To whom will I tell my sorrow, o clouds?
Those who we regarded as friends have backstabbed us

Are these rains perhaps the tears of the one I love?

Clouds, say hello to my love
Tell her that the day of reunion is near
If fate tore us away from one another
What can I do abroad all alone?
Tell me, can one live far away from love?

Do you know anything about ..CYPRUS..?
as someone who is half turkish and half greek cyp it’s more of a bitter feeling especially when i did research on the background of the song. my dad moved to australia (where i currently live) in the 70s to escape the war, as my uncles stayed and fought. i am often made fun of and shamed when i have to tell other turks i am half greek and they frown upon it and personally for me it’s childish. it was not something we started. it was also a very long time ago. nonetheless it has not stopped me from embracing my greek culture, i have many friends who are greek and turkish myself.
and to my brothers on both sides. do not anger each other with bitter, sorrow memories. we are very alike in many ways.
I have a friend her name is Nil, her father is Armenian from Cyprus and mother is Turkish, she has citizenship from both sides because her father is Turkish Armenian, she has said Cypriot greeks are extreme fanatic racist ultranationalists and very mad
We are all the same genetically - dna studies attest to that, so you are a true Cypriot. When a Greek and a Turk sit down for a meal, like many of us did, we become family for life. We Greek Cypriots have much to answer for our neglect of the Turkish Cypriots from 1960- 1974. I’m sorry your father had to leave.
