I just love how you teach August. You answer the questions in my head before I ask them. What a gorgeous piece and that pink in there gave it an elegant touch ❤
Always beautiful blue colors. Great tutorial and tips August where they learned from you what to use colors or the cell contrast activators. Great one result transfer bloom
August, first you are a great instructor! Second, I just told Tonja that I only like "blooms" when I can see the individual artists' style/personality in them. You always WOW me and create something not only gorgeous but interesting... interesting is what makes people remember your art! Very interesting August! 😊🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁
Absolutely beautiful August!! You are adorable and your art is a pleasure to watch unfold. I am a fluid artist who lives in Stratford Ontario Canada 😊 My 31 yr old son's name is August too❤❤ Thank you for sharing with us,( I just wish your videos were longer😍😍)
That’s so cool your son’s name is August! I’ve never met someone else named August besides my uncle. I so appreciate your kind words and encouragement. It means a lot. 💙
The Tri-Art is so different from the Amsterdam. I’ll admit, I got frustrated with it at first, but then did a 3:1 ratio by weight (24 grams Aussie Flo + 8 grams paint) and it worked much easier. When I tried a 2:1 it was pretty thick and harder to spread out.
Love the effect you got! I struggle with my colors washing out too much. I've tries adding more color to the paints and more paint to the bloom but it's still washing out more than I'd like. You're using way less paint than I am and yours seems to have stayed vibrant. Man, this takes so much practice!
Shelee told me try a darker transparent on top and that helps. The first ones I tried were doing what you said and washing out, but I think that dark color helped.
Love the simmer in this. I have a question for you if I may? There is so much on youtube and other places I have researched that say I must use a primmer or gesso first prior to painting on any wood no matter what kind of wood it is otherwise the wood will warp and, or the paint will get sucked into the wood. Then we have the other side telling me there is no need to primmer or gesso, you can just pour right on top of the wood. As you can imagine this is very confusing, at least to me. I don't know if the bloom technique, when used on wood is different than any other acrylic pour on wood that is telling me the same thing? Also have you found an easy alternative to substitute for Behr 8300 for PM that you like that does not require several and maybe expensive ingrediencies? Thank you for your time. Always enjoy watching your videos. Hope you have a paint prefect day!
Hi, Martha!! I was originally told that mdf doesn’t need to be primed and wood does. But if it’s thick wood or cradled it doesn’t. I honestly don’t know because I’ve been using 8” thin rounds and haven’t needed to prime them (they haven’t warped at all). I wonder if the bloom recipe makes a difference, but I’ve seen people using the bloom PM and still have boards warp so I assume it has to do with the brand and quality maybe? I know the wood rounds from Fluid Art Co don’t need to be primed, even though it’s real wood. It’s so confusing. I would suggest doing a test piece when you first use a new brand to see if it warps. For the pouring medium, I’ve been using the one Shelee used at PourCon. We can’t get 8300 in California or Nevada so the alternative was 65% 3300 + 35% Varathane Triple Thick Semi-Gloss. The colors get muted when mixed but dry nicely.
@@AugustsAcrylicArt Thank you so much for your time and in depth information. Still confused but at least I'm not alone. LOL I will look to Fluid art Co. to get my wood rounds, at least until (if and when) I figure this all out. Have a great day and thanks again!!
I haven’t needed to prep these. I’ve used some in the past that would warp but I’ve been getting these from Amazon and no issues. I’ll post the link in the description right now.
The first part was a 6” round and the larger square was 10” I believe. I use a scale for everything nowadays, but I do have to adjust for certain brands because I’m going by weight and not volume.
Beautiful painting August, Thank you for sharing! ❤

Curious to what size that is and on your ca I go by tablespoons or whatever grams I'd have to break a scale out. But it turned out stunning. 🤩👍
