We're going to run into each other pretty soon. About to launch my channel🤣 love the work buddy. We NEEEEEED more people sharing this type of media for the rest to keep the B5 culture ripping🤣 I only have 5.. literally quit my 9-5 for this because there were so many locals who needed builds or tuning or whatever and 9-5 for someone else suuucks. Ran a classic VAG restoration and performance shop for years. Allll sorts of crazy builds. Efi swaps. Efi/turbo builds on old porsches. Everything in between. I LOVE that you took the time. SAVE ALL THE B5's!!! Have a bat 1.8 built to freaking oblivion and a stg3 s4. Then another s4. Then 2 more🤣🤣🤣🤣 keep it up ill do whatever I can to share and spread this
I’ve been searching left and right online for 34mm od spherical bearing to do my own solid linkage while transmission is out of car. Found your video, going to give it a go how’s it held up since this video? I see the one at mcmastercar is China made but I can’t imagine it puts the load the bearing is designed for being a shifter linkage. I don’t have cooler shifter but have jhm got lucky and got it from junkyard for few bucks!
So what's the point of removing the linkage near the axel? Was that only to do the solid linkage. Could you install the short shifter without the solid linkage so you dont have to remove the axel and all that?
At 10:00 min into the video you can see both linkage rods. Where does the second rod attach to. There doesn't seem to be a provision for it on the shifter and the video does not address it.
I spoke about that rod like 10 seconds before the part you tagged. It's a large 6mm hex bolt that is very hard to remove with the space available. It's just loose in there now and doesn't affect anything. But yes, it *should* be removed.
@@BrunerTuner thanks mate, I've test fitted outside my car to see and it looked okay but I wasnt quite sure because I didnt see in youtube videos if other people kept it or removed it :)

I absolutely LOVE the look and feel of this shifter.
Yerrrrrr
I like the new shifter. It's Cooler, and it definitely worx.
😐😐😐
Wish I had a teacher like you when I had my B5!
Good news! Now you're in detention!
@@BrunerTuner sorry dad..

Hell yeah man! Glad to hear you got some awesome projects for the channel!
U rlly revved it up wit da shifter nephew!!
Looks amazing! Makes me want something like that in one of my cars.
Tell us what you think of the CoolerWorx shifter! It feels like I'm driving a race car!
Did you have to shave the lip on the transmission tunnel in order to fit that plate flush or did yours not have a lip?
I had no issues fitting it up
When will the S4 be hitting the track?!
Has the reverse cable been an issue at all? Seems like there has to be a way to make sure that never comes out.
I haven't had any problems with mine
What size bolt for the make your own solid linkage and size for spacers with pivot bearing?

It's been great so far. No issues with the linkage at all. I'm actually tempted to repeat this modification on my casa white B5S4 as well!
@@BrunerTunerjust wanted to comment back here, got that in the car and it works great! Did whole manual swap and 0A3 shifting is great with this.
I’m having trouble figuring out where the spacer goes and how to reach it
Subbed
Thanks so much!! ✌️

You can do this mod without changing out to a solid linkage, but you will have to remove the linkage regardless to fit the spacer on the cross rod.
Hi, what type is your cluster display? What kind of upgrade it is? It's definitely not stock. Thank you
The cluster is from ColorMFA. Supplier is from Poland.
Brooooo what other parts did you buy other than the shifter ?????!!! I just ordered the shifter
The parts ordered are in the description. I got it all from McMaster Carr
I ended up just buying the legit JHM solid shifter part for the trans 😅
Good job on the video, I can’t wait to try mine out with my 650hp single turbo setup!!
@@justint5625 that sounds badass! I can imagine what another 150 hp would feel like lol

For real? Damn. Lol. I just rebuilt that rod and put a delrin bushing in it lol. Oh well good to know thanks
Hi I have had mine for a year now and for some reason I'm struggling to get into 1st and 5th would you know why it's doing that please?
I would assume the adjustment for side to side movement need to be reset
The old "stabilizer" gear lever (the right one) you just removed this or?
I haven't removed it yet. It's just out of the way. The bolt that holds it is extremely tight and hard to access to get enough leverage
@@BrunerTuner but what I mean is.. it's not needed right? after you have installed the new coolerworx
@@laksflaks correct the cooler worx does not need the additional stabilizer bar
@@BrunerTuner thanks mate, I've test fitted outside my car to see and it looked okay but I wasnt quite sure because I didnt see in youtube videos if other people kept it or removed it :)
Cheers bro. Good luck with the install
Can the cable be removed if You're gonna use this for a 5-speed?
Coolerworx makes a shifter specifically for 5 speed setups
@@BrunerTuner awsome thank You, I've never seen one on UA-cam and coolerworx never posted it on their website only the one in 6-speed
@@GCS88 There are one a couple differences on the 5 speed vs 6 speed. I ordered the wrong one and had to convert it.
I know this was posted over a year ago but i wanna know how long it took to arrive as i know they come from europe
It only took a few weeks to get here
@@BrunerTuner appreciate the response thank you very much
What is the part number for the spacer ?
I am not sure on a part number. It looks like it is a m6x1.0 threaded spacer, maybe 1 inch in length
