I've had 4 Isuzu Troopers. I love them. I had an 86 3 door and it never let me down. Went everywhere. I sold it because I thought I had to have a Land Cruiser. It left me stranded several times.
You are 100 % right . My family anfmd myself had at least 5 isuzu p'ups. These were the original actual isuzu drivetrain ones ( not mitsubishi like the later ones) the only thing that stopped them was rust .
My uncle had a first year bravada , identical to the white one with the rear tire. It was lemonade. It had all sorts of problems. The transfer case, the transmission, and the engine, all went within the first 7k. If you can find a jimmy with leather seats, it’s basically the same thing, with a 2/4wd transfer case.
I’m sorry but nothing absolutely nothing will ever beat the durability of the jeep Cherokee xj 4.0 and aw4 transmission combination. Hands down best set up ever in history. Nobody has ever come close
Legendary power plant/trans combo. Had it in my '01 TJ wrangler. After 150k miles it had the typical small oil leak, but when I sold it for MORE than I bought it for 10 years and over 210k miles later. Purchased it with 30k miles/5 years old, sold it in '16 with 250k miles, although it went from stock to 4" lift, tummy tuck, 35"x12"x15" AT tires/classic style Craiger rims, a long list of upgraded accessories, I still sold it for $12k dollars, purchased originally for $10.5k
I think the Bravada would’ve been better served under the Buick lineup. I think it was out of the question offering it in the Cadillac lineup with those bare minimum changes.
I always liked the "OBS" Oldsmobile Bravada. Blazers and Jimmys were everywhere and although Bravada wasn't necessarily a rare vehicle... compared to the amount of others on the same platform kinda made them seem as so
I liked the styling of the Olds Bravada 1st and last generation. The 2000's last generation is where I believe Olds perfected it, but by then, there were too many GM badge engineered variants, including one from Saab 97 X
Here in the Netherlands the first Nissan patrol types were very popular but started rusting after 2 years.. The engine was indestructible, but frankly it was a true rust bucket in the Dutch climate..
Although I've never owned or driven an Olds Bravada, I remember when I first saw one. It was around the time it was intro'd to the American public. Except for the Oldsmobile name and logo, it looked very much like other GM model SUVs of the same class, such as the Chevy S-10 and GMC. I actually found the Bravada the best looking of the bunch
That Isuzu Vehicross was a superb vehicle ahead of its time... In today's world where everyone buys SUV's and cars are all overly expensive, an Isuzu Vehicross would still look amazing and would sell like hotcakes... I can compare it with Range Rover Evoq which is overly expensive, not practical at all and very unreliable, but still sells like mad, they are everywhere.... A Vehicross would be a very appealing alternative with a fresh look and more capable offroad
I couldn't decide if I liked the look of that thing or not. I finally decided I liked it. (At least mostly lol) I would still own one just for it's capabilities, even by today's standards. I bet that thing is still a beast.
The transfer case on the Bravada had a limited slip center differential so tight, if you turned the steering wheel to park, the forward momentum would slow to a stop as if you hit the brakes. The Mercury Mountaineer was much the same way.
I liked both the Bravada and the Acura SLX. I wanted to find either one after my GMC Jimmy was totaled back in '02. Both were unique in their own ways.
I have a mk1 89 Pajero and 88 Raider and there awesome and came with interesting features like 3 springs and a damper under the driver seat and factory inclinometor.
I like how all the features photos are just stock ones of those features in other cars available today, rather than photos of those features in the actual Bravadas…
If you have an older Navaho or Explorer that the door placard says the tire pressure is 26 psi, fill them to 30. Ford came out with a technical bulletin recommending all previously 26 psi tires to be filled to 30 psi.
I forgot all about the V-cross. That would sell now and I see why I've never seen one for sale. I'm sure it lacks aftermarket support unfortunately. Now I have to look. I own an 03 R50 Pathfinder and that Gen has very little aftermarket support although it's a decent suv. Has its problems but you can get rid of most of them. Mines coming up on 180k miles and is still running great. It'll scoot down the highway, tow my 25ft camper nicely and can hit some trails. Keep up on maintenance and you can get 300k+ miles.
My 2000 Bravada is still the best car I've owned. A total bitch to work on and a super temperamental Smartrac system. But otherwise it's been a great rig. 181000 miles and still running strong.
IFS was the downfall of real SUVs, they say the ride was better. I call BS, if you ever rode in a Jeep Grand Cherokee, with a solid front axle and coil springs, you would know they can be built to ride great
The Bravada was a piece of garbage. My auto shop teacher had to trade his in every two years because of wiring defects and crap interiors. He only paid for the 1994, the next three were at the dealers expense.
@ckryses3962 People like us can be the proverbial liquid turd at parties, correcting the incorrect. Yet we realize this is precisely why God put us here, in this particular era. To maintain legitimacy, & educate the uneducated.
All great forgotten SUVs, but when mentioning the Dakar Rally. You forgot one of the most important ones, the mk1 Mitsubishi Montero/Pajero/ Shogun/ Dodge Raider/Hyundai Galiper.
You're out of your mind by comparing lightweight subcompact, unibody offroader with compact to mid size body on frame suvs that are able to two thrice as much as what Niva is capable of.
15:15 - Mazda did not work hard to distinguish Navajo from Explorer. 😂 16:02 - What's this?! Just dropping in modern Mazda images as if they resemble anything the Navajo had?! 😂 Embarrassing. Mazda had no reason to do this Explorer badge job. They had a SUV of their own, based on their B-Series pickup. They could have done a little work to make it more like the 4Runner or Pathfinder.
There was the reason - it was cheaper this way since Mazda would have to build factory in NA to bring their truck based wagon (which was outdated and more utilitarian compared to the rest).
I still drive one of these mine is a Chevy trailblazer. They come. With a powerhouse 4.3 l vortex V6 and can climb and drive through just about anything. The 4.3 l engine can last several 100000 miles if you just take a little care of it..
Incorrect... They do not, nor have they ever had the 4.3L V6 (aka sawed off 350) They come with the MUCH BETTER 4.2L or 4200 atlas engine, or a less selected V8. I have had 2 trailblazers, first one made 436k miles, second one had 236k when I sold it, I have the Envoy currently with 227k miles on it. I know these things like the back of my hand.
GTFOOH! You cracked the case! For *YEARS* people have been unaware. Now, Chevy, GMC, and Olds are exposed for their secret! All three models were essentially the same, distinguished by some trim pieces. I hope this revelation lands you a role with the FBI. You have great investigation skills
I haven't made it 45 seconds into this video and there's already an issue. The Jimmy shown here isn't the S15 Jimmy that's based on the S10 Blazer platform
I've had 4 Isuzu Troopers. I love them. I had an 86 3 door and it never let me down. Went everywhere. I sold it because I thought I had to have a Land Cruiser. It left me stranded several times.

