I think this is the best interpretation I ever heard. Not only that she played technically almost perfect, but she also presents a very delicate lovely side of Islamey. Many pianists rush through this piece and do not pay enough attension to little rubati, emotional piano passages and build ups from slow and soft to fast and triumphant which make this piece not only technical but also concerning the emotional musical part one of the most hardest, maybe even the hardest piece ever written for the piano. Bravo!

I used to perceive Islamey as unplayable. Fast forward-after playing way over 1000 x's directly after Petroushka---its funny how perception realigns with current reality. Gaspard de la nuit is another piece I hold very close in my heart---these 3 are my " holy trinity " The perfectionist pianist in me usually finds flaws ----however with you ,I cant stop thinking----I LOVE ❤THIS PERSON TOO MUCH❤❤❤❤❤ So gorgeous & beautiful-with a touch literally from Heaven. I can't get enough of you!!!!

I have seen some of the most well-known pianists perform this piece such as Lang Lang, Yuja Wang and Lisitsa and others and literally none of them played this piece as good as Kristina Miller herself. Her interpretation is by far the cleanest and the clearest of them all. I was very surprised she was able to perform this piece perfectly with that godly speed. I have seen one korean pianist that came close to her speed (still slower than kristina) but it sounds very rushed and the interpretation did not even come close to Kristina Miller's interpretation. You are my new favourite pianist!

Wow! What a tempo . Fleet, clean , smart full of lavish touches more noticeable in the slower sections . Hear her Liszt Spanish Rhapsody ! This piano iswarm not one of those overly bright Steinways which make no sense in 19th century music . Good choice !

Sono ammirato dalla tecnica e dall'interpretazione pulita, leggera...Sembra che le difficoltà enormi di questo brano vengano sublimate in tal maniera da rendere Islamey un brano apparentemente accessibile, quando in realtà non lo è.....Spero di riuscire a vederti/la in qualche concerto in Italia.Sarei veramente felice e lusingato! So che i confronti sono fastidiosi...ma assolutamente un'interpretazione...alla Miller..... :-)) Complimenti, complimenti...complimenti!!!!!!

There are several pieces in the standard repertoire that I often use as a quick guide to evaluate whether I am likely to appreciate a pianist's playing and overall approach. One is the Schumann Toccata, which can so easily become dull and repetitive, even in the hands of a virtuoso like Cziffra, yet some pianists manage to make it truly musical (see e.g. Horowitz). Islamey is another example; there are so many "note perfect" performances out there that are utterly tedious. Your version, while also being note perfect, is always first and foremost about the music. Outstanding. I was instantly a fan. When are you coming to Montreal?
Fairly Namora she is better than the two of them. Her interpretation is all about balance. She has one of the lightest touch on the piano. Lang lang often goes crazy on the piano causing whatever piece he's playing to sound unbalanced and unclean.
