I wouldn't say primarily. It really depends who's the practitioner. Also you have to realize the Asian martial arts have strong roots in Zen Buddhism particularly kung fu and karate, so many people do find spiritual enlightenment from practicing those arts.
You're half right. Karate has essentially nothing to do with Buddhism, but Kung-fu definitely does, especially The Shaolin arts. Karate was a super shortened version of Chinese crane style which was first brought to Okinawa by Miyagi. That's why it has a number of moves from Crane style and it's blocking and kicking it's largely based on that style. It then spread to Japan where it was mixed with their own indigenous arts and Shintoism became mixed with the karate arts to some degree along with the samurai code in some styles. Karate is a shadow of true martial arts from China all of which came from Gung-fu.

WC is an art using internal system, internal energy, especialy circle movement. Its forms are direct meditation and internal working, WC is an art and a tool like every other MA.
