Can't beat the sound of a quintet of MP15s with Roots-blown 645s under the hoods!

THIS! ^^^^^^^^^ EMD turbos used to be my favorite, but in recent years they've taken a back seat to the roots-blown units.

I joined last night and I see you now have 1K subscribers so congratulations. For a switcher they actually have decent horns and then leading into that big s-curve moving the tonnage very nice

    MP15s are GOOD pullers...
we used these in janesville, wis on the chicago and northwestern when the GM plant was open (now since closed/demolished)... my first experience switching with these was AFTER i had switched for a while with some ANCIENT GP7s...
and WOW the difference was night and day... like going from a studebaker to a corvette as far as performance is concerned

I'm no longer wondering why you like MP15 units that much ! I can understand. We're sharing the same interest. Thanks for sharing.

@@lucgagnon5241 There is just something about 50 year old switchers still earning their keep and doing it well!

@@stephenjohnson26 Hey Stephen, I'm living far East in the province of Quebec. I haven't seen many switchers in my life even if I'm close to 60 y.o. Like you said, there is something about them... for me the fact that those small engines are moving a lot of cars in tight spaces is what I like the most. Today's engines have nothing to offer (look) as the old ones did. Model railroading is the best hobby in the world. It's A LOT more than watching a model train turning on a track circle.
