OMGosh! I have never seen anyone who is so obsessed with buying, trying, owning everything (by every designer and crafter, from every yarn shop). I am excited by textiles and new ideas too. But girl, you got it BAD! To "the core of your being", to quote your own words.
No, don't tone down! You are perfect, just the way you are. Your mind is filled with excitement and wonder, and that's a good thing! Would love to see you dabble in other fun things! I dabble in many things crafty, to be honest. But it can break the purse strings. haha My loves include: crochet (first always), painting, drawing, making silk flower arrangement. My past talents include cooking, bartending, singing, macrame, minimal sewing, flipping recycled items into usable again, dancing, furnture refinishing, and home decorating. Things I wish I could do (or was better at): computers, traveling, teaching crochet, exercising regularly, swimming more, jump roping, hula hooping, bicyle riding, charity work, weaving, volunteering with kids, gardening, needle punch, diamond painting, and lastly knitting. If I was rich (and young again), I would do them all. haha So see, I have an 'all or nothing' mind too. Be happy! 😄 Stay well!
This is a rainy Saturday morning, and I'm just listening to this podcast while I knit tucked in bed before starting the day, cleaning the house, working and all...
i look forward to the last friday of the month for these podcasts and you did not disappoint! love the colours you chose and really happy you learned the truth about mink and are now abandoning it :)
You should do a styling video where you try to make your knits fit different aesthetics! I would love to see a cottage-core styling vid with your beautiful knits!
I keep all my scraps in a basket and I’m saving them to make needle punch rugs that look like mold/fungus… I have a needle and instead of the monk’s cloth I reclaimed a burlap sack from my old job and a wooden frame from when we replaced our dishwasher. Once I bust through all my current stash that’s when new craft will begin >:)
Tiffany! I love seeing all of the nicer yarns you are becoming interested in since you have started sharing on UA-cam! I especially love the neutrals that you choose, and I am hoping to have the confidence to make a creamy or white knit soon!
For the neckline, I’ve found I almost always pick up less stitches around the neck than what it says in the patterns for petite knit. Not sure why! But it always works out to about 10 less stitches and it somehow still fits over my head
I made the novice cardigan chunky edition with one strand of drops melody. It creates a fuzzy fabric just like yours! And it was also quite affordable 🤩
After some googling I found out fibers from small animals like mink, angora etc. are either combed or plucked from the animal and they are not skinned (at least not in the process of making yarn, there are other animals that are still skinned for products such as fur coats etc.) Plucking is still very painful and unpleasant for these animals so you should look for yarn that has been combed from the animal if you want to buy mink or angora in the future.
for your neckline problem you can knit one or two rows of double knitting before binding off, that makes sure it cant stretch out too much. Hope you find a good solution!
Ugh, I always buy too little yarn for every project I make! anyone else? I'll buy like 7 balls of yarn and still need more!! Love your channel so much you inspire me a lot!
you're right i am regretting starting with the novice cardigan mohair edition (to be fair the mohair i got was like less than 5 usd for 400 grams since it was an acrylic blend and somewhat kinda itchy)
For the slipover with the neckline issue... totally recommend decreasing by needle sizes.. I knit her Scotty Sweater (which I'm surprised you haven't made yet!!) and that was the way you did the neckline and i absolutely love the way the neck came out. do it!!
For fabric stores in Vancouver I would recommend checking out Dressew. You can also check out blackbird fabrics, they don’t have a physical store (just online) but they’re based in Vancouver and have a local pick-up option.
The mystery yarn packs would make a good unboxing video! Maybe that would offset the cost of buying all of them. Vicarious yarn haul videos are such great content, you should do it! Plus then you could do another video of using the smaller quantities so we can see what you make with all of it.
