CROWNING MOMENT: Miss Universe 2008

Miss Universe 2008, the 57th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 14 July 2008 at the Crown Convention Center in Nha Trang, Vietnam. Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela was crowned by Riyo Mori of Japan as her successor at the end of the event. 80 contestants competed in this year which was broadcast and distributed globally via NBC in English and Telemundo in Spanish to TV outlets in more than 180 countries. The pageant was watched by a live audience of 7,500 and nearly a billion television viewers worldwide.

Kitten Mochi So why is Zuleyka shading the new Miss Japan as though they are the same person? In that case it would be outright rude that she is taking it out on Riyo for her country. Furthermore, Japan didn’t just walk away, the moment a winner is crowned, the second runner up is instantly ushered away, to allow the winner to be the only one on video. And you can see in zuleykas crowning that Japan was moved away in 3-4 seconds after the crowning. Zuleyka was Miss Universe and she should be held to very high standards when crowning, besides standing there with a frown and not being enthusiastic, because Riyo is a new person.

La hermandad, empatía, carisma, suspicacia entre las dos es notable. Que bonito se vieron ambas tomadas de la mano esperando el veredicto.
