Hey, anyone who has that pitch pedal, try setting it at a perfect 5th up interval and play progressions using minor 7th chords. Shit's🔥then continue your pedal chain like this: vibrato>reverb>fuzz. Sounds like a dream...a lo-fi, nostalgic dream of an event that never happened.
The stereo effect on the analog setting with a short slapback echo is mind blowing. It doesn't just bounce hard left to right, but varying degrees of left and right in the stereo field. It creates a swirling 3 dimensional effect that makes the sound convincingly surround you, not just left and right or vanishing into the distance, but from all different directions and points in space. It's something that must be heard with headphones to truly appreciate. I had the knobs set to the typical analog lo-fi short delay slapback that's good for palm muting and clean staccato Barre chords and was so impressed. I hadn't heard anything like that from my Boss DD-8. I'm sure it's capable but it doesn't do it out of the box. You have to trigger a secret mode or something. These pedals just give it to you. They're that good. I got the delay last month, I'll be getting the reverb soon, and that pitch shifter is looking good right now. I'll probably skip the modulation pedal because I have a Wampler Terraform and an HX Stomp so I don't think there's much it could add but it's still very impressive.
To me the reverb & modulation is most attractive. Quite biased tho because I am seeking a multi function mod pedal. Soo to be honest it probably sounds the worst. Also has to account the latency potential which is more safe when buying something more high end and expensive.
I bought the cetus reverb, very beautiful sounds, anything you play can take a new and inspiring dimension. can be playing for hours just listening to the mesmerazing reverberations and modulated sounds it produces. beautiful artwork too.
It's crazy these are only 100 bucks & have a multi-parameter "Automation" recording system. Only a 5-second buffer for knob recording, but still better than the nonexistant alternative in other similarly priced options. Wish that Pitch pedal was true stereo I/O as well, since cheap stereo pitchshifters are pretty non-existent. *EDIT:* Damn, also was very curious to hear the Multi-Channel & RingMod and Flanger quality on the Modulation pedal, but only those were skipped. 🙃
Excellent demos and "Cetus" is Greek for whale ergo, the constellation of the same name. Really enjoy you demos of pedals, have dipped my toe in the ambient pool with the Cetus as a result of this video.
I know certain buzzwords get views, but for general information, these are not really 'budget,' or 'cheap.' But they have more features than most pedals of their price range.
They’re a line of pedals with sound quality and features that rival pedals that average at 100+ above this price point. I’d say that absolutely qualifies as budget
There is something really special about this pedals, they have soul the sound takes you in , it’s like the old tube amps , it’s amazing I will get them all
The Mad Professor Kosmos(no longer made) ambient Reverb, has a couple different swell effects, that are the only ones I’ve ever been able to use, that felt like how it sounds using my volume knob or a volume pedal. The footswitch brought in the swell, so one could have the dry and a swell. Not sure if it’s what you were talking about, concerning the ALABs reverb. I actually use the Plate, Hall and Room on it, for traditional reverb. I’m trying to decide on a stereo reverb, that isn’t priced too high, but has good simple Plate, Room and Hall verbs, with some added ancient ones, being secondary. These are great just for the stereo function, at a low price. My stereo TC pedals don’t sound as good as these. I have a Raster 2, that I’m running stereo out, into two mono TS cables. Would the ALABs pedal’s stereo width, be effected by the Raster 2? Or vice versa? The Raster 2, can be parallel, ping pong or into the other, so I wonder if the Alan’s still keeps the same spread, regardless, or if the tech would have trouble with one another. I know it can handle a TRS stereo input, so I guess it receives another stereo pedal however it’s setup, but I just wonder if these will muddy the Raster 2 stereo effect, when receiving it.

I have all but the Orbital Pitch. Got them last month and they are amazingly good.
This is by far the best budget ambient setup. Hands down.

Does the reverb trail when you turn it off?
Sounds amazing. Mark would you recommend the Amp Stereo? Or would I be better off going the Ruby/Dream combo route? I play in a worship band
I've only used my Novadrift in mono... Although there's a nice set of effects, they don't sound up to par with my other modulation pedals.

Great pedals for a good price! FYI, I think the swell on the Walrus R1 reverb may also affect the dry signal.

Hi, does this work with an external tap tempo switch? I can't decide between this or the DD-8. And are there dotted 8th notes as a easy selection?