They were great until you got an automatic transmission, then it turned into an Isuzu Pooper when the transmission went boom.
Drove a 89 Isuzu space cab for many years. Excellent vehicle
My dad still has an old Isuzu rodeo 4x4 300.000 miles still on the road.
Just traded off my '94 Bravada Gold Edition. Forest green. Digital dash still worked and it is still going strong at 220k miles.
Nice RC car suspension at 7:03.
Omg I can't believe they put that in here!
I've always wondered if Olds had focused more on the Bravada instead of the Aurora sedan as everyone was moving towards SUVs.
Maybe but Oldsmobile wasn't selling enough vehicles for General Motors.
Pajero holds the Guinness world record for most dakar wins in its class from 84 to 07
Mitsubishi monerto / dodge radier should be on the list , the patrol by Nissan is still in production
I’m sorry but nothing absolutely nothing will ever beat the durability of the jeep Cherokee xj 4.0 and aw4 transmission combination. Hands down best set up ever in history. Nobody has ever come close
I heard the the 4.0 liter engine had a head cracking problem or engine block cracking problem.
Legendary power plant/trans combo. Had it in my '01 TJ wrangler. I wouldn't count XJ Cherokee as forgotten.
That 4200 Inline 6 is a BEAST, there are UA-cam vids of these Built putting out Over 800 HP!
I liked the first gen Bravada. Trooper II /Acura SLX. Neat love how these types of vids all use clips from the Awesome Motorweek!
I have an isuzu mux 2015 model. 150k on the clock and still goes like a dream with the 4jj 3.0l done.
Great video! Subscribed!
I think the Bravada would’ve been better served under the Buick lineup. I think it was out of the question offering it in the Cadillac lineup with those bare minimum changes.
I always liked the "OBS" Oldsmobile Bravada. Blazers and Jimmys were everywhere and although Bravada wasn't necessarily a rare vehicle... compared to the amount of others on the same platform kinda made them seem as so
GM brought out the Bravada as a direct response to the Jeep Cherokee Limited that was already selling well and popular.
Damn the EGR on those W motors... 🙄
I liked the styling of the Olds Bravada 1st and last generation. The 2000's last generation is where I believe Olds perfected it, but by then, there were too many GM badge engineered variants, including one from Saab 97 X
I miss Isuzu, they had cheap, but very innovative cars, pickups and SUV's like the Vcross.
Best suvs where Jeep Cherokee, Ford Broncos, and old school Chevy Blazers
I wanted a Bravada, back in the day, but i I ended up getting a Blazer, ; it never let me down; but I wish I could have gotten the Bravada
Here in the Netherlands the first Nissan patrol types were very popular but started rusting after 2 years..
The engine was indestructible, but frankly it was a true rust bucket in the Dutch climate..

