Your concluding thoughts always get me. I completely understand that uncertainty, the arts just don't allow for much comfort at all, but when you do make it into that world, you'll have this to look back on and for others to see. I think I'm going to start making monthly vlogs like this too, I just love them.

I can't believe we're halfway through the year of TOTMs! It is so nice to see you so happy Hazel, you are brilliantly talented at what you do and we will never stop supporting you. As a viewer it's encouraging to watch a creator who is true to themselves and not just making videos for fame and fortunes

means nothing coming from a stranger but i really love these they're like monthly short films about your life, and although i'm sure being a youtuber with millions of subscribers would be great, i do see you more as a filmy director type person and not a youtuber, though you still are obv and you can be both but if i had to label you i wouldn't say youtuber first, the same way i wouldn't call daniel j layton a youtuber, hes an actor because thats just what he is. i hope you get to that full cake someday because you deserve to

Hey hazel! I can't even tell you how much I look forward to these every month. Recently got news that I'm moving to australia with my mams job for two years, and i'm going to watch your videos whenever I miss home. It's really comforting to be able to hear an irish accent and relate to the humour of people, even if it's on the internet! Huge thanks!

It's like a warm combination of the intimate day to day moments, and the insight into the behind the scenes of your hugely fascinating career. • @adad5781
    @adad5781 9 років тому +28

Hazel, I'm in a completey different position to yours in my life right now, but I can definitely relate to what your saying. I'm finishing my BA studies and hoping to be a translator and interpretor one day, so it is a freelance job, with no security net as well. And I think it's good that you're worried. What I mean by that is that there was a conversation during one of our English classes - the students were talking about how we're all unsure of what to do in the future, how to start, if it's gonna pay our bills and stuff like that. And I can remember my professor saying "This feeling, the worrying? Sorry to break it to you, but it never goes away." And actually, in some weird way, it made me calmer. Because I realised everyone worries, no matter what their job is, how much money they have, etc. And the best part? At least we're doing what we love in the meantime. So don't overthink it and work hard, and with your talent I'm sure you'll be on top one day. And maybe then you'll miss coming home to your flat and cooking some lunch ;)
    Love xx

These videos are honestly some of my favorite content, because you're doing what I really want to do. Last month I commented that your life seems to be so stable, and I realize now that that wasn't really what I meant. I admire, I think, that you're always trying your hardest and working all the time. You're worried, sure, but you're still doing it. I think that's what I admire most: your dedication to what you're passionate about. Very, very inspiring to see.

Every time I watch your videos, I feel a little more compelled to get started on making my own. I've thought about it for awhile, but I'm always feeling like it's too late. I don't really know anything about making films/videos, but I'd still like to try it. But I'm also scared to start. What you said at the end made me realize that even my favorite youtubers (like yourself) feel afraid sometimes, but I shouldn't let that stop me. Thank you for allowing us to see all sides of things, it really helps to know that even when you're scared/stressed, it's still worth it if you enjoy what you're doing.

I wish that I could like this more than once. That bit at the end really speaks to me as a person and as a filmmaker. I feel like I'm on a similar journey to you, but a few steps behind. It's my dream to make films that people care about. They don't have to be huge blockbusters or anything. I just want to be part of that world, make my living in that world, and I want the work that I do to make at least one person happy.
I'm so happy that you made the decision to start this series because it's been so uplifting to see you working on these films, struggles and all. I know that this is a difficult journey, and while I don't want you to have to go through so much stress, it's reassuring to know that it happens to everyone and if you can still pull through and get such amazing work out into the world, then I can too. So thanks for that. Best of luck in the rest of July.

your time of the months are awesome.
I don't quite have the words for how they make me feel, but they make me feel.
like, in a connected but distant kind of way.
like in the way a good story does, but different.
it's kinda hopeful, and you achieve so many things, and it also makes those things you've achieved seem so real and present.

You are goals, Hazel. Most definitely and utterly one of my favourite months so far! (and I'll probably say that next month!) You seem to be doing what I want to do, which is sort of like what you say about that Chasm and the Leap, I watch you and always think: I want to be in your position, to be able to make these films and meet these amazing inspiring people and it always seems to motivate me to take one more step towards what I want to do. You inspire me, thank you xx

I find these videos so inspiring! I love seeing an insight into your life, I think it does everyone a lot of good to see that a youtubers life isn't all happy sailing and isn't easy one bit. I just find it so inspiring how you managed to do that film in about a week! I've only recently subscribed to your channel but I'm really enjoying your content and was actually super excited for this video, something I haven't really felt about a UA-cam video in a long time so :) x

God hazel these videos really make me so happy. Seeing you work so hard for what you want is really inspirational and hearing the Irish accent when living away from home is really comforting. Don't worry about the future, your hard work will pay off. You're so talented.

I have always loved your time of the month videos and knew as soon as I clicked the play button that this one would be no different, but boy oh boy was I not expecting to feel what I did at the end of this months video. I'm not sure what it is, perhaps just the way you so eloquently put it, or maybe the slow music in the background but I just became so overcome with emotion when you started talking about your thoughts and hopes Hazel. I find you to be one of the most genuine, relatable and just all around talented youtubers out there at the moment and I truly wish you nothing but the best in everything you do. If for some reason youtube as a platform did disappear tomorrow, your channel and videos are ones that I would miss the most.

These Time of the month videos of yours make me unbelievable happy. Like so many people have already said, you, as a human being, and your work make me feel things. You have something calming about you...
It's amazing to see someone being so real and down to earth. You let us see the occasional shit storm and the happy days. I wish from the bottom of my heart, that one day you'll get the recognition you deserve.
I hope you get the point, sorry for my english :) All the best to you, Hazel!
Ps. Very jealous about the Magic Mike XXL cast, can't wait to see the interviews!

Hazel, I understand you're 'fear' (for lack of a better word) for the future, but seeing how much you've grown over the past while there's no doubt in my mind that you'll achieve your aims some day!
It's really inspirational watching these and especially at a time in your life like this where you're making such good short films and progressing in them so much so quickly! I cannot wait to see what you do next, while you build up to being a part of that feature film you're aiming for :)

These videos make me endlessly happy and inspired! You are so passionate and driven and you have such a thirst for life. Also, I wish there were a step to step guide on how to get my hair to look like Hazel Hayes hair.

I love watching your videos because I live in a really rural part of Ireland (what part of Ireland isn't rural xD) and you've just blossomed! It's nice to see an irish woman stand up and take control :)

Once again another superb video. The format and style of these monthly vlogs are so engaging and I particularly enjoy the final round-up and review that you do. Well done and I hope you are able to make this work for you and to get that security that you need. Peace & Love x
