Great Advice My Friends!!! Happy Homesteading to Y’all Always
Great Advice My Friends!!!
This is a great piece of advice! The sooner the better. We have added new trees every year since we obtained our property. It is also a very thought out decision before we remove any trees. The majority of our property is wooded and so we try to work with the forest around us. Thanks for sharing!
Good choice. When we clear overgrown land we like to be selective and keep some of the native species.
We bought our place in 2000 We planted Red oaks a Ginko. Some apple trees Satsumas, Myer lemon, Grapefruit. Just about lost the grape fruit. Will have to replace . Birch trees. Birch trees were a mistake. They drop limbs all year long Apple trees did not produce many apples, and the squirrels got them. Satsumas did good until winter before last. 4 degrees was to cold. Lemon tree was small enough we could cover, and put a ceramic heater. But we lost power. Had to prune it heavy. Had one lemon. Where normally nearly 100 lemons Lot of blooms this spring. In zone 8B.
Zone 9 here. February of 2021 came an unusual freeze that took our lemon and both of our bottlebrush trees. Our satsuma was hurt bad but salvageable.
In my dream homestead, trees go in first even before building a home. Be blessed y'all 🌻🍄
I'd melt if I lived in South. Where's my body A/c unit" Just saying. eh...
Great advice. And happy homesteading to y'all as well. God bless.
