ass. Well done
Everytime I see the rescue of Lucy and Tim holding her, I think about watching their Instagram one day and her telling about the bruise on her right cheek from Tim's badge from holding her so tight. They both were laughing about it. Love these two together and their chemistry.

Brilliant edit - I love the way you showed what a strong, tough, intelligent fighter Lucy is. I’m so glad she knows she can be independent, successful & strong but still have room for love in her life. There is not bigger fan of Lucy than Tim, his unfailing support and belief in her from the start is beautiful.

I just saw this video today & I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!!!! I've been sick & re-watching older seasons. I've been kinda addicted 2 when Harper came on 2 "The Rookie". Don't get wrong I'm a Chenford fan thru & thru!!!! BUT...I loved the dynamic of Nolan & Harper & how it evolved in their rel'ship & how we saw him able to tell Harper off!!!! The ep. "Warriors and Guardians" is 1 of my favorite EPS, that I've been re-watching!!!! BUT I also have loved re-watching the ep. where Harper & Lucy are paired up 4 the day. How Harper KNEW that there were things that she could teach Lucy in terms of fighting that in her words, "These boys can't teach u." BUT...by the end of the ep. Harper comes around & tells her she was wrong 2 discourage her & says, "U say, u want 2b like me. Be better than me. U've got what it takes, Not Nolan." Of course, Lucy tells her, "I know u know my name b/c u said it back at the house." We've ALL known that Chen can fight. The 1st time I saw this Ep. I felt bad 4 Lucy, b/c we've seen her fight a lot!!! BUT... though Harper was harsh with her, she DID have stuff 2 teach her that Tim couldn't. But I also thot of her recent fight w/ that abusive man w/ a long history of being a wife beater to his ex. That was probably the toughest physical fight that we've seen from Lucy & alone!!!! I ACTUALLY was surprised, she didn't go 2 the hospital, afterwards only b/c he slammed her head to the wall at least once!!!!
I so love Lucy she is the combination of cute and Badass she is a really cute Baddie and I so love and enjoy seeing her growth every time again ❤❤❤

Fabiola, I think it's season 4. Lucy and Tamara find behind the mirror in the bathroom a hidden way through their house. On that way they realize an attack in the washroom and Lucy fights against the man. You can see it here on UA-cam "Lucys fight".
