I was 6 in 1985 and used to love waking up before everyone else and watching all these shows. The commercials teleport me back in time too. I wish I could go back and experience it all over again.
Saturday morning cartoons were the best. It was like an official kickoff of the weekend that felt like 48 hours of summer vacation as a kid. Its sad they dont really have network tv cartoons saturday mornings anymore. We were blessed to be kids back then.
I was 3 in 1985 and this was the life. I still wake up on Saturdays and scroll the channels looking for cartoons.😂 Only educational shows on now and I definitely dont want to watch that early in the morning😂 I still cant believe kids dont watch cartoons on Saturdays and after school. My 14 year old watches anime sometimes but it's not the same. 🙏🏽
1:33:00 Yes!!!! D&D "The Dragons Graveyard." There's a reason this show is still talked about. R.I.P. Michael Reaves! He wrote the greatest episodes of many of these shows, and was the the head writer of D&D. This show haunted 5 year old me.
"Thanks for watching Getalong Gang! Now here's a short about Nuclear War, including graphic footage of burned children, and a reminder that the odds have never been higher of this happening to YOU! And now, The Muppet Babies!" 🤣WTF??
This is great! I was 8 at the time, and while back then my lil brother and I both thought CBS had the lamest of the Saturday morning cartoons (NBC and ABC were so much better!)… we still watched a few of these. Thanks for the upload, and the memories!
Most of the cartoons in this video were geared towards 4-6 year olds. if you were watching these at 10......i'm guessing your friends had no idea you were watching "The Get along Gang" and "Muppet Babies"
AAah! I was 4 years old! loved the getalong gang! also that analog broadcast TV sound quality... you don't get that with modern uploads. it sounds warmer
I haven't thought of Pole Position in almost 40 years! What a great show. I used to make my own cars out of legos and play along with the cartoon like I was part of it 😄.
Man, this takes me back, esp the In The News segments; I'd forgotten about the planet graphic and that electronic "music" accompanying it, but it came back seeing it! I mainly remember those segments talking about how Star Wars was breaking all the records and showing people lining up around the block to see it...
@TheVCRTimeMachine exactly. They were PC merch driven crap.. for God sakes, Mr potato head kids? Garbage! Even Ducktales and Rescue Rangers was bland PC crap. I was born in 76, and my favorite cartoons were mostly pre mid 60s, but I enjoyed Jay Ward cartoons and The Original pink panther lcreator cartoons. I judge a cartoon or any movie or show by its rewatchability. I cant bare to watch 80s cartoons. But I still enjoy Walt era Disney cartoons, and Fleischer and pre 60s cartoons. Like wth. Paw paw bears? I liked the Snorks.. but as you said, they were basically for toddlers, which is why I can't rewatch them without wanting to change the channel
Hey guys, ease up on bashing our nostalgia. I was 9 years old back then and there were lots of cool cartoons. Those were fun mornings flipping through the 3 networks while eating Cocoa Pebbles. And they didn’t ALL have toy lines to go with them.
I love how you uploaded these saturday morning cartoons.. I was 3 in 1985 and it was my favorite thing to do on saturdays in the 80s.. I tried to explain this to my 14 and 5 year old but they looked at me like I was crazy
I swear we are to get Reaction Figures of the D &D cartoon characters. I can not find any info on it and I swear I bumped into the photos, by accident, 2 weeks ago. If so I have to have them!!!
I’ve had these bumper and commercial jingles stuck in my head for almost 40 years. Too bad my son will never know the thrill of Saturday morning appointment viewing.
56:32 Music by Shuki Levi and HAIM Saban! Mother Earth! Both He-Man and this cartoon from Diffusion, Information Communications (DIC) misspelled Mr. Saban's name...
I feel like there’s the subliminal mind control happening in the In the News commercial. That audio and those geometric shapes did something to my brain😮
57:38 Kids back in the 80's watched film of atomic bomb burn victims between cartoons and cereal ads, and some how are better adjusted than the generation that followed.
I am an 80's child but I didnt care much for 80's cartoons. Mostly I watched the classic Looney Toons and waited for saved by the bell and that was it.
My dad claims to have not thrown my old cartoons away, though I'm doubtful, but if not then somewhere I have a full VHS of Saturday morning cartoons that were interspaced with with some sort of Mary Lou Retton 15 minute gymnastics isometric specials. I'm pretty confidant it was the first airing of the Gummy Bears episode "Zummy makes it hot" which would put it Sept 21 1985. One day I hope I can dig that up for people to enjoy.
I was born in 78, I could of easily been eating as bowl of cereal playing with my He-man \\ Star War figures watching this on the living room floor Infront of our Zenith floor model.
I actually know what song they're parodying at 2:45:00.... It's Adam Ant's "Goody Two Shoes" It's funny because I was just listening to it the other day, the first times in decades. ua-cam.com/video/o41A91X5pns/v-deo.html
2:56:22 That was the point you snapped out of it, picked up your two hour bowl of cereal. And went outside. Nothing like a little "threat of nuclear war" propaganda sandwiched in between Get Along Gang and Muppet Babies! No wonder 90s teenagers were so miserable