Very good very I just subscribed Awesome keep them coming brother 👍 👌 ❤❤❤❤❤❤
The transfer case on the Bravada had a limited slip center differential so tight, if you turned the steering wheel to park, the forward momentum would slow to a stop as if you hit the brakes.
The Mercury Mountaineer was much the same way.
That white GMC, near the beginning, was not a GMT-330 (S10/S15/Bravada) platform, it was a full size K5 platform.

And the vortec 4.3 picture isn't even the right one. The first vortec 4.3 had the funky spider injection.
I had a Dodge Raider. It was amazing.
😮 wouldn't mind having a 2001 to 2005 version
If you have an older Navaho or Explorer that the door placard says the tire pressure is 26 psi, fill them to 30.
Ford came out with a technical bulletin recommending all previously 26 psi tires to be filled to 30 psi.
21:47 😂not a 1.6
I use to run bravada taillights and grills on my s10s from the 80-90s to make them stand out
The Vehicross is awesome
Interesting picks. Id have put the original 03-05 Lincoln Aviator on this list. Maybe if it was expanded to 10, it mightve made it.
Fun fact- same tcase was used in the gmc typhoon
Don’t forget the “Amigo”!
Those vortec v6s will absolutely never die
Wrong. It was an S15 Jimmy. That's a picture of a full size Jimmy at 0:40.
I can never understand why these people always use the wrong pictures 🤦🏾♂️
Thats the first time I've seen the digital instrument cluster since my 92 s10 Chevy Blazer. It had the Tahoe package.
I forgot all about the V-cross. That would sell now and I see why I've never seen one for sale. I'm sure it lacks aftermarket support unfortunately. Now I have to look. This is a great production.
😂

