Dude I started watching these videos to learn how to use my home brew switch and now am here learning to make an arcade. My guy thank you for all your hard work man !

Just curious, have you ever tried Brook Zero- Pi Fighting Board Easy Version? I know somebody who loves it for pc emulation, but I don't know how well it works with other consoles.
Nah I personally haven't. If I was on pc I would have used the iPac board. They did a update that makes it read as an x input device
But I always heard good things about the brooks boards
I just can’t get the encoder to work at all. I plug it in and sometimes get a blue then a red other times nothing
Hey there, just bought the encoder (your vid helped a lot with me making my decision), updated it to the latest firmware and everything works EXCEPT for waking it up.
I’m holding the home/menu button but nothing is happening. Did I do something wrong? Or did one of nintendos firmware updates change this? Thanks for any help you can give me and great vid!
Looks like a update a while ago disabled the wake up... my switch no longer wakes up with the button... I have to manually power on the switch
Ahh, well that sucks.. I found a way around it though using the cartridge switcher accessory that comes with a remote. Anytime you "switch" the cart it wakes the system up and I can do it via a remote control so that's cool.
Now the issue is the encoder powers on but doesn't work until I remove the USB and then put it back in every time I wake it back up...
I tried it with 3 different docks (the original dock and 2 third party ones) and I still have to do it every time. Do you have the same problem? And if so, have you figured out any way around it?
@Rockmankb I have to reconnect the usbs rarely... but I have had it happen/ it does happen. No fix really for it, just gotta unplug and replug. My main issue now is that the switch thinks p1 is p2 so u have to go to the controller setup on the switch and reassign controllers.
The usb reconnecting could b annoying, but I think it's just how the switch handles power.
can you link the buttons you used for this? i’m working on a similar project with my dad and we are relatively new. we bought a similar sj@jx kit with only 1 encoder and buttons included. we plan to buy the 2 encoder kit you linked and are wondering where to find the correct buttons (ours have different numbers of connector pins)
Eclipse buttons came from groovygamegear.com
Microswitches gave either 2 or 3 connectors... it's all the same but the 3 connector ones have a NC (normally closed) output where as a regular arcade button only requires a NO normally open output
If that software update works you're going to make me very happy.

Is this still your recommended board for the price? I see the vid was about a year ago and I'm just wondering if this is still your top recommendation.
Yes I only use this board but the home button no longer works to turn on the systemv
i bought what looks very similar except it was the cy-1006 for my jailbroke ps3 build.... my x and y buttons dont work on pc and controller seems like its crazy on ps3 .... like a controller has crazy drift in random directions. you wouldnt know if this was the same issue would you?
I'm not sure, I only have the ones I have in the video and I never tested on ps3. If your having issues on oc then You'll most likely have issues on other devices
Would this work for a four player setup? I don't think there are enough USB ports on the switch if each controller really needs to be plugged in on its own.
I have not tried 4 players so I can't answer
Looks awesome, I already knew about the Switch starting up if you hold down the home button. But when I tried it with the encoder connected I could not get it to work. Is your encoder still lighted up when the Switch is in sleepmode? Or does the light on the encoder turn off?

After a recent switch update, the hom button hold no longer powers on switch, i have to manually turn on the switch now :/

@Magoo277 I haven't checked but I'll take a look 1 day. I don't think there has been an update for the encoders

U can't run an exe on the switch. The exe us for pc and connect the boards to ur pc
Can you use this encoder or something like it with the At@games legend pinball? I want to use my switch but be able to use my arcade control panel and my flipper buttons. Is that possible?
Not sure bud I can't tell you. You can prob tie them into your existing buttons

Im sitting with this card right now and i tried the updater you linked. I manage to the the joystick to work and somehow the home-button. But i cant seem to change mode on the card. Im holding the Mode/home-button in when i plug in the card in to the Switch but nothing happens. I started a chat with Sj@jx at Amazon for a newer firmware.
Can you explain how to change mode on the encoder?

If I have a 4 player pedestal and want to play switch 4 player games do I need to buy 4 of the encoders SJ JX?
I haven't tried 4 players but yes u would need 4 encoders
Hi. I bought the encoder and flashed it. The blue light on the encoder turns on and turns off when plugged into the Switch. Nothing works. On a PC, i can tell the "clear" button changing from xinput and Dinput. Little help on the Switch? Does your encoder still work?
Yea mine still work. Blue light must be on and steady. Maybe your dock is bad
got joystick to work but cant get buttons to work?

Hi, it the joycon no the switch is player one you may have to remove it
Never thought of that I'll give it a try
But going to the joycon controller adjust tab isn't a big deal
And it keeps my joycon charged

Buttons is separate joystick is separate
My buttons came from groovygamegear and joysticks came from paradisearcade
Can you give me their "email"? I can't find these guys for anything. I bought it from their store on AMAZON and they send nothing.
There's no email, it's all within Amazon messenger

It made my analogs work but my buttons still don't. What a shame.

@@Vic_VP yea, I got a led one so it's 3 prong to 3 prong... Guess those don't work. Led lights up and everything. The buttons and cords work cause I have another encoder.
