i remember i made a hyperpop song on ur beat like a couple years ago when i was barely starting with the music your beats were crazy then u got that shi if u know what im sayin bout
I can't recreate the things you did with fruity convolver in the "Lie" melodies section. Maybe I'm just a noob, but it felt like you didn't explain the technique well enough. Plus you didn't show us the actual patterns there so we cant really recreate that part which sux cause it seems like a very impactful part. Otherwise tho, great vid.
@@StonedAKhana Yeah you're right, I felt like it was more of my own touch rather than 2hollis so I didn't focus on it too much in the video. If you want, I can send you a screenshot of the patterns on instagram or something. For the convolver what I did is I picked one of the presets I liked, cut some of the tail and reversed it (right click > tools > reverse). Cutting the tail is a bit of trial and error trying to get it roughly on time, then I use the stretch knob to get it how I want. I wouldn't really advise you to mindlessly copy the actual notes but I can send you a screenshot of the patterns if you think it would be helpful!
I think mixing is very hard to teach someone in a single video, it comes down to just training your ear a lot and you will get better over time. I don't feel like I drastically changed my approach to mixing since I started but somehow the result is very different. A big part of how it all sounds already starts with sound selection. In the video I show most of the important effects I use. The only thing left at that point is leveling your sounds which really just takes practice. The one advice that I think I could give you is use EQ to manipulate sounds however you want, but don't blindly EQ out too many lows or mids without having a clear goal in mind, from past experience I know it's very easy to lose the character of your sounds that way. Hope this helps!
