What a groovy flip through! Such memories for me. Now my two grown daughters LOVE mid century. The colors are just uplifting. Thank you for sharing and jogging my memory. ❤️
Linda it’s great to look back through books and magazines, I agree mid century is so in again and the colours do lift us, it’s great to use them in our art. Sending love ❤️
Beautiful journal!! Flo has a cute journal from Cat. The people my daughter's age, Gen Z, wear bell bottoms. Such a wonderful book of lovely memories!! I think you have more empathy and understanding than anybody I know. I listened to this on my way home from work and watched now. I simply love your journals. Namesta 🐞🐞🐞✌️☮️
Lala always lovely to see you 🐞 oh you must have been glad to get home from work and get those weary feet up, I would imagine although back at work you are still exhausted from you’re virus. Oh yes bell bottoms anything like that is so in, love a retro vibe ☮️ Sending love to you, the family and little Buddy 🐾🩵
How wonderful to take a trip back to the 60's! Finished high school (9-12 grades) in 1965. Certainly was a gentler time to be young. Have a great weekend!
Gorgeous flip through of your 60s 70s memory journal Janet. Such a vibrant happy journal.too. really my vibe with all those colours. I have a sprocket printer, it's good for adding small photos to my journal. Lovely of Flo to share her journal too. Sending waves across the pond 🌊👋👋🧚♀️
Janet this was such a fun flip through. It brought back lots of memories for this child of the "60's. My dad's first vehicle in London was a Vesper Scooter but when us kids came along we had a Citron. We had already moved to the US when I ordered my first album off the TV. It was a top 40 type album I used my allowance to buy! I love all the bright colors and patterns of the '60's and '70's! Thank you for that trip down memory lane! 💗💗💗
Helen thank you so much, yes such a colourful time. Oh I used to buy those LP Greatest Hits, listened to them for ages on my little portable record player. Vespers and Citrons very cool vehicles. Some Citrons had the stripy cloth roof ? Thank you for joining me on this trip down memory lane. 🩵☮️🎶
Such a pretty journal Janet and retro visit so nice to look back on ❤ it's lovely and a ice surprise 😂. Great to see young Freddie in your Polaroid Camer pic. Let it be Beatles but I loved The Shadows and Cliff Richard in fact still do I play them and others most nights before going to sleep 😴 💤
Pam so glad you could join me in my trip down memory lane, oh yes I remember Cliff Richards and the Shadows on Top of the Pops. On Thursday Amy from Doki Doki Forest put out a video she showed an Edith Holden book I haven’t heard of before a children’s novel Hedgehog Feast I hadn’t heard of it before. 🦔 Have a lovely Sunday.
This was fun, so many great memories... I wasn't a big Charlie Brown/Peanuts fan, but LOVED Snoopy. I had blue teal-blue Snoopy gumboots when I was about four or five years old. I loved those boots. I also remember my Gram telling me to try on some of my aunt's old blue jeans (from the late 50s likely) when bell bottoms "flairs" were "in". I dutifully did so and told Gram in no uncertain terms "I hate these! They hug my legs" (skinny jeans/peg-leg jeans). So many of those patterns, groovy. The orange shag carpet and the "harvest gold" and "avocado" -colored appliances...Do you remember fondu sets? They too were all the rage. Ahhhhhhh yes!! The Archies: Sugar, Sugar, I had that 45 too and the Beatles Hey Jude (that was my Mom's or my aunt's I'm pretty sure but I hijacked it), practically wore the groves out of the vinyl. Your cassette tape print and stamp is brilliant! Hahhaha, I have the same "system" of collecting additional goodies and stuffing them in or near the project, or in Zip bags in an ever-increasing collection of Zip bags.
