    Got the loaded 2.0T about a month ago. I'm in love. Was ready to go hybrid, but performance was well below acceptable. All controls are meticulously laid out, and the tech is top notch. Active cruise and lane keep have revolutionized the way I drive. I call it half-autopilot. It's early, but the transmission and brakes are both a bit jumpy. Comfortable as hell. AC seats in FL are a live saver. And she looks purdy, too. Loaded to the T's, this is a $40k car, but I'd argue there's nothing else even close in this price range.

      Me too- I bought the same exact car in this video about 5 days ago (also in FL)-- the white with black rim appearance package. With the extra accessories it's like a completely different car from the regular tourings. The accessories just tie it all together so that everything just works!

    I bought a CR-V LX in February and I LOVE it 💯. The Accord is fantastic as well, but I chose the CR-V cause I wanted more cargo room, reliability, great handling, comfort, inexpensive to own, and decent horsepower.

    Having the 1.5T Touring, I agree with most of your views on the various differences in features. 2 other features that you get with the Touring are the adaptive dampers and the 19" wheels. With the 17" wheels on the EX-L, your ride would be smoother and quieter I would think. This is where the adapter dampers help with the ride on the Touring with it's low profile wheels/tires.

    We love our 2018 Honda Accord Touring 2.0 , the HUD is a really useful addition . No rear charging ports though , that would have been helpful for my son in the back seat . The center console is awkwardly placed , it’s a fair size but be ready to bang your passengers elbow . The glove box is to small . Cooled seats to help keep you cooler then most leather sears . We don’t use the Honda Link , we have the Navigation and an apple cell phone with Car Play . It looks like an Audi or BMW from the exterior but those low profile tires have taken a beating . BUY IT , ITS AWESOME 😎!

    Looks-wise, my favorite car is the Audi A7. I can’t afford it tho.
    This car looks similar and is more reliable than an Audi.
    Next year, I’m planning to get a new car. I’m thinking about getting this. Always had Hondas and Acuras.

    Also working with Honda, I recently bought an Accord 2.0T Sport. I was happy to omit leather, while adding in heated seats and a sunroof compared to the 1.5T Sport. I live in a colder climate, so heated seats are a must!

    I know what MY next car will be....2018/19 Accord Hybrid Touring in Pearl White. Wife loves her 2017 Accord Hybrid Touring. She is killing it getting 50-52+ mpg on each tank when the rated mpg is only 48! Honda has done an amazing job on these cars. Prius....what a joke. Who wants to drive a hybrid that looks like a toy when you can drive LUXURY and COMFORRT and turn heads at the same time!

    I just got my EX-L 1.5T (no Navi) a week ago. Love it! I couldn't justify an extra $4K for features that were nice, but would not really be needed or missed, although the heads-up display is totally cool... just not $4K cool.
    The 1.5T has enough power for my needs, the 17"s look and ride great, and I just took it for a 225 mile ride (85% hwy @ 74 mph) and got 40.6 mpg on Econ mode.

    • @billwellford376
      @billwellford376 6 років тому +2

      jerry mathews a quick check on Google, and after reading various Honda forums, that gas/oil mix problem appears limited. I found no reports of it happening in any 2018 models or in any Accords.

    • @billwellford376
      @billwellford376 6 років тому +5

      jerry mathews While no manufacturer is flawless I think Honda's reputation for quality would not allow that type of fault to go unresolved in subsequent model years, nor do I think a company like Honda would expand the use of that engine in their best selling models if there were a great risk of exposure to liability for repairs or recalls.

    Like Bob Johnston mentioned, there are lots of other small details you get in 2.0 touring that you don't get in 2.0 EX-L. I would really like to see the similarities and differences over 1.Ride and handling quality , 2. Cabin Noise, 3. Adaptation frequency of adaptive dampers, 4. how well does both vehicle react with imperfections on roads, 5. 0-60 comparison between 2.0 Touring and 2.0 EX-L. Many of these can be measured with simple app on the smartphone. what do you say Honda man?

