Dam I'm Jealous. your going to love that radio. If you ever do the RPM sensor with the Saito 60r3, Post a video on the programming. I still haven't gotten mine to work yet Part # for Jeti RPM sensor i was told to buy is, MRPM-AC. It says its for the electric motors but the dealer said people are using it on the DLE Motors with the Tach output. There is also a certain way to wire it to the sensor it seems. I will have to research it on RC groups.
Brilliant piece of kit and very nicely flown, knockoffs! Built the same one and love it. Seems like the Saito 60R3 and the Razorback were made for each other. Wish you many happy landings!
One of the best take offs and landings. Not sure if the controls need to be smoothed out a little, seemed a little twitchy, besides that awesome airplane.
I purchased the Saito FG60r3 two weeks ago. I am have trouble getting over 5000 RPMs with my FG60r3. I followed the manual to the letter on the rich mixture for the first two tanks. Also, Running the proper fuel mix and so far ran through 1 gallon of fuel on the motor stand. Low needle is set without hesitation during transition. High needle peaked with one click to the rich side with a 22x10 XOAR prop. I cannot understand why it will not exceed 5000 rpms when other reviews I read are reaching 6000 easily. Where am I going wrong? Any thoughts?
Let it break in for another gallon or so, mine only got over 6000 rpm after 2 gallons. 22x10 sport prop was used. Sounds like your settings are correct. Good luck with yours. it will break in, Give it some time.
Rpm sensor for the saito radial, I will definitely look into that for sure. There is a video on UA-cam a guy with his dle 55 rpm sensor connected . Check it out.
Great flight very scale is it still flying? I’m ready to maiden mine with the OS GT55. Did you use and mixing in the primary flight surfaces? Thanks! She greased right in on the landing...
Here is a link to TruTurn Spinners and Prop Hubs. Mine is the (A) style prop hub. Just email them with the motor you are using and tell them the style you want. www.truturn.com/prophubs.htm Good luck with your bird. Post videos for all to enjoy.
I'm running the same engine in my Tarheel Hal p47 and love it. Do you have any rough/raspy missing sound when coming out of a dive, like out of a loop? What idle speed do you have? I'm running the Robart electrics and the Robart aluminum wheels and they stuck out a little farther because the wheels are fatter than stock. My gear doors tore off on the 2nd flight. Do yours stick out of the wing at all?
Never noticed a raspy sound, My idle is around 1400. My Robart wheels stick out a small amount as well, Nothing you can really do about it unless you rebuild the wheel well and lower the rails. Other then that, I love the plane. Enjoy yours. they are great fliers
True Turn, Call them up. Tell them that you have a Saito 60-R3 and you need the Hub. Pretty sure mine is a A style Hub. I have three of them. They work great. ROMCO Manufacturing, Inc. 100 West 1st Street Deer Park, Texas 77536 281-479-9600. ask for Wendy I was on the phone with her today lol.
Hi Knockoffs, like your Videos and your style of flying. I just got the same plane and the same engine. Do you happen to have a template to drill the holes in the firewall? My goal is to drill four holes the first time right ;-) Would be nice if you told me the measurements in millimeters. Thanks a lot and cheers from Switzerland
Hello there !!! All i did was take the mounting bracket off the engine, And line it up on the crosshairs of the firewall. Send me your email, and i will send you a few pics of my Corsair that i'm building with the same engine. Good Luck with yours. Follow Saitos breakin, and 15 to one oil will keep the engine happy. Remember, shake your gas can well prior to each fill. 15 to 1 is a lot of oil. approx 9.5 oz per gallon
Knockoffs,,,,,, I am doing the same setup as yours. Is the down pipe of the Keleo exhaust ring long enough to clear the bottom of the cowl/airplane? Ok, now after seeing the plane after you had landed, I see it does clear the bottom. You did not have to extend it, right sir? Thanks! Chris
Did you have any issues getting the right distance to the prop washer? I have this engine and the same plane but right now I have an EME60 in it but I need a plane for the radial now.....
Well first let me tell you, I've watched tons of your Videos. Great job by the way. And i love your woodworking stuff too. If you use the following standoffs, you will be dead on balls accurate just like mine. www.horizonhobby.com/airplanes/engine-accessories/standoff-gas-engine-mount--45mm-evo3308. And no worries about power verse's plane weight either, Watch both my vids on this plane and you will see. Keep up the great videos. I Love the one, cutting accurate miters !!!
thanks. I have a couple Xoar 23 8 military props that I used ont he EME60 I had in the P47 and I might try them. Saito lists 23X8 as a prop size for the engine. We'll see.
FG 60R3 will fly it !!! Maybe not with tons of authority but it will fly it. Ive seen it on the Top Flite Zero , which i have, and it comes in at 28.5 to 29 or 30 pounds. I have a G62 in it. a G62 can pull a 40 pound bird around. My Bird came in at 23.5 pounds, So your pulling an extra 4 pounds of weight around. But it will fly, I had a P47 that was 22 or 23 pounds and i flew it on a DLE 30cc. Once a plane gets up on its wings they will all fly. I think it will do just fine, You can fly it in a more scale manor and it will do alright. ua-cam.com/video/qrP-4pRB6Iw/v-deo.html
Hey Matt - beautiful plane and nice flying.
Thanks
Thanks for that. I will post videos very soon. Ps I got my jeti ds 24 2weeks ago absolutely love this radio brand. Once again thankyou👍🏿

lovely sound. I think I will go with a moki 50cc or a kolm 50cc in my tf zero because of the weight.
Nice motor choices as well. I just love the look and the sound of the Saito.
Nailed it!! Great job

Thank's Still flying and yes mixed elevator to flaps, 4 or 6 percent. Good luck with yours.
knockoffs Thanks for the quick reply. Can’t wait to see it in the air, hear nothing but good things from people about this kit.
Greetings, awesome jug, getting mine soon with an fg 60. Can you tell me what size and style of prop hub please?. Kind regards.

Still running great i'm Now using Amsoil Dominator Synthetic oil @ 9, 1/2

Brutal! That sound!
Thanks, I love it !!!
Have one of these as well, can you tell me what is the elevation at your field and what was the final oil mix with cool power oil?
Elevation is 150 ft and i used cool Power Oil @ 8 oz per gallon
16 to 1 ratio . Good luck with your motor.
Is this long island? i'm looking for a new field / club in suffolk, ty
Long Island Skyhawks in East Port Long Island. Giant Scale Only.
You can try Edgewood Flyers in Commack NY. Everything goes at that club
Hi, what adapter are you using on the hub to be able to mount the spinner? Thanks

Have the same setup. Did you have to add any down elevator for full flaps.
4% on half flaps 8% on full flaps. She flie's great. Enjoy yours.
I have the same plane and the flying weight is 27,5 lbs. I'd like to buy a saito FG 60 R3. Do you think it will be strong enough?

None, Move batts around and all was good, Actually had to add 6 oz under wing bolt plate.