Ker oh thank you, I had fun too. I have my Mum and dads brown and wooden handled fondue set from the 70’s we still every year have a cheese fondue, invite our neighbour to join us our little tradition ! Oh snoopy wellies, can you remember not wanting to take them off ! Have a lovely weekend with loads of puppy love 🐾
Sylvia thank you so much. Had fun with the cassettes have been meaning to do that for ages ? You’re lake visit looked wonderful, love to you, Moon and Autumn 🍂🧚♀️🧚♀️
Good morning Janet! 🧚♀💕✨ Oh I was so excited to see what was inside of your retro journal. Herbie the Love Bug is a classic movie - SO good. My boys and I watch it every year, it’s one of our absolute favs. What lovely pictures of you tucked inside. Not sure what my first record was but I listened to the original Star Wars soundtrack all the time while I was playing with my toys. I seem to remember my parents playing Neil Diamond and The Beatles. Cassette prints on the gelli plate that is such a brilliant idea! Ohhhhh they are SO gorgeous, WOW. 😍 Definitely putting that on my “must try” list! Flo’s journal is looking lovely as well, she is always buzzing with creativity. So much fun as always to hang out and see what’s happening over there in your magical home! Lots of love and big hugs to all of you from all of us! ✨🧚♀🍄❤🌳🦊🥰
Amy lovely to see you 🌳 ❤️ thank you for popping over from the Doki Doki forest, I love sharing the old films with the boys, so you remember, ‘ Johnny 5 ‘ Indiana Jones ! The Star Wars theme music is truly epic. Oh the memories ! Wishing for you a weekend of creating memories with the family and some time for you to gently create 🍄🧚♂️
Thank you so much Heather, I have had that in mind for ages, fun fun 🎨 Seriously ! 🧁 we could do that job couldn’t we !! ( it would be a very practical yet whimsical job ) Happy creating. 🩵
Such a lovely nostalgic flip through, thank you Janet. The gorgeous paper Meljoy gave you on the front cover reminded me of a dress I had , same design but in blues tones, I loved that dress. My hubby Tom always had VW's, , we owned a yellow mustard one earlier in our marriage. Such a sweet photo of you on the beach. Loved the gel print of the cassette, will look forward to giving that a go. Wishing you well for your live , have fun🥰💖 🚎🚎🚎
Maria thank you so much, I did find popping these image’s together so relaxing. You’re dress must have been fab, did hubby have a paisley tie ? the VW must have been such fun to cruise around in, oh the memories. Have a restful and peaceful evening 🧵
@@janetnash I think he may have had a paisley tie, I do remember him wearing a lot of brown. His mum was a seamstress and made all the family's clothes, she probably thought brown was good for not showing up the dirt...she was a lovely soul, very creative. 🪡 🧵✨
@@mariakirchner6437 as you’re comment came in I was just rewatching you’re wonderful garden reel. Think about one another across the world. Love you’re saying, was it ‘ pockets of peace ‘ 🧵
@@janetnash Yes ...'pockets of peace...'' Caroline, thank you so much. Little Snoopy and Woodstock made it across the pond, I can still see that snoopy bag now !! Wishing you a happy time journaling this weekend, in between catching up with the yard / garden 🪴 🩵
The roadway inn still in business in America. The push mower you can still buy them today. Very sustainable. Very hard work. I had one. Yes the crochet bags my mum would make them Thank you for the trip back in time. Bought back many happy memories with my mum and dad. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Love your video.
Cheryl thank you so much, oh isn’t it fun to have a trip down memory lane. Yes those lawn mowers are so sustainable, but you do need a flat lawn !! I just love the sound they make. Thank you I do hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving 🩵
The first album I bought was at the end of fifth grade when I received $5 for a good report card. I bought a Sonny and Cher LP. My husband's first car was a red and white VW bus. You and I must be of the same generation!
Barbara wasn’t the magazine fun, oh yes loved the purple, in the 70’s my Dad painted the walls orange ( I remember them being quite shocked to start with how bright it was ) and the dark green too. Can I send you the magazine ? it a bit shabby but such fun to look through. Sending love to you both 🩵
Thank you Janet I would love the page on the flooring if you could spare it as I am making a memory book of my first few years of married life. I had dark blue walls with orange alcoves and brown furniture in my first home and a mustard kitchen. All thanks to my husband who had an eye for colour. The second rented flat had a purple walls in kitchen with that flooring. I soon changed the walls to white as it was all too much. But it would be lovely to have it, thank you for the offer. It is appreciated.
Hi Janet, i just spotted the girls on their new twig chair. They look right at home, straight from the forest. Such memories from the 60s & 70s. Yes, i did the bubble writing too, just like on the Beetles album, Rubber Soul.❤ oh little Janet at the beach, so sweet! Arent you happy you still have the photos? Im finding old childhood photos since ive been sorting thru pictures to distribute between my 3 sons. Oh... and i have a name for your Owl scrap bag...O for owl...Oliver for a boy's name and Olivia for a girls name. (Owlivia lol)😅😅 Great Flip-through Friday!!