  • @CMane

    The 2.0 has a lot of get up power when you press the gas and even more when you put it in sport mode. But I also like the 1.5. just putting in my 2 cents. You can't go wrong with either option. I have the 2018 Honda Accord sport 1.5. but I wish that the sport 1.5 came with sunroof and stuff like the Canada ones does, if you don't know what I'm talking about, look up the Canada 2018 Honda accord sport 1.5

    Just picked up the EXL and love it. I can't understand why the touring is so much more. The HUD is cool, but seems pretty unnecessary. Cooling seats are great but also a luxury item you just don't need (heated way more important imo). Outside of those two things all you gain is wireless charging and android auto and audio is better plus charging better with your phone plugged in anyways.
    And if you're worried about heat just get your windows tinted. It makes a HUGE difference in the internal temp of your car in the summer.

    Good video. I wish Honda would of included a 360 Camera ( not just top view but the feature that gives the driver and option to switch to a front view camera , side view etc...) ambient lighting and kept the shifter like a small mallet head shifter. I don’t like the button control on the touring.

      to each their own. I agree on the 360 view. that would be sweet- and Expensive! haha In terms of the button gear selector, I felt the same way but it's grown on me. I actually fell weird going back to a shift lever. Also, it make the storage compartment so much easier to get to!

      Your Honda Man It wouldn’t be expensive in my honest opinion because the technology has been out now for years. There are some features on cars that aren’t active but they are there all you need to do is to go to a tech at a shop that does Coding and they can enable some features that are simply turned off on some vehicles. The accord doesn’t have the features I’m speaking of so this doesn’t work on the accord. People can also do the coding by themselves. I think the 1.5 touring model has the shifter still ?

    • @Lenny7118
      @Lenny7118 6 років тому +1

      Your Honda Man I wish Honda would go with a different style wheel. The aftermarket wheels that are on the demo accord you showed are really nice 👍. I like that demo accord with those options. • @NoEgg4u
    @NoEgg4u 4 роки тому +1

    Not mentioned in this video is handling (or cornering).
    If you want an Accord that has the best handling, go for the Sport model or the Touring model.
    They both come with 19" wheels (the EX an EX-L models have 17" wheels).
    They both come with low profile tires (the EX and EX-L do not have low profile tires).
    The larger wheels and low profile (less sidewall) tires give you better cornering performance.
    Less sidewall results in minimizing the amount that the car can roll onto the sidewall when taking a hard turn. The less that the tire yields to the sidewall translates to more of the bottom of the tire maintaining contact with the pavement.
    The Sport and Touring models will take turns faster than most people would try (especially in Sport mode, which stiffens the suspension), and the cars will do so with relative ease, no tire squeal, and very good control. I am not suggesting that anyone drive like a nut. Even a million dollar Ferrari will lose control when pushed too hard. But the above mentioned styles handle remarkably well for a family sedan.
    If you care little about handling, then get whichever model has the features you want within your budget. I have not driven the other models. They probably handle reasonably well. But their wheels, tires, and suspensions are not dialed in the way the Sport and Touring models are dialed in.

  • @ParkinsonProduction

    Get the Accord 2.0, touring or not, the 2.0, drivability over minor perks. You will be bored with the CRV, it won’t feel as nimble and quick. And when you can’t pass that car next to you to get over, you’ll be regretting it. You’ll be allowing everyone in instead.. I know because I got a small suv, and was miserable going to work everyday feeling like a chump.

    Hi. Are manual transmission Hondas hard to get a deal on? Looked at 3 Honda dealerships in my area and they all have 400+ cars on the lot, but less than 10 manual transmissions on the lot. Only manual transmission trims they seem to stock is Civic SI.

      Yes, the fact that the vehicle is very rare creates value in itself. When something is scarce and the demand is high, you typically pay more for it - not just cars.

