Harris Policy Innovation Challenge 2023-2024: The Chicago Pension Crisis

At the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy, we pride ourselves on training a new generation of confident, dedicated, and rigorously analytical policymakers committed to confronting the world’s most pressing issues. The Harris Policy Innovation Challenge, a new policy competition, was created to empower students to design practical, feasible, and effective proposals to solve real-world policy problems. The inaugural challenge in 2024 confronted Chicago's pension crisis, which has been called a major threat to the city's long-term viability.
