shoots like a dream, its the trigger that is absolutely awful on these. SMG put a top notch barrel in but the design of the gun prevents the trigger from being anything short of garbage! You can actually "pre-set" the trigger... if you gently pull it, you can get the sear to creep until its ready to break... then its like having a hair trigger!

People say the FG system is "open-bolt in full-auto and closed-bolt in semi-", and without further thinking about it assume its closed bolt works the same way as the normal, hammer-fired kind, which it doesn't. The way it works, it should exhibit mass-lurch like an open-bolt gun.
I really like the talks with the sponsors at the beginning of these videos. It’s about as unobtrusive as an effective ad can be and it does a good job of portraying a “face” and humanizing the companies out there who made DB2020 possible.
I like the format. You have the stages spread out through the video to give context to what you’re talking about. I realize the extra editing takes time and work; it is much appreciated. The quality is top notch

The public rifle range at the local wilderness preserve has a cement sewer tube we have to shoot through, and it rings like a bell every shot. So I totally get the reverb thing.

I've wondered this for a long time but this is the first time I'm doing it aloud... but why is 7.92mm the only caliber that is rounded in any direction? Like pretty much anything is said to the 100s of a millimeter

if i remember correctly, they said in a previous video that their reproduction FG42 is chambered in 308, since that is easier to get your hands on in the US.

I doubt anyone will see an actual VSS outside of Russia, for that matter, I doubt anyone will actually see one IN Russia, unless you are a terrorist or mob enforcer... but then you are seeing the wrong end of it... It will let you create one in areas where it is allowed though. On a serious note, one of the biggest things stopping the making of a VSS replica, is not governments, but rather a community that favours conformity. I’m Australian and I want to build a M16A2 based on ADF recommendations, but when I go to any AR-15 community and ask for recommendations, all I get is abuse and saying to get the bog standard gamer gun. I. Don’t. Want. That. I want something with meaning. Accept your mediocrity and uniqueness, and look for something that fits you as you are, not you as you want others to see you as.

Personally, I love the audio shift from shooting before the trench to after getting into the trench. Enough of the blast was deflected to give a richer noise signature. Fantastic.
At 20:57, Ian explains that he didn't put the muzzle brake into the tire because of the horrific muzzle blast. Just as well; never mind the noise, can you imagine if the tire had caught on fire!? AAaaaahhh, the stench of burning rubber.......
My Ksarda drill looked a little like yours (except I timed out with one throw and two shots left to go): 9 yards, 8 yards, 7 yards... to just about in danger of hitting my feet at the end.
After seeing the riot shield in the first video (Karl shooting) I made one for our IPSC match last Sunday. Hats off to Ian, that is NOT an easy way to shoot a pistol! And yes, I think we all ended up canting the pistol fairly severely! Great idea... everyone loved it. thanks for the inspiration. I do NOT think introducing a kettlebell would be QUITE as popular!

If you do it right there isn't really much strain on your back. You're supposed to throw it with your hips and shoulders. That's where a lot of guys screw up with it, they do all back and it doesn't go nearly as far.
It's certainly possible if you or someone else on the East Coast run it. Karl may provide know-how and perhaps some little support but don't expect him to run it for you.
the rules are all open source, the real trick is finding a range that will let you do stuff like running around with loaded weapons, and then getting insurance for the event.
This all-offhand version of the Kasarda drill makes me want to see a Left 4 Dead inspired version with a large garden gnome (named Gnome Chomsky of course) that has to be taken through the whole course.

No, and in fact they specifically state that it's not allowed as it risks injury to yourself and the staff.

What Ian could do with is a small musette/map bag to wear on his belt to act as a mag pouch. Belt pouches weren't uncommon back in WW2.
Every hit on the target after the kettle bell throws, you just see the round bouncing up the slope kicking up dirt.