🦉 thank you so much for the girls, 🧚♀️🧚♀️ little chair, they have been using it non stop since it arrived, it is so cosy for them, no balancing on a button tin anymore !! so comfortable. I think my inner child would like to revisit the bubble writing, will take a closer look at the Beatles album sleeve. Isn’t it an absolute joy looking through and sorting photos, time just slips away from us when we become engrossed in them. Have a lovely weekend 🩵

Janet, this was gloriously fun! Loved the retro flip through. Tomorrow where I live is a VW Bug & Bus show we go to every year. Your flip through got me more in the mood to go. :) I've heard you say before that you live in the city, but I realized when you showed that building (can't remember the name of it at the moment) that you said was visible from your home, I realized you weren't kidding! You really do live in the city! Really cool :) Thanks so much for sharing! ❤
Fawn thank you so much, oh what fun that sounds absolutely fab have a wonderful time. ☮️ Yes all those tall buildings so close, yet when I sit in the garden, you would never know ! It is wonderful to be in walking distance to so much green space, it is called green belt and there can be no building on it and the local council keep it mentioned.
@@janetnash thanks Janet! I had a great time at the show! I brought my sister with me and she had never been. People seem to come from all over to show their VWs... I saw tags as far as from Oklahoma, Texas, Minnesota.. I wasn't 100% sure I was going this year, but your flip got me right in the mood to go and I'm glad I went. :) That's so nice you have that beautiful green park so close to home! Thanks, again, Janet! 💟
Love this video even tho it makes me feel old LOL...I had a rotary phone...I was out of highschool and was working and lived at home for a couple years.
This is such a good idea
Thank you so much Sis it’s lovely to collect up little memories 🩵 have a gentle weekend.
The first album I bought was at the end of fifth grade when I received $5 for a good report card. I bought a Sonny and Cher LP. My husband's first car was a red and white VW bus. You and I must be of the same generation!
Oh isn’t it wonderful to remember 🎶🎵that red and white VW would be such fun to still have, touring around in it, so retro ☮️
Your magazine photo of the kitchen floor reminded me of my 1968 kitchen floor. I had purple!
Oh lovely I will get that off in the post to you 🩵 do hope you have a restful night. 🩵
I love listening to your videos …..the first record I ever bought was Love Me Do by the Beatles ! I wish I kept it ….
Oh thank you so much, that’s a great record, so catchy.
(Owlivia lol)😅😅
Great Flip-through Friday!!

I've heard you say before that you live in the city, but I realized when you showed that building (can't remember the name of it at the moment) that you said was visible from your home, I realized you weren't kidding! You really do live in the city! Really cool :)
Thanks so much for sharing! ❤
Fawn thank you so much, oh what fun that sounds absolutely fab have a wonderful time. ☮️
Yes all those tall buildings so close, yet when I sit in the garden, you would never know !
That's so nice you have that beautiful green park so close to home! Thanks, again, Janet! 💟
Oh so lovely you and you’re sister had some time together, I bet it was a colourful day 🩵
My mom hand crafted one of those clocks.😊
Oh wow Dana that bought back the memory for you. That’s impressive, it would be super retro to have one now wouldn’t it. 😊
Love this video even tho it makes me feel old LOL...I had a rotary phone...I was out of highschool and was working and lived at home for a couple years. My mom let me get my own phone line in my room. The polaroid camera...I had one. Have no clue make or model. But i was in the 6th grade when I got it. That was in 86. Dont know what happened to it.
Stephanie oh no we are vintage !!! 😊🎶 oh yes we had our rotary phone still in the 80’s think it was red ?
I have always loved a Polaroid, the film was expensive even back then wasn’t it.
Ahhh our trip down memory lane, thank you for joining us 🩵
I Love your videos! Can you tell us the names of some of the Magazines that you get your words and pictures from?
Kitty lovely to see you again. I get regularly Daphnes diary, and the rest are from the super markets, friends hand me downs, magazines that are found in Newspapers people save them for me. Do you have free cycle ? I have found magazines on there before too. Does this help ? Always happy to chat 🩵
@@janetnash I haven’t heard of free cycle. I will look into that. Thank you for responding! I have been playing your videos and crafting in my junk journal along with you. I even ordered some digestive biscuits and toast and jam tea… “what fun”!!!!
Oh Kitty thank you so much 🫖🍪 maybe freecycle nos called something different where you are ? Some people use Facebook market place and get all sorts of bargains, I haven’t tried that though. Oh and maybe charity/thrift stores too. Have a gentle time creating 🩵
Janet, thank you for sharing such inspiring moments with us. It’s so important to me. I love the story of your family all falling out of the mini.😂😂😂 and as you said, in the video, I also am finding beauty in simplicity and going gently. ❤🫶🐴🌲🐕🦺🫖
Karen thank you so much for joining me as I share little memories and tuck them safely inside my journals.
