Bullrush Restoration in Wabamun Lake

In this video I look at the efforts the Wabamun Watershed Management Council (WWMC) is taking to improve the shoreline around Wabamun Lake. Impacts from lakeshore development, former impacts from industry (e.g. CN Railway, TransAlta Powerplants), and ongoing development in the watershed have led to a reduced quality of fish habitat, increased erosion, impacts to water quality and the increased presence of non-native invasive plant communities.

I didnt know about this group. I appreciate what they're doing we fish Wabamun in both summer and the hard water season. Thank you to those involved in this restoration and making the habitat even better.