I was also 6 in 1985. I would give anything to go back knowing what I know now. Growing up happens way faster than you would think that it would.
Me too
Can't believe I remember these commercials I was 5
i was 5 and remember everything :D Especially the Pole Position theme song :D I would sing it while playing it in the arcades!!
Same

Does Venger sound like Optimus Prime? Or is that just me.
tyvm for not erasing the commercials from your video fun seeing what people were eating drinking or wearing back in 1985!!
"Thanks for watching Getalong Gang! Now here's a short about Nuclear War, including graphic footage of burned children, and a reminder that the odds have never been higher of this happening to YOU! And now, The Muppet Babies!" 🤣WTF??
They actually used to throw educational content in between the dumb cartoons. Social media is even dumber co tent minus the education
@@TheVCRTimeMachineDo you mean it was a good choice to show the A-Bomb piece to the Muppet Babies viewers?
Yeah, “In The News” used to scare the crap out of me; even the theme was scary.
Nuclear war was a real fear for us growing up in the 80s. It's like we've forgotten about that in this day and age.
It's called trauma-based programming. All of this content is pure mind control propaganda. And I have very fond memories of it all!
God i wish i could go back to these days.
Thank you for keeping my childhood alive.
This is great! I was 8 at the time, and while back then my lil brother and I both thought CBS had the lamest of the Saturday morning cartoons (NBC and ABC were so much better!)… we still watched a few of these. Thanks for the upload, and the memories!
Didn't CBS have Garfield, Muppet Babies, and Pee-Wee's Playhouse? That's a pretty solid lineup.
I can't believe I watched this at 46 with full enjoyment haha!
Once an 80s kid, always an 80s kid!
"In the news" opening synth was super nostalgic for me. 💪😎
SAME ❤
Oh my goodness. That was so much to take in. I was 10 in 85. The exact age to watch all that.
I was 10 in 85 to.. we had the best times as kids.. I sure miss it .

The sound was better! I don't know why. Maybe it was the analogue mix back then?
Was a Dayumm good show to say the least!
I haven't thought of Pole Position in almost 40 years! What a great show. I used to make my own cars out of legos and play along with the cartoon like I was part of it 😄.

Thanks for this classic 1985 Saturday morning cartoon lineup for CBS @MoneMedia
I was 11 years old with these cartoons and sir you are the best #1 in my book. Thanks for bringing these back and keeping me young. Awesome buddy 😎👍
Thank you so much Mone for the Saturday Morning cartoon upload!! So happy to watch these nostalgic flashbacks!!
Defintely remember all of this. I was only 6. That guitar in the CBS Storybreak intro. Usually by the time that came on, I was outside playing.
Thanks Mone ! Nice to wake up on a Saturday morning and being transported back in time to when I lived for Saturday mornings :)
1985 was peak 80s Saturday Morning cartoons.
If it wasn't for pre 70s cartoon reruns I think 80s would have been lacking.

@24:35 my God Heather O'Rourke! RIP sweet angel.
Muppet babies……gosh it takes me back
Ah yes, more Saturday morning cartoons. CBS was my favorite of the 3 in the 80s, so this is always a treat. Thanks!
Muppet Babies theme should annoy me as an adult but i still love it.
"LEVI'S"

Dirt roads allow cartoon car tires to squeel.
Was looking for some trouble this morning and found it. Thanks as always.
Yeah, thanks for doing this, gives me a good feeling and I show my kids on Saturday mornings 👍🏻🙏🏻😎
Memories of my childhood. These cartoons originally aired on WCAU-TV Channel 10 in Philadelphia (10 years before switching from CBS to NBC).
Man I wanna be 10 again! I remember this line up before going outside on the BMX! lol THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!!!
5 year old me wouldn't understand why adult me would skip through the whole video just watching the commercials.
😂 the commercials were the only time to use the bathroom or grab food

Thumbs up if your mom wouldn't let you watch Dungeons & Dragons because the game possessed kids.
The ice giant in D&D sounded like Luto from Labyrinth
The Biskitts should've been on Cartoon Network and Boomerang here in the States!
Muppet babies was underrated
Hell yeah let me go get the cereal and milk.

Atom Bomb bumper during kids cartoons is so 80s. I thought for sure the world would blow up in the 80s leading to a Mad Max type future.

Do cereal commercials still say, “part of this complete breakfast”???
“These sugary candy cereals are a healthy breakfast, as long as you have orange juice, toast, eggs, oatmeal and a grapefruit with them!”
