I like Plinio and I think his friendship with Alex is beautiful, but how difficult is it to translate what Alex says without adding or changing words? Alex gave an interview to Kevin Lole and the title of the interview is something that Alex literally didn't say, this video is the same thing, Alex didn't say that Jiri is superior, only that Jiri appears to be more technical and that Hill appears to be physically stronger.

True, Alex doesn't have wrestling anywhere near even Izzy's wrestling, much less anywhere near Usman, Robert or any other guys.... But Alex is a much more of a true elite, ACCURATE power puncher than any of those. Alex isn't fancy like Izzy in movements; but he could land those punches whenever he wants, if you run at him. Again, he's also so much bigger, taller, faster, and rangier than ANY one Khamzat has ever fight or will ever fight. Alex is actually taller than Ngannou, just not as big. Also, as an elite kicker, from kickboxing, Khamzat could run into those giant knees of Alex's... Khamzat has no business at 205, just like he has no business at 170... a bit too big at 170 (because he's a wrestler, like Bo and others, who, at his height, don't fantasize going to beat up "small guys" at 170, because they know those guys down there are a bit faster, with elite striking skills).... and a bit too small, at 205...
Alex is a very likable guy, and you can tell that he's just being himself. I think this will be the biggest test for him. At the same time, because he's so skilled and gets better with each fight, he will knock Jamal right into his sweet dreams nickname.

I think hill is better in every way except maybe bjj and the unorthodox factor but hill himself is pretty unorthodox. If hill lands i think it has much more of an effect on Alex then Jiri.
Jiri may be better physically and technically, but he's less rationnal than Jamahall, For me it's a big difference, because if u're not rationnal against Poatan u're dead.

To be fair, we've seen fighters decline significantly after crazy wars. It's very possible that Glover -- especially at his age -- lost a few steps between Jiri and Jamahal

Jamahal has amazing and better boxing so he dominated Glover at his own game. Simple as that! Jiri isn’t that good against guys who have solid fundamentals in striking because his hands down style will eventually get you caught. When Jamahal connect to Alex chin, you will see that Jamahal is the real deal.

It's something for me to work on but it's not always so easy with a one-person production. If I'm looking into the camera the entire time I can't keep an eye on the sound levels, video recording, time (we had a hard out with this), their facial expressions on the screen below the camera, my next questions, etc.
I got Poatan by 2nd round KO. The only fighter Jamal has beat worth mentioning was Glover. None with the striking pedigree of Alex. All that on top of comming back from injury. If Jamal some how wins, it would easily be the most impressive come back in UFC history.

I'm not saying that Jiri is better than Jamahal but we've seen fighters (see Rory MacDonald and Robbie Lawler) really lose a step after taking lots of damage. I wouldn't be surprised if the Jiri fight took a lot out of Glover, especially at his age

Because the golden era of light heavyweight I was referencing was the one preceding Jones. Tito, Chuck, Rampage, Forrest, Couture, etc. It's when the division had the most total star power and was UFC's marquee weight class. The same group Jones eventually crushed

@@Wuzzam812 Lengths and stances my friend. Masses and balance. There is little "useful" speed difference. don´t be too fixed on "Alex slow". The actual danger and techniques in the fight. Hill winds up more, and he is not as upper body strong as Pereira, that is non-negotiable. The twist Pereira has and the plant it comes from, the actual openings and windows, you need to look at those more critically. He looks slow against all, yet he hits them with the same reach, how does that work? They know that not only can he parry, or throw, he can look the same and kick, and still do something with his hands. He lets them get close, but it never works for them. His wide hips and torqy hands do not allow no "speed punching", that can be effective. His hooks go without preparation, with more power, and mid to short distance, and very sideways/"T-bony". He just waits, and catches. For the most part, he can afford it. Extremely dangerous opponent for Hill, EXTREMELY.
If Hill doesn't take him right out and Alex hits that repaired Achilles tendon a couple times, he's all done. Thats a career ending injury and that sucks.
