Have you synched your carbs yet? I did mine yesterday and it was way off on cyl 2 and 4. 1 and 3 were already in close alignment. But I noticed a big difference once it was done. It was fast and easy, everyone should do this step. Synching the cabs got rid of some smoke I had after a ride and seems to have improved the overall smoothness of the motor significantly. Highly recommend!!
So it worked for the pooping I’m having the same problem on my 75 gl1000 I’ve changed almost all the parts minus the motor and i was still getting the popping and poor gas mileage that was my next step would be great it you made a video while she’s running wish you’d made one before also but thanks for the info
Thanks for watching. I’ve recently become an Independent AMSOIL Dealer after years of using the products. Please check out my website at m7synthetic.myamsoil.com
Your wrong!!!!!!!! You do number 1 cylinder intake AND exhaust and you do number 3 exhaust and you do number 4 intake, Then you turn 360 degrees and do number 2 intake and exhaust number 4 exhaust and number 3 intake, no wonder you motor runs like shit!!!!!! if you did it the way you said it.
Those are some strong feelings. Runs like a dream. Getting 40 miles to the gallon average. Can't be that far off. But if I misspoke at any point I apologize.
@@M7Adventures Ya! it's just you did not enplane yourself fully and I had to go and look it up on line how to do it correctly. you just schemed over it. and left out a lot of info. If I did what you said I would not of done it right. people do that all the time they say1/4-1/2 the job through and we are just going to figure out the rest on are own. everybody can not read your mine to know what your are saying. about the parts you left out.
@@M7Adventures Yeah, that bottel guy needs to give up the caffeine. Damn. If any of you guys download the honda manual for the GL1000, pay attention to the valve setting specs. section 3-8, I think. My copy is in the shop, but in the image with the valve specs they have .004mm and that's too many zeros. In the text of the content beside the image, the data is correct. I just did my valves on my '78 yesterday, and it runs great, but there is a little hint of hesitation from stop to full twist. It might be my points, which i also adjusted. Minor. Flies like a jet. But my valves are still tapping more than I want them to so I'm going back into them in a day or two. Syncing carbs is not as simple as dude above says. You have to first sync 1 and 2 together, small tool required. Then sync 3 and 4 together, and then sync those two pairs together. I don't have the tool to adjust them so i'll sync later. It is a special tool just for that task. If you haven't downloaded the Honda GL1000 manual, get it. Its free and online. Will save your butts. Also, naked goldwings and goldwingdocs are fine forums for GL's. Join. Free.