      I got my 2018 accord sport 2.0T in manual for $29k with lojack and protection package. You lose some features by getting manual though (no turbo gauge or sport mode) but that isnt a big deal as the torque app will display boost. Also you lose navigation but the car comes with android auto and carplay. Google maps from android auto will display turns on the digital gauge anyway.
      There were only 5 manual ones within 50 miles of me and they were all similar (usually black or white)

      Nick De la Garza hmmm... It's better than last year's. More amps. More speakers. Sounds better than the crv as well. Id say Take a phone or something with music and test it out (bluetooth). I'm still not amazed by it.

      I have driven all trim level of the new accord at night time and the led low beams just over power those halogen high beams

      They may be splitting hairs but IIHS also prefers the halogen high beams over the LED's on the 2018 Accord... I doubt it's noticeable to the casual observer.

    It sounds like a CRV is a good choice for you. I went with the 2L touring, though I may wish I got the hybrid in a few years. You did not mention the parking sensors in your review, I'm pretty sure those are not standard on the EXL. They are what put me over the edge between the trim levels, and I've loved them!

    • @tomspencer5192
      @tomspencer5192 6 років тому

      Vic da G Define "fun." I don't need the 2.0 and my test drive of the hybrid showed enough power. Did I miss something?

    • @lionintu
      @lionintu 6 років тому

      i dont need the 2.0 either but some folks on youtube compared the hybrid to the 1.5 and found the hybrid relatively sluggish and boring. the 1.5 was rated better for fun factor. but all in all this is subjective. Get what you prefer. Im still driving a 2014 civic so the acceleration is quite laggy local and on hwy. Maybe i'll test the hybrid and find out for myself.

      I'm torn between the Civic Sedan Touring and the Accord Hybrid Touring. Both get good mpg. The Civic has nice pep and enough features. The Accord has more comfort and tech. Is it worth the additional $$$? TBD.

    • @lionintu
      @lionintu 6 років тому

      no comparison. accord all the way. accord touring is more everything. So much more space. ventilated front seats. better infotainment. Its worth every penny. more IMO. gas mileage is amazing. go accord.

    In your driving, did you run accord the this dreaded so-called 2018 Accord "glitch"? [ ua-cam.com/video/xr2i7GbHIXg/v-deo.html ]. Mine is an EX-L and this happened at mile 26! After letting it cool 20 minutes or so, it went away and I was unable to reproduce it. Please advise. Thanks for the video.

    Subtract approximately $3,000 - $4,000 from the prices quoted (from MSRP).
    Look at kellybluebook.com and offer them the low end of what the car has sold for. If other people got the car at that price, you can too.
    If the dealer has it on the lot, that is what you can get it for.
    If the dealer says no, then go to a different dealer.
    The reason a dealer might say no is because if they have low supply, and they are confident that it will sell for close to MSRP, then they will be reluctant to meet your offer.
    But this is unlikely to happen. And you have to be prepared to walk, and they will then stop you at the door (of the dealership or your car), with some BS about their manager this or that, and suddenly they can make the deal.
    Do not pressure them about tax and motor vehicle fees. In this limited circumstance, they have no control over those fees.
    They will probably tell you that you have to pay their "prep" fee, and/or "destination" fee, or some other BS fee (all could be named "pure profit" fee). Do not let them add that to your offer.
    They will probably tell you that, by law, they must list separately the "prep" fee. That is true. But what they are not telling you is that the prep fee is not required by law. It is just one of their pure profit fees that they choose to add on. And when they do add it on, then, by law, they have to list it separately. But the crux of the matter is that the fee is BS.
    So if your offer is 30,000, and they add on an $800 prep fee, then reduce your order to $29,200 plus their prep fee.

    i didnt like the touring because it has a bunch of chrome all over the car. i hate chrome so much. plus it doesnt come with the sport rims. there really isnt much of a difference between the 2.0 touring and the 2.0 sport. same engine with tiny upgrade differences. plus the 2.0 sport is cheaper so why not? just sayin! if your going to spend that much on the 2.0 touring then you might as well get a BMW or a Mercedes.

    To bad this touring model comes with low profile tires. They are utterly useless in the snow and they wear out twice as fast as normal tires.
    Because of the lack of a normal sidewall when you hit a pothole you will bend the rim and flatten the tire.
