What's the big deal about pronoun changing? Honestly--you might construe it as a "musical no homo" but...if you're covering another song, it's YOUR version. You sing how you feel is right for you--maybe you have a significant other in mind when you sing and they don't use the pronouns from the original song. Jeez. If you don't cover music, don't judge. -_-

In the original it's never really clear why the father disapproves of them getting married but when it's sung by a girl (and she doesn't change the pronouns) it becomes apparent that the father is homophobic. I love it, I think it really enhances the song. Props to Colbie!
Not to compare because I love them both, but the first time I ever heard Kina Grannis sing, I kept thinking her voice sounded somewhat familiar.
