07/08/2010 Sam Newman Calls In: Spud Crying

This Saturday Rub clip features JB, Garry, Spud and Damo interrupted by a phone call from a sickly, fossilised Sam Newman trying to defend himself on the Spud crying vision being shown on that week's AFL Footy Show. He uses his genuine cold as an attempt to garner sympathy, which obviously fails. He references JB and Garry from the previous clip by saying he would throw his kids, ex-wives and mothers-in-law under the bus if he so tell a lie about who organised the vision. Listen to Garry's reaction when Sam says it was a fabrication that he organised it. This one is full of gold. The crack at Elizabeth Taylor saying ouch on her wedding night, the reference to "palatial" (I'll let you figure out what Sam thinks he heard), distancing himself from saying Spud has a character flaw, "God'll get 'em." It just keeps going on and on.
