- A montage of all the scenes involving the Crazy Parade (some parts removed to avoid spoilers) from the 2006 Anime movie "Paprika", which was a source of inspiration for the Christopher Nolan movie "Inception".
The music is from the movie soundtrack, the track for the Parade. (Shortened to fit the video.)

聞いてるだけでこんなに不安になって、吐きそうになるくらい不気味なのに、目がはなせない
今やもう不安感が消えてしまった(´▽｀;;;
曲単体でみれば師匠の歌の中ではまだ理解しやすいし歌いやすい方なんだけど、映像の狂いっぷりがいいな。人が意図して作り出せる狂気の極致というか、観てて不快にならないギリギリを攻めた狂いっぷりが良い。いろんな要素があらゆる整列を拒否して異次元の理路の元蠢いてる感じがたまらない。
I would totally watch a spin-off of that fridge and microwave going on journeys.
I think the parade itself should have been revealed as the true antagonist of this movie. No motive, just the catastrophic unintended result of the dream technology gone wrong.
A walking fridge would be a very unsettling sight to see.

The Culture in Japan changes over the last Decade without doubt. Yet many things Prevail. The Manga and the Anime it's almost an Indisputable Part in that Culture totally. And I think it's Great. I love all this Things. Thanks.
I gotta say man, youre doing quite the disservice to Satoshi Kon's unique works. nobody else in the world, let alone japan, has really even attempted this sort of joyful, mad psycho-odyssey. it's hardly a country-specific thing.

@@EmptyMan000 you're already part of this parade. This parade is satirical reflection of our society (Japanese society in this anime). And it ends nowhere, it's a repetitive cycle.

Andrew Todaro Did you know the illustrator for angels egg, yoshitaka amano also drew the art for the earlier final fantasy games pre VII and still does all the final fantasy title logo's...his art style truly shines in FFVI. Very good artist, they should use his art in a alice in wonderland game or something.. that'd be awesome

This song is nothing but Golden Brown by The Stranglers. Satoshi Kon's Paprika is a must seen, one of the best anime ever. I don't even put in doubt Susumu Hirasawa's qualities as a composer, but putting apart tempos and some of the notes, Golden Brown is the obvious inspiration for Paprika Parade

The Mad Parade. Once you’re In it, you turn into the weirdest things and began spouting random stuff. An endless parade celebrating the madness of the human mind!!
I just realized that this movie has a very interesting image of the human mind. People who keep telling stuff like: this is what is going on in my head everyday'' might be telling a kind of truth, as there is a syndrome that literally lets you go in a state of mind like this. it is called ADD. It's literally ADHD, but then in a persons mind. i myself have it and am not even disturbed by this. it is just a representation of someones mind. Japan did some great work here representing stuff like it. GG japan.

I have ADD and it's not remotely similar to this. Perhaps a mix of ADD and schizophrenia could result in this however.
i have ADD and bipolar disorder i like to think the parade scenes are the crazy state of it!
Another ADHD person and... yeah! Because there's so much to pay attention to all at once, and ideas kind of mash into one another creating crazy mixes, but you can't remember which ones were the mixes and which were the ideas.
Well this parade is actually part of the detective's dreams. Because of the errors causing dreams to mesh with reality, this parade marching through the city and changing people is pretty much the ultimate form of projecting. So, the question I have is, do you go around parading your issues to people to garner some sort of belonging? #Whocanrelate? IT'S SHOW TIME!

Might be late to answer but Paprika has what Inception doesn't, and it's the nonsense element, chaotic nature and malleability of dreaming. In short, what makes a dream a dream.
Inception is pretty good as well but the dreams were treated very mechanically there.

@@ksimvanderhlaar So true! Having watched 'Paprika' for the first time only recently, I realized just how dull, uninteresting and bereft of imagination 'Inception' really is. In that movie, people merely dream the real world, just with buildings folding in at some point. Chases and gunfights, that's all Inception offers. In f'in dreams!

あの動画のコメでパレードの歌詞の考察が書かれてたからよく読みながら聞いてたのに…
What really gets me about this is right at 2:58. Dreams have invaded reality and the parade is going on through Tokyo, but for these brief 4 seconds we see that... the parade isn't real? Or that other people see it as less fanciful? Every other scene shows the dream parade, but in that tiny scene it's just regular people and shoddy structures crawling through the streets.

今日、オウムが実行した事件の２０周年のテレビの報道で番組で見たオウム真理教の祭壇のようなまとまりのない狂気の世界をそのまま表現したもののようだ。厳密にはあんなもの「祭壇」とはいえない下品極まりないふざけたものだと思った。この動画とBGMは面白い。

this is was mad crazy movie, and the parade scene was trippy as hell, but i LOVED it! Always will it be one of my favorites and Satoshi Kon (may he forever rest in peace) was just a genius. What's the audio, btw? Does it have a title, or is it just part of the movie's music?