The GM vacuum operated automatic transfer case was great when new but it was hard to fix when it got old and broke.
Yea, we had one, completely junk
IFS was the downfall of real SUVs, they say the ride was better. I call BS, if you ever rode in a Jeep Grand Cherokee, with a solid front axle and coil springs, you would know they can be built to ride great
The Bravada was a piece of garbage. My auto shop teacher had to trade his in every two years because of wiring defects and crap interiors. He only paid for the 1994, the next three were at the dealers expense.
28:16
Was about to say that...then i thought ""let's check in comments if anyone noticed it as well""...
@ckryses3962 People like us can be the proverbial liquid turd at parties, correcting the incorrect.
Yet we realize this is precisely why God put us here, in this particular era. To maintain legitimacy, & educate the uneducated.
I had a 94 s-10 Tahoe addition, 2 Wheel drive 4.3 V 6, I drove the piss out of that truck! Other than wear and tear it held up great!
For some reason, I don't remember ever seeing or even hearing of the Mazda Navajo
Yes, just a re badged ford Explorer. Mazda also had the b1000 which was a ford ranger.
They made b4000 too which was a ranger with a 4.0 V6.
All great forgotten SUVs, but when mentioning the Dakar Rally. You forgot one of the most important ones, the mk1 Mitsubishi Montero/Pajero/ Shogun/ Dodge Raider/Hyundai Galiper.
miss the troopers
9:06 those are not second gen Troopers!
Came close to buying an amigo the price was a little high and it had very little power so i didn't. I like the look of it tho
How come such legend as the Land Cruiser got left out?
Have You read the title of the video?
how about the RC at 7:03
So you say the Oldmobile Bravada was the BluePrint for the Family Luxury SUV? So what was the Range Rover or Mercedes-Benz G Wagon then?
More like Wagoneer, Range Rover and Monteverdi Safari.
G Wagon became luxury somewhere during late 90'/early 00'.
Monsters and dodge raider? Do love early 3 door Isuzu esp diesel
You should add some background music
Cultural sensitivity well if that’s the case if they ever name a car the Viking, I’m gonna get offended. What a bunch of bullshit.
Can i talk with Admin ?
The olds bravado was the same exact thing as the blazer s-10
NO WAY! How did nobody realize that???
You missed the Jeep Cherokee XJ. 😭
Lada Niva with the Russian version of the FIAT engine betters all of these.
You're out of your mind by comparing lightweight subcompact, unibody offroader with compact to mid size body on frame suvs that are able to two thrice as much as what Niva is capable of.
The images are awful, lots of inaccurate stock Internet images
There’s even some RC car photos lol.
The most forgottenn suv is the romanian ARO ,man they were bad cars but they were ok in off roading
Photos of the 2nd gen bravada are of a 3rd gen interior.
I would buy a vehicross today if they sold them
Still such a damm shame oldsmobile went away Pontiac too
15:15 - Mazda did not work hard to distinguish Navajo from Explorer. 😂

Mazda didn’t work hard to change the Navajo. Is was 99% ford with a different grill lol

What about the Kia Borrego?
Mohave went out of production last year.
Why don’t you show actual interior pics of the vehicle you’re talking about?!?
I still drive one of these mine is a Chevy trailblazer. They come.

with 227k miles on it. I know these things like the back of my hand.
3,956 cubic inch inline six cylinder???? 😂🤣
Centimeter*😅
The gm blazer bravada jimmy was trash. The 2.8l engine would blow the head gasket at 40k miles right after the warranty expired
Since Bravada was never offered with that engine that means it wasn't trash.
The Bravada was just a S10/Blazer with leather seats and the handling was no better than a S10/Blazer. 😏 Same terrible V6 engine.
GTFOOH! You cracked the case! For *YEARS* people have been unaware. Now, Chevy, GMC, and Olds are exposed for their secret! All three models were essentially the same, distinguished by some trim pieces.
I hope this revelation lands you a role with the FBI. You have great investigation skills
God, those HORRIBLE 1990's GM interiors 💩
Navaho: Just another case of a Karen getting out of control
Bravada = BS
I drove one of the early 200s model the tranny fried out. Not impressed
The atlas inline 6 is a 💩 motor,
I haven't made it 45 seconds into this video and there's already an issue. The Jimmy shown here isn't the S15 Jimmy that's based on the S10 Blazer platform
REALLY mazda using native american culture identity for profit? JEEP????
