    Good day, you have done a lot of stitches. I didn’t know Aida came in a linen look. I plan on buying some. With the large tree white and blue floss, could add small blue birds or a blue tope swing? Very impressed with your two drawstring bags. Vonna Pfeiffer has wonderful tutorials on a multitude of finishes. She’s very generous sharing her talents.

      Thank you Nancy. I finished the beach project, but your idea of a swing makes me want to take a look at it again to see if I can stitch that in. That would be so cute! I love Vonna, she is so creative and so clear that even I as a beginner can follow along. Wishing you a lovely weekend!

    Beautiful stitching! I enjoyed hearing about your Holiday and I hope it's all been good. We just recently went to British Columbia, Canada. I did stitch l, but not a lot, but I finished my piece before I got home. Your drawstring bags are nice. Congratulations on figuring out how to make them. Your teacup is so beautiful! I like to drink tea and in Memphis we only have 1 tea shop. When we went to British Columbia tea shops were everywhere! I had no idea you could buy so many loose leaf teas. I enjoy tea with stitching. I look forward to your next video and seeing all you have accomplished.

      Only one tea shop, I wouldn't know what to do with myself ;). We have plenty shops and they all have their own blends, so it is always a suprise what I come home with. Happy stitching!

    Hello! Thanks for another enjoyable video. I always love seeing what you're up to. I know you don't like the tree in the lighthouse piece, but it reminds me of the big windblown trees you see along some coasts. They're beautiful in their own way. I hope the rest of your time off doesn't go by too fast!

    Lovely to see all your holiday progress, and well done on sewing all the adorable little bags! So cute! I'm looking forward to seeing your wooden sewing box project progress as I found a similar one in a charity shop a few months ago. Mine has lids on the top drawers with little knobs but I'm now thinking of how I could stitch something with a black centre to fit round them. Maybe a biscornu pattern would work - double inspiration from your flosstubes! Enjoy the rest of the summer, Kim ❤

    It's funny, I googled which countries had the most athletes: China, USA & Australia = more athletes changes the odds, but I cheered for all the small countries. I was so proud for each and every athlete. I shed lots of tears, mostly happy. I don't enjoy seeing them wreck their bikes or fall and get hurt❤

    I always get excited when I see you have put out another video. I love your projects, and while I'm just commenting a few days after it's release, I did watch it within hours of its release. First though, I need to apologize. I completely forgot to go back and thank you after the previous video, for showing the maps, and where you are vs where you travel to. I loved that info. I also noticed one or two maps this time. Thank you for hearing my suggestion. I love your biscornu finish and your tablecloth. I also love the Red and Black project, and am wondering if you had gotten the pattern as a PDF from an Etsy shop or website, or if it is a paper pattern? I found it was available again as a paper chart, but shipping to Canada was going to be approximately $24. Ouch! You showed a couple of blue/green flosses at the end of your video. The Variations floss (numbered in the low 4000s) has a shorter colour length as you move through the skein, vs the original Variegated (numbers below and just above 100). I also wanted to make you aware, if you weren't already, that DMC has a breakdown on their website of the colours that are in each of the flosses in their Variations line, and also in their Coloris line. If you aren't able to find it, I'll send you the info via email.

    • @adutchstitcher
      @adutchstitcher  2 місяці тому

      Thank you so much and no need to apologise! I thought putting in the little maps was such a good idea! My red and black project is a paper pattern and I am not sure where I purchased it from. I am not sure if they do PDF, perhaps if you email the company UB Designs and let them know what you are looking for, they might be willing to help. Thanks for explaining the different flosses to me, I didnt realise there was even a different one called variations floss. I hope to use it one day, am just looking for the right project. I have the colour book from DMC, but have to admit I only look at the regular Dmc colours ;). Wishing you a lovely weekend!

    Your finishes are so beautiful. You gave me the best birthday gift ever. Your FlossTube came on my birthday and I love your channel so much so thank you for filming on the 8th. I am so glad that you decided to continue with the Landmarks piece. It is very Stunning. I thought the tree that you dislike was sand. That is what it looks like to me from the way you are showing it and how the light is going onto it. The tree truck looks like a road leading up to the sandy beach. The thing you put in between your fabric pieces is either called Craft Fuse or Interfacing. I use to work at JoAnn Fabrics and we sold a lot of these 2 things to make craft bags & clothing. You did a great job on making your bag. For my birthday start I am working in Summer Quaker on 20-count Ivory aida with 2 over 1. The stitches are so beautiful but so tiny at the same time. I just bought from 123 stitch Holly Jolly Santa by Tiny Modernist. It is the cutest Santa I have ever seen. Happy Stitching.

      Thank you so much and happy birthday to you! I hope you had a lovely day and have been properly spoiled! Isn't it interesting that you see sand and I see a tree? I really enjoyed this program of yours. My heart was taken with your photographs of your travels. I would really love to live in the Netherlands. I have visited four times. Your agricultural countryside looks so charming and well tended to me. And as a gardener I can sympathize with Tulipmania!
    I see what you mean about the blue and white piece with the tree. I think the tree is gorgeous and one of the prettiest things I've seen stitched, but compared to the rest of the piece it is much more detailed while the rest is simpler. At the bottom scene it makes sense since it is much more in the foreground so the distance would look less detailed but it is different in style than the top half. However I would not take it out! I also love your cabbage rose pieces. And I love the white on blue band sampler. And the biscornu. lol I think we have similar tastes! :) Best wishes from Kim in Iowa

    Dear Hanneke, I so enjoyed seeing all your lovely projects. Thank you for sharing your love of stitching and travel with us. If you stitch the rose again for the top of the work box you could mirror the design. Just photograph the chart on your ipad and flip the image. Vonna Pfeiffer, The Twisted Stitcher, has a tutorial for a project envelope without a zip which you may find useful. Fabric toggles are a nice finishing touch to rice bag drawstrings. I shall try to find the tutorial I have used previously for Japanese fabric 'flower' toggles. Once again, thank you. Your gentle demeanour makes for lovely viewing. You may enjoy Paula who makes flosstubes by the name of The Snail Garden. Take care, Linda.

      Thank you again Linda! Your suggestion on mirroring the design is something I am currenly thinking about. I have finished the first half of the box and am not sure if a mirror image is necessary. We'll see what I end up doing ;). I have looked up the envelop bag from Vonna and do like that one. So next time when I have a sudden urge to sew I might just try one. Happy stitching!

    Greetings from Canada! First time here and I love all your pattern choices! The roses are beautiful! I really liked the project "Bless this House" it is my kinda style. I think one of my favorites is Pili de lin Pulsion, not sure if that's correct, and I may have to stitch that as well if I can find it! You're very inspiring and I enjoyed watching and listening. Will tune in again in the future. Have you done any Dutch samplers?? Thanks for sharing.

They are not really my style, but perhaps one day I'll find one I want to start. We'll see. Happy stitching!

    Hello again, Hanneke! I have been thinking about making a biscornu for the first time, since I saw yours last time! I found the MFE collection that you used, but I was wondering, does it give instructions as to how you put together the stitched biscornu? Or did you use a tutorial elsewhere? Thank you so much! I use painters tape on my fabric and I really like this quick solution. However, I do believe some advise against it as the glue may damage the fabric in the long term. I stitch in hand and do not use anything, no hoop, no stand or anything else. Happy stitching!

    Please do not put red as the backing on the table cloth. Red fabric has a tendency to run into other fabrics when they are washed. The same can be said of blue as well. The table cloth is delightful.😊
