Glen: " I don't like stabbing myself in the arms"....."unlike the bloke who replaced me in the Pistols" .
Midge Ure what a man 😍😍 I wasn't even born til 1984
Interviewed by Annie Nightingale, I believe. I recognise her voice from Radio 1.
How many musicians/artists went through 3 completely different incarnations like Midge did? Amazing. He's like Dr. Who of the pop world.
Great upload.
Midge's jacket looked a little New Romantic for 1978 ;-)
Well, he was one of the pioneers, along with Bowie, and Steve Strange
@@robtyman4281 Bowie had nothing to do with the New Romantic movement or founding it.
@@StevieZero He did in the fact that he massively inspired all the New Romantics. They were fans of his music and stylistic approach and the Blitz Kids came about from a Bowie/Roxy Music Night.
@@VanielDeeform Early Punks played Eddie Cochrane,Gene Vincent and lots of reggae records...It was Bowie who copied the new romantic style& used people from that scene in his video...
*Post-Pistols + Pre-Ultravox*
Glen was great for the Pistols in 1976 but the minute they did the Bill Grundy show he was out of place with the noteriety of the band. He was too nice for them and he was more into melody. From then on through 77' to 78 McClaren needed a nasty little bastard in the band to create chaos and sell newspapers and Sid was perfect. But by the American tour Cook & Jones wanted Glen back and even Rotten regretted getting Sid in the band. He'd created his own little Frankenstein 😆
I completely agree but then the chemistry was off...the tension with Rotten words and Glen's melodies was perfect...a cheery punk is something else
OMG! Midge's mullet and sans mustache
That's not a mullet
Look, it's Moby with hair.
Midge's Bay City Rollers / Isla St Clair hairdo is real rank .Classic Glen quote "I don't like stabbing myself in the arm , cos it does hurts."
Glen had a similar hairdo.
Isla St Clair 😂😂😂😂
Ure was hard to understand those days.
I could understand him fine.
Any particular reason why you couldn't understand Midge Ure?
@@iainstirling1475 Hahaha...! ;O)
I could listen to him for hours.
A weird combination (Midge and Glen) but hey-ho...that's music.
Midge was actually Malcolm McLaren's first choice to be the lead singer of The Sex Pistols, but Midge turned him down. Imagine how music history would have changed if he had accepted.
And not a bad record, a man who left a boy band for a punk supergroup, in Rich Kids, scored success in Visage, was headhunted for Thin Lizzy before joining Ultravox and then his solo career. And who could forget his live performances as part of the Prince's Trust band.
Many musos would love a tenth of all that.
Midge Ure seems to have a long record of jumping on bandwagons with no identity of his own lolol
Молодые какие :-)
Midge was the original choice of singer for the Pistols, but he did nae wanna do it.
Thank god for that or they would have been crap.
@@twistedspanner i could see him rocking 'I wanna be anarchy', but of course he wouldn't have written that
The Pistols would have disappeared without trace.
Anyone knows the name of the show and the date?
Is that Annie nightingale?
No moustache for Ure?
That's man 🤎💜💜🧡🥰🥰😉🥰🥰🥰🌟🃏
Жаль, что БОГАТЕНЬКИЕ МАЛЬЧИКИ , не смогли раскрутится, музыка у них была потрясающая...
This means nothing to me
Ahhh Vienna
I get it! Shadup you face!
One of those men played his part to save millions of Human beings from starvation.
Sir Midge
I love Midge! Wonderful human being and amazing singer ❤️
Did no good in the longterm.....Africa will always be the armpit of the world
