The touchless solder gun was really useful and a great idea! Great ingenuity but ultimately many of the things being made were not useful.

Thought it was clickbait when I saw a motor glued to a soldering gun, then I got to 1:27 and was like OH...clever. Also I love the work you did with the Peltier junction.
It would of made more sense to put potentiometers on the laser project though so you could of changed the speed.

This was the first time I watched these hack videos without fast forvarding. And first time I found many useable ones. The only was that you should use more fresh tin (and smaller soldering iron in that last one). Otherwise your solderings were quite nice

Hey these are all totally awesome! I will love making some of these with my son. He is 11 and has expressed interest in science and technology (um, heck yea! Im ambidextrous, so im always DIY-ing or fixing/making something)! I was curious about that last one....the toy wheels.....can you share exactly what you used there? What board was that from, was it the insides of the toy? I didnt see a antenna or RF.... He would love that one, and I could for sure get him to really enjoy thst one! I would greatly appreciate it! Love Love Love your videos.

Structurally the Peltier module is soldered with a solder with a melting point of about 125 degrees Celsius. From the candle, it quickly degrades and becomes unusable.
The only way to avoid this restriction is to heat the water with a candle and the already heated water will heat the Peltier module no higher than the boiling point of 100 degrees Celsius.

I dunno bout how that soldering iron heats.. everyone ive ever owned was filled with heat cement and the heat came from a resistive short circuit held in place in the cement, when tge tip is screwed in it brings the heat to a tip and absorbs the heat because its a transmissive metal (tinned copper) and the metal housing the cement is stainless. No comprende that little heat gun.. i just use a cooking torch with a piece of stainless that stands in front of the flame deflecting it so the superheated air coming off if the deflection plate ambiently melts the solder...
