    I just wanted to say Shan thank you for not editing out the bagel incident ! My child does the same ! Kicking off about basically nothing! Thanks for keeping it real always x

      This bagel incident really hit home for you guys didn’t it😅 It’s reassuring to know that we’re all having these insanely unnecessary battles with our toddlers isn’t it🤣 believe it or not, I actually cut out a fair bit of this conversation cause it went on FOREVER 😭😅 ultimately, I decided it wasn’t a fight worth having in that moment 😅♥️

    I just LOVE this kind of natural, unscripted, totally raw content that all us mums can so deeply resonate with!! Also have loads of respect for you for protecting your babies privacy and blurring out their faces, this just shows that you can have a family channel with mum content without needing to broadcast your kids identities all over the Internet.
    *Edit* : Where are your jeans from hun? I love how they look!! 😘

      🥹🥹🥹 thank you so much!! That’s so lovely of you to say! I always battle with now much / little to share about the kids, especially George as he gets older, but I’m happy with the balance at the moment I think! It’s nice to know that people still enjoy the content! 🥰
      And the jeans are the “Tori” jeans from Newlook, but I got them on vinted for £4!!! ♥️

    Watching your vlogs is so unbelievably reassuring and therapeutic for me. I have a 3 year old and a 3 month old and I go to bed every night just praying that the wake up times are staggered so that I can at least attempt to make a cup of tea with only one child to feed, change nappy, clean up after, dress etc. This morning they both woke at the exact same time 😪I was so tired I could barely speak. Had to leave the baby crying whilst I got my toddlers breakfast and then breastfeed the baby whilst he ate. Of course she decided to take forever to feed so he was then raging because I couldn't get up and go put the tv on for him. Mornings are an absolute sh*tshow at the mo ha I can't think until I've had a brew (or two these days) so when I can't get one it just feels like an uphill battle for the rest of the day. Your vlogs make me feel like there's at least one other person in the world who gets it! 🤣

      Omg girl, you have NO IDEA how much I can relate to this!!!! This was my exact life a few months ago with Halle and George. Someone was always screaming or crying cause both of them had absolutely no patience to wait for anything 😭
      It has got easier, but it’s still HARD! Let’s not sugar coat this, being a Mum to young kids is BRUTAL sometimes 😭😅
      Like you say though, at least we know that there’s someone else out there that GETS IT!! 🥹
      Hope you got that brew this morning!! ♥️

    Thank you for being so honest and open in your vlogs. It’s refreshing to see realistic parenting! I have a toddler and find these kind of vlogs SO reassuring. Especially the part about the bagel 😂 my wee girl does just the same! Also she complains of sore legs too 😔

      Thank you, that means a lot!! I’m so glad people feel like they can relate to these moments.. cause when you’re in it, it feels like you’re the only one that has to deal with this often ridiculous and infuriating scenarios! The truth is, we’re all dealing with a metaphorical “bagel incident” with our kids at one moment or another aren’t we 😅😅

  • @alexholland8536
    @alexholland8536 18 днів тому +2

    Loved the authenticity of this vlog! You remain so calm with a toddler and trying to deal with a little one. I'm a FTM to a 14 month old and I find it challenging at the best of times so do enjoy your vlogs and that not everything is sunshine and roses :)

    • @HomeWithShan
      @HomeWithShan  17 днів тому

      Thank you so much!! It’s a struggle staying calm sometimes, and often I fail at that!!
      I always have a lot more patience if I’ve had the chance to wake up myself a bit before being thrown in at the deep end with toddler demands! This was a good morning in that respect 😅
      14/15 months is a tough age, cause the communication isn’t quite there but they’re soooo strong minded! So sending you
      Caffeine and patience, you’ll probs need a lot of both, but I’m right there with you!!😅♥️

    Hey! Thanks for sharing! George making the very specific breakfast demands is very familiar with my 3 year old! 🙈 makes me feel less alone! When I was off on maternity leave with my second. On the days my eldest was in nursery, I’d do 1 day more home-based, with housework and errands etc and then 1 day where me and my little one would have a full day out, picnic etc. that way it felt like we both had a break from the house, and also because we were out, there was less mess to clear up 😂 ie the highchair baby lunch mess. And it was also nice spending 1:1 time with the little one as normal days out at the weekend were more for my eldest/toddler based! If that makes any sense! Sometimes we’d go with friends or other times, just me and him xx

    • @HomeWithShan
      @HomeWithShan  17 днів тому

      We’re so not alone in having to cater to the specific breakfast demands are we 😅😅
      And that’s a great idea how to spread out time with your little one and housework and the rest of the mundanity 😅 I might do that this week and take H out while George is at nursery! ♥️

    Babies throwing food to the floor (or other items) is part of their development - the trajectory schema - and helps them learn about cause and effect.