“I will weep if I don’t have enough!” I know exactly what you mean. Have a new project and managed to confided the yards and meters. And then confused the needle size from us and mm size. So…..I have no idea how this is going to go and if I’ll have enough yarn. Might just be REALLY cropped. 🤷🏻♀️ I can’t believe how many sweaters you’ve been able to work on this summer!! They look amazing! I’m super jelly about the Sunday tee. For whatever reason I’m struggling to understand the pattern directions even though the knot itself looks simple enough. After this sweater I’m getting back to it. I’m making mine in an almost mustard yellow so we won’t be too matchy. ❤️☺️
this episode has convinced me that im have to do the sweater 15 and its going to be the first time im going to use mohair im scared....but also excited hehehe
Tiffany please could you do a video showing your most favourite yarns ever! Also please show us some within different price ranges and textures and weights. Greatly appreciated 🥰🥰
Same! Like I'm kinda iffy making Aran weight sweaters since it's so hot here in my country. I like DK and fingering the best. Do you know of a sweater vest pattern that is in fingering?
Just FYI I did an experiment with hats and I found that MOST hats use about 75-85g of yarn regardless of yarn weight, unless you’re making an exceptionally large Hat or one with a A LOT of complex cables.
The Honey Clutch! I don’t have the right needles or yarn weights so I’ve made 2 using the pattern but are 17.5cm (fingering held double on 3mm) and 20cm (dk +lace on 3.75mm) Once you’ve made one, it’s pretty simple to figure out how to make the others based on her Instagram photos (by literally counting the stitches lol.)
Hey girl! Just recently found your channel and love your videos sm. I am a crochet gal and you make me want to become a knitter soo badly. I literally want to make every Petite knit sweater but that definitely wont be happening anytime soon considering I can even make a swatch for gauge. (I should probably do something chunkier first, but I don't want to lol I just want to be good at knitting *cries*)
@@typicalbliss girl omg so basically they sell yarns in packs of 4-10 balls for like prices that would be similar to buying like 4 balls at any other store... ice yarns is a warehouse so i guess thats why its super cheap. theyre located in turkey and when you go to check out and see the shipping youre gonna wanna closee the tab but i swear its SO worth it, if you divide the shipping amongst every ball of yarn youre getting it makes sense plus it arrives super fast!
I'm happy i have cheaper options for mohair in cones in Korea. Even premium ones from Italy or Peru, they are still expensive, about $25 for 100 grams. I think I should get more!
tiffanyyyyyy i wasn't ready for you mentioning me!! I've been following you for a while and i just love you excitement so much! the other day i saw you name on my orders and was very close to sending you a dm but then i was afraid that it was someone else with the same name and i'd look crazy... love your stuff and if you ever want to get into sewing and need any help feel free to reach out!
OMG WHUUUT no ur stuff is actually so beautiful, I scroll through ur insta feed probably once a day!! haha yeah that was meee, I will definitely reach out when I need help, cuz I'll need help for sure
Hey Tiffany, don't wanna be a buster, but all that caked up yarn behind your head is making me nervous. I discovered one day when I caked a skein (I knew it would be easier to knit from the cake than the skein) it seemed really tight like the yarn had stretched (it was also very springy yarn.) Sooo I recaked it from the cake. Then it came out all fluffy and I believe the yarn was not being stretched nearly at all. Then Stacy Perry from VeryPinkKnits came out 2 days later with a video on caking your yarn twice to keep it from stretching!! All this happened after I heard that you aren't supposed to cake until you're ready to use it. Like I said, I hope I'm not busting. I was gonna send this privately, but figured maybe it will help someone. Love your videos!
Nooo thank u !! Someone told me that before and I don’t cake my nice yarn until the last moment. All the yarn above is leftover acrylic so I don’t really mind if they stretch!!

Once I get brave enough to make cables and lace patterns I’m definitely doing her pieces 🥰
Tiffany, I got a question. I bought your vest pattern, the very first you made. I like the design but I want the fit to be more loose. Could I just change the fit by increasing stitches or should I buy that pattern you are wearing and just change cable design? (I like how you alternated cable column and solid stockinette column!)