    Hi Shan, loving the realistic VLOG, right there with you with a baby the same age - housework, 2 naps and 3 meals doesn’t leave much room for other fun activities! How do you keep Halle entertained while you get jobs done? (Aside from her playing with and breaking expensive camera equipment 😂) xxx

    • @HomeWithShan
      @HomeWithShan  17 днів тому

      Thank you lovely!! And yeah it really doesn’t leave much time does it!! 😅 and tbh, I really struggle keeping her entertained in her wake windows between meals haha! When the toys and dancing fruit fail, we end up going out for a walk or a potter around the shops or something to that effect! 😅 if you find any tips, send them my way!!! 😅♥️

    Great vlog Shan. I'm in the process of decluttering myself. I can definitely relate to the boring mundane cleaning tasks, plus trying to entertain my 3 year old and my 1 year old. The less clutter you have, the easier it will be to keep tidy. At least that's my plan. Unfortunately my husband brings more crap back 😂

    It would be worth exploring options with the GP for George’s legs. It could be he has issues in his spine which are causing a trapped nerve when he lays down. Given how long the problem has been going on it seems more than growing pains.

    • @HomeWithShan
      @HomeWithShan  17 днів тому +1

      Thank you for this! We’ve been to the GP and they’ve basically said they think it’s growing pains.. nothing else untoward. Part of me thinks that George is just incredibly dramatic and it is uncomfortable for him. He is honestly so active so it might be him muscles aching too!

    It’s the same with my daughter. At least twice a week, she wakes up in the middle of the night, screaming of leg pains. I give her Calpol and after like 10/15 minutes she stops and falls back asleep.

    Can just relate so much! Especially with the cup of tea 🤣 I need to chose between a walk with the pram during their morning nap or housework, and normally I always thank myself for the walk ❤️ but I know it is so hard to leave the mess. Sometimes I find cleaning their high chairs quickly before lunch (if I didn’t get to do it quickly when they are finished breakfast) and then just doing a clean after lunch instead of doing it twice if that makes sense. But leaving the kitchen a mess to go out a walk does feel wrong… I always feel so much better for the walk❤️
    It is so hard balancing it all you’re doing amazing❤️
    Hope George’s growing pains ease up soon wee soul😭 sending you lots of love ❤️ you’re such an inspiration ✨

    When I was a kid up until about the age of 10 I would often wake up in the night in pain with my legs, I used to get terrible cramps and it was worse if I had a day were I was running around a lot. With how excitable and on the go George can be maybe it’s something to bear in mind. It might not be related at all but maybe something to think about if it helps x
    I used to get hot water bottles for my legs and massage them with olbas oil.
    Also maybe because you have to carry hallie down the stairs etc maybe it’s also an excuse to get you to carry him too? I believe his legs are genuinely hurting him at times but as kids i think we’ve all used something similar to be carried by mommy somewhere haha. As you said he managed to run round the kitchen. Hope his little legs feel better soon x

    Magnesium is suppose to be good for growing pains because it is a natural muscle relaxant and anti-inflammatory I would be talking to a gp if he's taking magnesium and still screaming in pain it may be that he needs more or that there is something wrong and it's not growing pains.

    Re the growing pains, i used to suffer as a child as did my daughters (now grown up) my grand daughters now also suffer, i always say give them a spoonful of calpol and keep the legs warm, rub them/thick socks/hot water bottle. George will eventually grow out of it :) hope this helps x

    My little girl is literally just like this (she’s almost 4) we have a long hot water bottle (but the bean filled ones you put in the microwave) and she sits with that in the morning under the backs of her knees - seems to help. I’m guessing it’s growing pains for her too- she’s very tall and already in 5-6 clothes.

    Are the lenses not interchangeable on that one? Maybe you can trade it in, that's the one perk of cameras with changeable lenses, if the lenses breaks you still have a working camera body. I think you can also buy metal cages for a lot of cameras too which could be a good idea to protect it maybe? So sorry it broke! 😮

      Not that I should need to, but just the reassure you that I have been to the doctors for George’s leg pain a few times. Ultimately, it’s growing pains. He’s 3 years old and it hurts. But there’s not too much we can do other than calpol, supplements, massage the area and hot water bottles (if he lets us).
